How did Bane get Commissioner Gordon's note?
He grabbed it from his pocket when his goons captured him in the sewers.
anyway, got back a little while ago. Thought it was great, very slow at points and there really wasn't enough batman or even bane but the screen lit up whenever they were on screen.
There was also a lot of meandering, maybe more than was actually needed and it definitely added to the very slow pace of the movie, but all that pales when Bane and Bats throw down. The first fight was just amazing, brilliant decision by Nolan not to use music during that fight, made it all the more impressive/brutal.
The second fight wasn't as impressive, but I loved the physicality of bane when his mask is damaged, showed just how much more skilled he was than batman. That body combo was amazingly brutal and then hitting the pillar out of anger/frustration - GODDAMN. Really wish he had seen more of bane's brutality, there just wasn't enough.
I hated how he was taken out though, didn't feel appropriate, same goes for Talia. How did she die but Gordon, who's in the back of the lorry with the bomb survives without a scratch. This was one of the gripes I have, there was too much death on the villains side, not enough on the good side, there wasn't really any sense of sacrifice to help Gotham get back on track, there needed to be more than just batman 'dying'.
Same goes for the city, I expected it to be in much worse condition than it really was.
Too tired to post any more, but I had quite a few issues with various plot holes and other inconsistencies, characters not being fleshed out or developed (Daggert, for example) and the lack of action but still really enjoyed it. We're probably going to see it again tomorrow.
