It's weird I did not care for my IMAX experience. The screen was too close, the theater was too small and the sound was too damn loud. And the non-IMAX scenes looked like ass.

I also thought immediately of Sherlock when watching this the first time. Kind of made me think he was alive even before it was shown in the film - very slightly ruining the surprise for me

The non IMAX scenes were distinctly rougher. May have been because Nolan shot so many dialogue scenes intercut with IMAX that the transitions were more jarring than TDK.

It will all look equally awe inspiring on Blu ray, no doubt. Speaking of which, I can imagine Nolan doing somethings to the bluray that people aren't supposed to notice from the theatrical, like adding a few extra seconds here and there. No doubt that full Selina flip in Blackgate was cut short because Nolan needed a few more seconds to get the whole film on one imax reel.

I sat in the front row of the IMAX theater due to getting there only an hour early. The distortion was noticeable as Marion Corilard and everyone else's faces were fat. I am going to have to see it again with a better view.

I also don't get the hate for the batvoice. Or rather at moments where he's yelling. I think when he's all SWEAR TO ME WHERE ARE THEY WHERE IS THE DETONATOR is the best use of it. I think it is at its worst when he's trying to reign it in. When he's growling I think its fierce and powerful.

I wonder if Talias death will be as groan worthy on my 2nd viewing.

I made sure to focus on that scene as well because of gafs distaste for it. I thought it was fine though. It looked like she had a bunch of broken bones and internal bleeding. She was shaking a bit then died. It didn't seem odd or badly acted to me at all really.

The only time I've ever had a problem with it is the detonator scene in this movie. I think that may also be because it's so obvious Bane doesn't have the detonator, so it just makes Batman seem even dumber.

The only problem I have with it.. is the Joker fight in TDK during the climax.

Doing the voice while hurt/injured.. just made it come off odd sounding.

Pretty sure Bane didn't break Bruce's back. He certainly fucked him up and probably fractured a vertebrae or two, but complete breaks? Nope.

Only thing that bothered me was the shake before death. People laughed at that at the midnight screening. It was good enough for the life to leak out of her, she had to practically vomit out her last moments.

I think that's due to bales slight lisp and inability to breath through his nose. Thats what I mean by saying its worse when he's reigning it in. When he's fired up he let's all the air out as he's screaming so he doesn't sound muddled. Interestingly the time banes choking him and bale is talking about the league or whatever I could barely understand him.

Looks like the shooting is hurting TDKR and other movies. TDKR is soft today, and Ted and Spider-Man suffered huge ass losses compared to last Friday.

Spider-Man was down 70%, and Ted was down nearly 60% after having great legs every day up til now.

Not that this stuff matters after what those people suffered.
Yeah, I for one am glad that WB isnt releasing numbers until Monday.

Just saw this pretty dumb of me not to remember talia being rhas daughter from arkham city lol so i was genuinely surprised haha.

If it makes you feel better, the whole time I was like "man something is off with that accent. She wasn't like this in Inception." flew right over my head -_-

I thought it was silly when Batman was still doing the Batvoice when talking to Catwoman on the batcycle. I was expecting her to say, "Drop the voice, Bruce"

Yea, he dislocated shit, really. Nothing more. Only people who know of the Bane comics would think he straight broke it entirely.

I don't think there's any way you could make him flat out BREAK his back in a movie like this.

You don't just recover from a shattered spine and crawl out of a hole.

Just like peoples problem with him using it with Fox in TDK, it's because the voice isn't a disguise. It's him becoming Batman. Happens in the Animated Series as well, even with Alfred alone in the cave, he puts on the voice.

during some scenes it was so quiet I was afraid to move my popcorn bag

Haha, I stopped eating them too.

That moment when Bruce grunts before attacking Bane, the entire fight reminded me of Gladiator final fight.

And then the smashing on Batman mask, holy fuck... I have to watch this again.

I really like the tag team sequence when Catwoman and Batman go down the sewers. It was the closest to getting that Begins vibe when he takes out enemies like a total ninja.

So I just finished watching the movie. A bit disappointing. I have some questions:

-How does Batman survive? (I groaned the moment I saw Bruce was still alive. It would've been a great way for him to go out)
-Did Bane die? You only see him get shot off of Batman's body. After that there's no sign of him.
-Why do Bane and Talias hate Gotham City so much? I recall they wanted to destroy it to restore balance. I don't get it.
-Why does the Batbike still look like it's going 5mph?

I miss the Joker. That's what really made The Dark Knight for me. :(

I would love to watch a "Ra's al ghul Begins" movie.

And Nolan should do a "The Dark Knight Returns" version in 10 years.

I'd love a Returns movie but I think it would be too similar to Rises. The movie borrows a lot from it.

He set The Bat to autopilot.
I'm pretty sure he's dead yeah.
They're doing what Ra's failed to do in Batman Begins.

He fixed the auotpilot months ago and didn't tell Fox. So he bailed the fuck out at some point. That's the point of Fox being told by the workers that Bruce Wayne fixed it months ago.

Fuck yeah Bane died. We saw her blow up a pile of cars with that same gun two seconds ago. He should have been little piece, but you know, PG13 rating.

They wanted revenge for Bruce killing her father, so they decided to come back to do what he died trying.

Did anyone else notice that heist is misspelled on Bruce Wayne's screen when he's bringing up all those news headlines about Selina Kyle at the start? It's spelled 'hiest'. How stuff like that gets through really annoys me as an anal speller.

Unless of course I'm crazy and I just imagined it.
