If Bane didn't seem to have amazing information on just about every other aspect of his plan I could accept this, but he does.
Gotham in Begins was a regular city. The narrows was the only thing that looks like the comics.
How did Blake know Bruce was Batman in the first place? I didn't understand when he explained. Just because he was rich?

I liked it, but wanted more. More him finding himself, more montaging, more Bale being a boss.

It looked like a modern city with a rail system. I watch Begins all the time. Look at the first shot of Gotham during the day. The only thing that looks "epic" is Wayne Tower.Gotham in BB was fucking epic, that is how you portray that city
Out of all the gripes people have, this is the only one that really bugged me. Gotham in BB is absolutely amazing with Wayne Tower and the public transport system and everything else they did to make it a believable Gotham. They didn't really do anything in TDK but it wasn't a problem because there weren't many aerial shots (or none that really come to mind). This movie though they show off so many aerial views of Manhattan its like they are proud they did nothing to turn it into Gotham. My point is that they did everything short of having the Statue of Liberty in the shot. Its Manhattan Island. No way to mistake it.
All orphans have the shining.
A lot of my dislike for the movie really does come down to the pacing and the editing I think. It manages to feel frantic and barely coherent while also dragging on for an hour too long. I walked out of it mentally exhausted from trying to have adrenaline induced for two and a half hours.
How did Bane get Commissioner Gordon's note?
Blake can never see that little Latino kid ever again.
Or any kids at Wayne Manor for that matter.
Identity security risk.

Am I the only one who likes long movies?

He recognized that fake look on Bruce's face. It was pretty dumb.
Movie should have ended with the waitress asking Alfred what kind of tea he would like.
His answer should be obvious.
I'm fine with long movies. I'm not fine with long movies that are exhausting.
Got it off him in the sewers.
Also the whole environmental organization thing in the beginning echoes plenty of other League of Shadows storylines. The hints were there. Whether they or the reveal were actually satisfying or how they used her once the reveal happened I think is were the actual criticism lies.
Because he's a random every-man kind of guy...
...who happens to be omniscient, have no flaws, always knows exactly what to do, was an orphan just like Batman, gets promoted by the commissioner of Gotham after knowing him for five minutes, is able to catch Catwoman without even trying, gets promoted to Batman by Batman after knowing him for five minutes
I don't get what that means. An exhausiting movie?
The middle felt rushed? Don't you mean everything but the middle?I don't get what that means. An exhausiting movie?
if anything, the movie felt a little rushed around the middle.
Did you feel the same way about TDK? It has the same issue.Would you want to ride a twenty minute long roller coaster?
'8 years ago Batman showed his true nature by killing Harvey Dent'
'Bruce Wayne became suddenly reclusive 8 years ago and has long fingernails.'
'Bruce Wayne is back after 8 years of seclusion and he's at a party, let's take pictures!'
'After 8 years of hiding, Batman is back on the run days after Bruce Wayne has emerged from seclusion after 8 years!'
'Batman saves the city, let's build a statue.'
'Bruce Wayne has died.'
Gotham will never know who Batman was...
Fuck all this shit about Blake "knowing" he's Batman...how the fuck does an entire city not see the correlation between:
Batman disappearing for 8 years/Bruce Wayne disappears from the public eye for 8 years.
Batman returns to the public eye, Bruce Wayne returns to the public eye.
Same problem I had with Superman Returns and Clark/Supes disappearing/reappearing.
All orphans have the shining.
Oldman played a fantastic older Commissioner Gordon.
It was a bit of a stretch. But basically he recognized the "Bruce Wayne" was an act, and that Wayne had to have some manner to channel his anger. And he is detective material, so he put super advanced technology, super rich guy who is just pretending to be a playboy but needs to channel his anger together.
Also, it could have been one of those, I'm pretty sure, but when Alfred let him in- Now I know things.
I did too and I wanted to Ras to be real...
HES STILL REAL TO ME DAMNIT!

When did Catwoman figure out Bruce was Batman? Right before Batman gets his ass kicked? I find the fact that she didn't know more unbelievable than the fact he did.
This sounds familiar...
Great minds...
Either
when Bane called him 'Bruce Wayne' with her standing right there
OR
when Bane broke the mask off, revealing his face and and they dragged him off, again with her standing right there
I agree that the literal "timing" or how elapsed time is portrayed in the film is poorly done. You never really know when a scene is taking place. I don't agree that the film was too long. I just think the time allocated was used poorly. Acts 1 and 2 should have been consolidated and no more than an hour.
Could you be more specific for the first three points?- Some real artful scenes that bordered on trite.
- Mostly awful dialogue with a few decent monologues.
- Typical 'good concepts' from Nolan undone by overstuffing.
- Hathaway was completely flat. I blame the writing it more than her.
- Hate the logic breaking reveal.
- Hate the unceremonious death of Bane.
Really fun, really bloated movie. This is what happens when you make the highest grossing film in history. Worth the run time but I'll be happy to never watch it again.
I thought this was Oldman's best performance out of the three movies.
I loved loner rogue Gordon. He doesn't apologize for shit
