Based on the way this thread has gone, I've learned not to have any expectations about anything, regardless of how crystal clear something might seem to me. There are people here who still don't think Bruce put the bat symbol back there. I don't even....

Imagine if he had included one final shot of Gordon using the signal and having Blake show up in the bat suit; people would be even more confused.

Edit:
I want to see the final symbol on the light, I thought it was a bat, but if it was a robin, I'm kind of confused.
Oh gosh.

He's not going to become anything. There's no fourth movie, it was just an easter egg type thing he slapped in there. In the movie it's just implied that he succeeds Batman, whatever that means. Also, he's a horrible character that shouldn't be anyone.
I'm sorry if it's been asked before, but do you review video games for a living? Anyone else crying so much and still rating it with a 7 is baffling.

Also, holy fuck people it's not so complicated. There's this dude, who has some similarities to Bruce, who is called Robin as a nod to the 3 main Robins, who is going to be the next Batman.

Didn't Batman ask Blake if he was gonna put on a mask to protect the ones he loves?

This is what the majority of the public is going to think.

of course they will, he says he has a long name (Dick Grayson har) and then when asked the name he says Robin. Everyone is going to think that he is Robin (even fits the physical profile)

So, would JGL make for a good Batman?

He'd have to be a more cerebral Batman than Bruce. Which is kinda neat, as they could play up the detective angle. Whereas Bruce was pure physical prowess and training.

Now here I am getting excited about a movie that will never come.

I'm not familiar with the comics at all, but is there ever a Robin without a Batman? Bruce is gone, so even if you didn't get that Robin was next in line for the throne, you'd know there isn't a Bruce Wayne batmaning anymore.

i think harvey dent didn't actually die at the end of tdk

he's just in a coma in the hospital and everything that happens in tdkr is his dream

also when young bruce fell into the well, he was knocked into a coma and the whole trilogy is his dream

I can't see it. Prove me wrong GAF

I couldn't see Heath Ledger as Joker when he was cast either. In fact a lot of people thought it was odd at the time of casting, iirc.

JGL would be pretty awesome, though obviously smaller than Bale. I doubt it ever happens though :(

Huh, really? Me and everyone I know are convinced that he is going to become Robin.

Have you not watched Batman Beyond? Terry sneaks into the bat cave of old Wayne and puts on the new suit. He's going to be the next Batman. Which is why people are speculating the next Batman movie would be cool if it was Batman Beyond.

Okay, the last couple pages of this thread have really confused me.

Comic book/lore fans: in Nolan's Batman universe, is JGL the next Batman or Robin?

At first it seemed pretty obvious that he's Robin (birth name, plus the fact he's not about to jump into a suit built for a man twice his size without Alfred to resize it for him), but you guys seem to think he's the next Batman (which also kinda makes sense because I've never heard of Robin existing without Batman).

Please break it down for someone who has probably only read three American comic books in his entire life.

That would take balls of steel to continue this Batman universe instead of rebooting fresh. The former would be far more interesting and rewarding if done right, yet potentially even more so disastrous.

You can't even mind your surroundings in it.
Speaking of the Begins suit, does anyone know where I can get a clear, decent-sized image of the emblem that particular suit uses? It's like my favorite version of the Bat logo but I've been googling and googling and haven't been able to find a clear version of it.

And I mean a picture of the emblem, not a pic of the actual emblem on the suit.

Thanks!

Dick Grayson has replaced Bruce a couple of times, but Bruce always comes back.

Bruce Wayne will always come back.

Alfred: I never wanted you to come back to Gotham. I knew that there was nothing here for you but pain and despair. And I wanted more than that for you. I still do.

Michael Caine almost had me in tears.

Three times, at that point, when they said goodbye and when he was talking to Bruce his grave :( Caine knocked it out of the park.

Speaking of cowl, Bale looked like a damn BAWS walking around in the suit without the cowl.

Indeed. Did in BB too when he took off the cowl after knocking Rachel out to have his way with her (sorry, wrong Batman!)

I usually hate superheroes being unmasked, but it worked when they did it in this series.

Speaking of the suit...

Remember the thread where someone thought this would be a better look for the movies?

There is a billion billionaires, you telling me you know all of them?

"The world is too small for someone like Bruce Wayne to disappear."

So my little question for the thread. Did Batman shoot and kill the truck driver of the core? It looked like that to me then Talia took over the truck.

Put me in the '2nd Viewing is Better' club.

Enjoyed it immensely this time around. Emotional beats got me real good and it didn't drag too much at all for me.

Batman didn't kill him. He shot him. The bullets and the fall killed him.

He's the next Batman. Robin was just a fanservice wink he put in as a joke. He doesn't have any skills other than smile analysis and being a hothead so I'm not sure how that's going to work out.

Huh, really? Me and everyone I know are convinced that he is going to become Robin.

I don't understand how people can think this after Bruce said millions of times that anyone can be Batman, that it's a symbol, etc. Not to mention he's chilling in Europe, retired.

I think the Tumbler Selina blew up on his side might've tagged him. Batman doesn't kill or shoot!

He was in that prison for four months. It can be assumed that he did much more than a few push-ups in that time span. In fact, the various shots of him working out are put there to imply exactly that. If you really think he worked out for two days, got punched in the back, and then climbed out I don't know what to tell you. Again, people are being lazy and refuse to fill in any information that isn't directly shown. If there was no way to logically fill in the information then you have a legitimate complaint, but there is a very large amount of time that Nolan couldn't possibly show us all of (unless you want to sit in a theater for four months) that you are EXPECTED to fill in yourself. If you refuse to do that, of course you'll be unsatisfied.

Was it four months? The TV showed Siege of Gotham: Day 89. So more like three months?
