Ratchet & Clank Collection Hits August 28th With Sly Cooper Demo

I remember when I got the Sly 3 demo from a Gamepro mag back in the day, god so much fun. Cant wait to experience that joy again.

Likewise. I never played the PS2 games and started with the PS3 games -- skipped All 4 One, though. Really excited about this collection.

I literally just got the trophy on my 4th playthrough, penultimate level. No glitching or exploits. It's not as terrible as it initally appeared as a lot of the bolt total was reached getting all the weapons and upgrades. Still very grindy though, should have been 500k.

takes almost a day, but it runs automatically

R&C3's bolt trophy asks for 10 million. I'm not far enough into that one to tell if that's going to be a pain to get or if like 2 you'll rack up the bolts without even trying. I will say there does seem to be a lot of trophies taken from the skill points that look quite grindy but I won't be able to say for sure until I've tried challenge mode for myself.

Just go for 10 million first. It's pretty easy on challenge mode. I reached it around the half point, then bought all the weapons. Leveling up all the weapons is much more of a grind than 10 million, but on the right planet, it's pretty easy to do as well.

And yes, R&C 1+2 are cumulative. RC3 is not.
 
Wait, wasn't Deadlocked HD leaked by a Japanese ad? Was that fake? I'm confused because that's the sort of extra I'd expect for a few months waiting, not a demo and avatar.

They should give Deadlocked for free to all accounts that triple Platinum this collection. :P
 
I wish the Jak and Daxter Collection was $30. I'd rather get that first because I never played Jak 3.

Definitely getting R&C though. Looking forward to this and the next Quest for Booty-like PSN game they announced.
 
Can't wait not having Deadlocked isn't a tad disappointing, but oh well. IT'S STILL THE FIRST 3 RATCHET GAMES IN HD CANT WAIT! Though the trophies sound like a pain in the ass. I platinumed CiT but it wasn't bad at all.

Yeah, Jak for $30 would have been much nicer, considering how unsubstantial the content was and that the games were just below 720p. Not even full HD :/

There has to be. I don't think he can possibly be that disconnected about what gets people excited. I mean, I like Sly and all, but I was expecting something kinda massive. He's bound to pop in here eventually!

Regardless, I'm super pumped to go play these as I loved the PS3 Ratchets.
 
It's a good thing Sony delayed this in the U.S, because we all know Americans don't buy videogames during the summer, especially when there are no games to buy.


I'm pretty sure that is the only reason for the delay.
 
A delay just for the demo is lame, I would have rather bought the game now. Demos belong on the PS Store, not as incentives to buy games.
 
Excellent to get a date, really excited for the game.

No interest even in the slightest in the Sly demo. Never liked Sly as much as Ratchet--they're not really comparable games--and getting a demo before other people strikes as a kind of artificial and lame marketing tactic in 2012, when you can just put the demo up online for free if you choose.

Would love to get Deadlocked or a voucher for the new PSN Ratchet game, though!
 
so pissed off by this right now. i legit just imported this last night on ebay for 42. i guess its only 12$ more but i could of sworn this game was slated for october

I would just say that if something else was planned but fell through due to schedule, it would be something we'd still be working to get to the fans, and that we couldn't comment on it until it's ready...

While you guys are working on that something else you should also patch in trophies for Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty for good measure. :)

Oh you sneaky bastards... I wasn't going to buy this because I figured at least the first Ratchet remake would head to PS+ at some point, letting me test the waters there. But $30? Dammit.

Sly demo? Won't that just be available via download at some point anyway?

trust me - you don't need to 'test the waters' when it comes to r&c. diving right in's the only way to go :) ...
 
Fun and totally unrelated fact: did you know the engine/rendered for Deadlocked was way different than the other three games?

Sounds to me like you got the better end of the deal. Having waited for the U.S. release bonus and now hearing what it is makes me feel like I just chose the box in "Wheel of Fish".
 
Aww. I already played Sly TiT at E3, so I was kind of hoping for Deadlocked HD, since I really enjoyed that one. Ah well! August is sooner than I was expecting, and R&C HD is one of my most anticipated titles next to PBR. A demo of that would have been welcome as well. Lol.

but if they add something to the PSN store for the game will i be able to get it since its the EU game? lol im not upset over a demo i just dont want their to be NA exclusive add ons that i cant get for some reason
