EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

MCZ was assisting Team MRN i imagine similarly to their deals with DMG or Western Wolves or AG or DRS or Eternal Rival, or pretty much every one of the smaller teams (Not directly sponsoring) Team MRN wasnt a joke. Marn probably doesnt have money anymore.

Late shoutouts to:

- USD and Noryo for rooming, hooking me up with an arcade stick, and chilling together on finals day.
- God's Beard for the GAF dinner.
- Toomuchdamage for doing the southeast proud.
- Biz, Kinderparty, Chavelo, Toski, Bob White, Skilletor, and everyone else whose names escape me that I hung out with over the weekend. Great times all around.
- MahvelGAF for helping me with recon on quarterfinal pools. Too bad I wasn't able to capitalize on it properly.

Yes. He still owes me money and drinks.

Fatalities and looking up the moves were fine. Quit complaining as it was done in good fun.

I OWE NOTHING. We were drinking sir, you were too busy doing pushups or something. lol

Sorry for not being around much on the last night. We were pretty fucked up. lol

I would consider the often theft in events, the bashing of other games, the perception (for lack of a better word) of gender inequality and division, and players not going to their local scenes as all bigger issues than that to be honest.

My biggest issue is the amount of hate their is, and how much influence stream monsters can have. The first issue can be fixed, the second... yeah that is here to stay as long as the internet is involved.

All of those things you listed are problems. There are a ton of issues in the fighting game community, but it's still one of the best communities around. But that isn't going to continue much longer. It's going down hill now by catering to a group of people that really have no interest in the scene and treat it like wrestling.

It's really not. All these crazy ideas that people have about what a player should be doing, etc is ridiculous. Top players for YEARS have jumped onto different games and learned various pieces of the games to win, they don't need to memorize completely useless shit to win, and the suggestion that they do, or whatever is going on in this thread lately is flat out fucking ridiculous. And this distinction and idea that's being perpetuated is being done by a group of people who will most likely suck the community dry, and then move onto the next thing.

I've been a part of organizing tournaments for 14 years and I really dislike where the community is going. But that's a discussion for another time and one that I doubt 90% of the people on this thread would be receptive to.

And yet you keep going.

Do you know a guy named Denis Dyack? I think you and him would get along fine.

Right, because making a follow up comment on something another poster replied to is the same as me going into a 3 page discussion about what's wrong with the fighting game community.

Did I offend you, princess? You proved my point already. AND you already sound like you're part of the problem I was talking about. So what have you done for the community? Let's start comparing resumes.

There are some wacky ass post in this thread since evo has been over.

For example. What exactly was the point of even saying this? To flex your peen about how much you've done? The community isn't about one person it's about people coming together. Sure one person could start an event, but then it's up to everyone else to show up and keep coming and make it a living breathing thing.
