Highly enjoyed this film, thought it had great performances by almost everyone involved (Cotillard's acting was weak). But the writing was sort of a let down: pretty much the entire plot felt extremely telegraphed.
You knew Batman would "die" with all the scenes in the first act of Alfred spending so much time describing his fantasy and lines like "I buried enough members of the Wayne family" and then Blake's lines such as "I don't know if I'll have the chance to thank you later" etc. Way too much foreshadowing there.
Then Lucius saying about how all the armory stuff was developed in complete secrecy since it could be dangerous in the wrong hands, which of course means it gets robbed by Bane shortly after. And Bruce saying the clean energy project device should be destroyed since it could be used as a nuclear weapon, and sure enough that's exactly what happens.
And about a dozen other examples like this with overly obvious foreshadowing.
