Just got back.

The movie was a bit more boring than the last two, eh? Batman was in costume on screen for like 12 minutes of the whole movie.

Either way, it was great fun to watch. My only complaint is how Bane died. And his voice was off. Like it was dubbed over. Which I'm sure it was.

The movie's about 2h30m with credits. And neither of the above happen.

Ok, thanks. Glad he doesn't die, and a nice nod to comics with the hurt back, I suppose. Actually, I'm not sure what I would think about paralysis.

Dude, get out of the spoiler thread. You dont want to know that second part until you see the movie.

meh, I don't mind spoilers so much. I think I probably know the 'big' thing about second half. Or not, I dunno. Only read bits and pieces in here.

Come on, bros. Cheesiest line came from Bats himself in this movie.

SO THATSH WHAT THAT FEELSH LIKE.

if this was delivered in wayne voice, its ok cause i can imagine saying that to yourself in that case.

if it was in batman voice, its really dumb cause nobody was around.

but i cant remember which one it was.

ANYONE?

1) How come Gotham went from being 'monorail Wayne Tower fantasy city' in the first film to CLEARLY Chicago in the second to CLEARLY New York in the 3rd?

Actually, the NY part was the most jarring. I was actually thinking back to the first movie of how they talked about the Narrows and sealed off part of Gotham, whereas now the entirety of Gotham is an island!

Batman voice.

"So thats what that feels like" got a big reaction from the audience, but it just seemed overly cartoony and ridiculous to me. I feel like it would have worked better with him just reacting to her vanishing with no dialogue. I knew what he was thinking, he didn't have to say anything. Or even if he just said it without the Batman voice. Its like, who the hell is he talking to? him growling it like that was just jarring

I think that's the point. Bruce acts cocky and happy-go-lucky about being Batman again. It felt natural for him to say that at that point. If it were later in the movie or TDK, yeah, it would've been off.

Dude was a recluse for years. He's finally happy again to go out and be Batman. Alfred warns him multiple times. Bruce tells him off. Takes it lightly. Gets his helmet smashed in by Bane.

Just got back. I give it one Batman Begins out of a Dark Knight.

So like, 8.5 or 9 out of 10

The whole limp was pretty pointless I thought.
The limp was a red herring the whole time though, wasn't it?

I though the only thing Bruce was "cured" of in prison was a broken back courtesy Bane.

I thought it was better than the others though there were some stupid parts. Pointless limp, Bane's voice being absolutely fucking horrible and the fact that the bat motorcylce's guns hit Bane hard but then they completely fuck up the Batmobile.

Come on, Dan. Luring Bruce into a trap he isn't prepared for (robbing Batman of his prep time is a death sentence) with no escape route from a situation which Bane is prepared for is fucking deplorable.

It's not like he was sneaking in. They were running around beating up bad guys and making quite a bit of noise. Batman walked out out into that huge open room all by himself. He didn't stop outside and consider scouting the area or finding a better entrance. Prep time wasn't even on his mind. He waltzed right in, being pretty cocky. Selina didn't force him to do anything he didn't want to do. Even if she hadn't closed the gate, I don't imagine it going very differently. He had devices on him too, he could have blown out that little gate if he wanted. Nah, he wanted to fight Bane, but he got destroyed.

Lol, I've basically voicing this opinion as Red Robin would work moreso in the Nolanverse than I believe either Nightwing or Tim Drake's Robin costume.

I like the New 52 Red Robin better

He's not happy go lucky that he's Batman again. He was being reckless, which was totally out of character.

The cheesiest thing in the movie for me was the catwoman cartwheel in the prison, when she broke the guy's arm. The way the scene cut away quickly just added to it, it felt so weird.

So was he actually born in the pit like Talia? Seems coincidental that two pregnant women would wind up in this crazy prison when it kind of made it feel like it was an out there thing for Talia's mother to be put there while pregnant.

I don't think we know either way... but by the end of the film... I took it to mean that Bane.. the man he is now was born in the pit

Since.. he wears the mask and all because of what happened to him down there.

The next Batman movie is scheduled for 2015. Confirmed by Warner Bros.

I worry about it though because Warners wants an "Avengers" and this next Batman is supposed to tie into the Justice league.

It'll be interesting to see them try.

This batman doesn't fit into such a group, green lantern sucked, they can't make a superman movie worth a shit, and they'll have to throw a wonder woman movie out before then.

I bet the reason why they put Batman in prison instead of just letting him rot in Gotham was that somehow Alfred would bring Bruce back to the mansion and use that same piece of technology which he used on the leg on his back. Batman would come the next day and wreck Bane's shit.

I really enjoyed the end. I kept thinking throughout, "Man, JGL would be an awesome Robin."

Then the will scene. Then the cave scene. So good.

Yeah, that leg brace reminded me of Bruce's exo-skeleton in Kingdom Come.

Apologies if it was asked but how exactly did batman survive the blast? I understand that auto pilot was used but weren't there a few seconds left before batman flew over the bridge? I'm guessing he ejected out or something?

Yeah..I can only assume it was a conscious choice by Nolan because it was just so blatant.

It's good, but I liked the cowl with the old costume as it did remind me more of Batman's suit. Regardless, I think Tim's Red Robin is a really great character.

Batman's. I thought the same thing. "No one is around to hear you dude. Why are you growling?"

If the cowl is on, he's in deep in the Batman character. We never saw him break that.

And people complaining that he was talking to himself... all of these characters have muttered a line or two to themselves during the series. People do that in real life. It's not unusual at all.

This stuff is reeeeaaaallly nitpicky.

Somewhere along the line he got out of The Bat. That's about all we can guess.

ANYONE?

Wasn't it established in the first movie that the voice thing is part of the suit? He can't just turn it off and on to talk to himself

Gordon muttering something to himself when Batman vanishes just doesn't come off nearly as unnatural though

Although the second fight scene was epic on how Batman and Bane found each other on the footsteps, I was hoping we would see Batman gliding in the air from the Bat and ambush Bane. We didn't really see much cape action

I always thought that there was a voice changer in the Bat suit that Bruce some how incorporated it himself.

But it's never explicitly mentioned in the trilogy.

'You've adapted to the darkness, but I was born in it. The shadows betray you. Because they belong to me.'

<8

People must not have heard the last sentence of that statement.

I thought the same thing. It made sense in TDK, when no matter who he was talking to, if he was in the suit, he used the voice. IE, when he was talking to Lucious in the Sonar Computer room.

Just saw this. My full review will be up later, but I think one word to describe the plot would be "nonsensical."

Not horrible though. Just a lot of weirdness. Also, I hate Joseph Gordon-Levitt
