SFxT on Sunday would have been remembered much more fondly if the the whole thing woulda just stopped after the first match between Infiltration/Laugh vs Combo/Ross. That P was pretty entertaining.

As much as SF4:AE's low-key showing for Top 8s was a shame, it's worth not forgetting that Top 32 for the game on Friday was still awesome.

As someone who enjoys playing and watching SF4 the most, it really gutted me how things turned out. I feel positive that if AE had started on schedule or maybe an hour later, it would have hit 100k+. But having it start over two and a half hours late and the stream restart cause tens of thousands to either call it a night(a morning, in Europe anyways) or just never come back. And if that wasn't bad enough, the top 8 was horrible with so many one sided victories. Not all the matches were lop sided beat downs, but seeing one 2-0 after another wasn't great for hype and anticipation. Then we topped it off with Infiltration destroying Gamerbee in the finals like how he destroyed Daigo and PR Rog on the way there. KOF and Marvel were so good, SF4 being just half as good would have been enough. Unfortunately it was about 1/8 at best.
 
Just saw the SCV Finals. Shining Depocon is unstoppable with his Tira. He makes Tira seem like she's top tier.
Alright onto the lame jabfest that is SFxT Finals.

The awesomeness of last year's top 8 and the sheer character variety of this year's top 8 probably raised expectations quite a bit as well.
 
I have no idea how I didn't get banned during my EVO posts, woo-wee.

So what's the next big major now? More SBO qualifiers until an actual major?

Yup. The venue we've got now is really nice too. I'll probably be as free as ever in SF4, but gonna train for VF quite a bit if nothing else.

July 28-29 The first of Capcom's 25th Anniversary Tournament. It'll be held at Fubarduck's own arcade UFO I think.

August 17th Revelations: They're promising up to 50k in total pay outs.

August 24th Sumer Jam: One of Big E's 3 big majors(the other two being Winter Brawl and Northeast Championships)

No rest for Justin or the rest of the top players. There is still a lot of money to be won and big tourney's to attend.

Rewatching Marvel top 8... LOL at Magus calling Champ's team "not top tier." It's like Magus reeeallly wants everyone to be playing Zero May Cry and he needs to constantly remind the stream about this.
 
Last year's thread got to 20k right after the even ended. Even though I'd say there's a good 30 pages of people talking about general fighting game stuff, there's still 2 threads and this one's pretty freaking huge too.

The "trap" card is a double-edged one. Not only is it an immature response to your disappointment due to preferences or whatever, it's essentially saying cute girls are there only to sexually serve you.

I can't briing the setup this time, hopefully someone else can. Work is so going to suck that night since I can't take a day off (need to save days off for MLG and maybe NEC)

Aw, sorry to hear that. If nothing else I'll just bring my system(just need to wake up in time). I really liked how they did alt costumes in the Evo setup so I'm already implementing that on mine. Turns out that the data list is paginated so there's no real need to worry about taking up slots.
 
I'm really, really surprised how many people said this year's EVO wasn't exciting. In the ballroom people were more nuts than last year for basically every game except Mortal Kombat. Even Soul was more popular than last year's Tekken finals.

How was SF4 compared to Marvel? From the stream I could hear the crowd get excited off of any hit in Marvel. But in SF4 the crowd sorta sounded dead at least compared to Marvel.

Who said that? On the spectator side, things were way more hype.

Edit: I didn't watch SFIV, though.
 
SFIV sounded dead as hell, and stream chat seemed to be displeased as well. It kind of sucks since a lot of new people to fighting games were watching the "flagship" capcom game being played, and it was kinda unhype, and a one sided massacre.

My friend who never played fighting games:

This game looks really slow and boring compared to the other games.

Marvel was way more exciting but SF4 was serious and had a ton of bets going. People wanted to bet on Marvel, but everyone thought Champ would win free. Nobody took the bait even when he was in losers. Chris G vs Combofiend had the most bets for Marvel, but still less than SFIV. SFIV was side bets everywhere. KOF was super exciting for the grand finals, but honestly it was mostly the guys in front before that and there were very few bets because people didn't know what was going on. Neo lost a lot on Bala, though. At the end of the day, Marvel had the crazier sets but more people were there to see SFIV.
 
Idk man, I was in the ballroom, and I was sitting up front on the right side and people were enjoying sf4. I guess I was sitting next to people who liked sf4. I personally enjoyed it. Infiltration destroying everybody was cool to watch. People were like WOW, is he really doing this right now. Plus even on the 2-0 matches that were not akuma domination, the rounds were close and there was tension I thought.

Daigo and ko did seem way off though. Daigo was on fire on friday it seemed.

Watched the matches on the youtube and I'm surprised that everyone makes it seem like the matches were blowouts (aside from Infiltration dominating everyone). A lot of the rounds were down to the wire.
