Had a 2-8 Naga Siren mass-buying couriers and feeding them to the bots. I made the mistake of putting a Crystalys and the remaining pieces of my Manta Style on one, splendid person wouldn't let me get my items (at most I could drag the Courier to my hero, but it wouldn't deliver in the fraction of a second I had of control). Wound up having to instadrop items one by one on the ground in the immediate path of the courier as it tore for enemy lines, and then had to scoop up the pieces one at a time to complete everything.
uh botolf, i don't want to hide this secret from you. The guilt is killing me. The courier feeder was the 5-9 undying.
I see your game, but it shan't work. The Naga had all the courier purchases and was the only hero sitting in the fountain long enough to compulsively courier retask in such a manner.
Back in hon swiftlame and I had a game where this guy farmed our jungle (efficiently, I might add, stacking, multipulling, ancients, the works) in order to mass purchase couriers to feed to the other team because i told him to eat a dick.
We won that game 2v5.

There are some Agi heroes on which Pipe + Vitality Booster (instead of Vanguard) are very good on. This combo is great on tanky ranged carries like Razor, Viper and so on. It gives you, in comparison to a Vanguard:
+ Great team utility
+ Excellent HP regeneration
+ the same HP boost as Vanguard
+ a Vitality Booster to later make a Heart
- costs more
- no damage block (which is close to useless on ranged heroes anyways)
Vanguard sucks on ranged heroes. The biggest problem is that you can't disassemble it to get a Heart, which is very important on almost every carry at some point in the game.
Love these, great read. Makes me want to play exclusive Single Draft for awhile.

Nope. If it says safe to leave, it's safe to leave. A few days ago I thought I got an abandon because I had to leave, but I actually didn't disconnect from the match, so someone must have abandoned in the 5 minute grace period, so I didn't get an abandon. Thanks stranger.
Also, I went 8/6/6 as Bane and a 5/11 PA says he's going to report me for being a "trash player." This. Game.

A lot of people hate Bane players because they generally KS with Brainsap. Not saying you did, but maybe you unintentionally took some of his kills and it made him rage or something.

Huh weird, though I just remembered i did get disconnected from a co-op bot game and I couldn't reconnect, it could be from that one.
I did screw up a nightmare that cost him a kill and I guess he really held it against me. I suppose anyone would prefer to go 6/11 than 5/11. Morphling was a first-timer and PA said he would report him too. I feel sorry for the guy at Valve who has to wade through reports.
I finally had a good match my next game, but four guys on the other team ragequit. Also I'm pretty sure my BP glitched and didn't go up. WHY VALVE WHY

Out of curiosity, has anyone else been getting random lag spikes since last week's update? Every match I get a large lag spike for about 10-15 seconds (600ms-1000ms, 0 packet loss) and then it's back to a very normal 60ms-100ms.

It's a lot more difficult to balance Dota mm games due to how difficult it is to track player skill and the variability in hero picks.

Wow, 4 games in and 3 of them have had more than one person leave.
I've gotten a couple of good games with tidehunter now, I really don't know where to go from here. I do like being able to pick people off when they are on their own, from the trees. He has loads of health, good strength and nice AOE. Any other heroes like that good for a noob such as myself.
And thanks a lot for taking the time to make the OP so comprehensive, it is really helping me out.

Ya totally understandable. I'm just hoping they implement some kind of ranking system like Starcraft 2 where you get promoted/demoted to various tiered skill ranks. I don't mind getting shit on in Dota, but it would be great if I had some idea of how skillful my opponents were.
Too many new heroes are good enough to pick now. And Naga is a counter to lycan p much, people also are really liking Rubick who wasn't in Dota 1 CM yet I think? Or only recently and nobody really used him yet.
I'm enjoying it, keep seeing more teams picking heroes they like now, instead of just pick the OP heroes. I remember some captains mode game I played and the other team left all the OP heroes open. I instapicked NP/Chen and other top tier heroes, while they picked Treant and random heroes.
..we got whooped badly because I was too obsessed with getting the good heroes I forgot about our lanes.

That game last night was fun. (Where we conceded after 20 mins, when the score was something like 7-43.) I thought my play was decent, but the other team was SO stacked.
Went and pubstomped 3-0 afterwards before bed. Maybe this is the secret. Lose to the IHL then kill in MM. After being 5 games under .500 I am back over 50% though!

A BKB or a Manta Style are the first two item choices that come to mind for countering silences. Unless you mean Doom Bringer's Doom. You are fucked.

Trying to learn Bounty Hunter right now. Two games in and the common theme seems to be that I get dominated in lane (both times against drow+ support). I've read the guides, watched the vods and what not but being set back in farm from the start makes it hard for me to gank (not to mention my mana is constantly low from all the windwalking to avoid harass).Tips?
I got put on a team with 4 brazilian friends last night. Don't want to be dropping stereotypes on them .... but god damn. Everytime.
God they were SOOOOOOOOO terrible. Naga Siren and Viper in the same lane, Silencer solo mid, Earthshaker and me (Kunnka).
Top lane died about 11 times in 10 minutes to whatever combo was up there.
The game ended up being 27-2 at the end ... I had one of the kills and 2 of the deaths.
I also took Silencer's items off the courier and destroyed them in our fountain when the courier was on his way to Silencer. They probably reported me for that ... hope I don't get banned!

Just mute, report and move on....You'd be surprised how much more pissed off these people get when you mute them (I've told people I'd mute them without doing so just to gauge their response and 9 times out of 10 they get super butt hurt after that).
