Why don't you have a dagon...?

Every time I play Nyx and go for Dagon I don't have enough gold to go for the items I actually want to buff his attack speed + damage and the Dagon ends up being unused for the most part. I understand why it's good for Nyx builds but I'm more into utilizing what he has and buffing his attacks since he's all about ganking/stunning.

Some of the changes to character's recommended items are just... odd. Dark Seer should get Arcane Boots over Phase Boots? Arcane boots are so useless late game for him. Also I don't get hood and pipe recommendations either. I guess since he's an initiator you want him to be able to survive, but you'd think that one would take sheepstick or Shiva's before a pipe.

And blink dagger on Shadow Shaman?

Can you still create custom pages for recommended items? I just started playing Dota2 and saw an old video of a guy doing it, but when I tried, I couldn't see to edit any pages.

Arcane Boots are recommended because DS has very expensive abilities, and his mana pool isn't very high. You can also dissemble the boots if you go for Bloodstone. Hood and Pipe are amazing, they give HP regen and mana resistance. A hood is way cheaper than a sheepstick, it gives a lot of survivability. Plus Dark Seer can farm super easy.

Blink Dagger is great on Shaman when your team lacks (or wants more) initiation. Another great item for Shaman is BKB.

You can disassemble things >_<?

Ok so Bounty Hunter isn't jiving with me at all...I just can't seem to finish people off..

1)Item builds- Phase or Treads? Battlefury first or build into Vlads first? Should I buy a bottle if I'm side lane since I should be roaming between lanes to gank?

2)Skills? Currently my build is this. The only difference is I take one point of Jinanda before level 4..

3)Any tips for people new to BH?

phase -> deso -> bkb -> mkb. vlads/bfly if you're still in the game. max shuriken/jinada around the same time. jinada for easy last hits on creeps + low cooldown (6). 2 points in invis is fine until you cant level shuri/jinada anymore.

Okay, how do you deny again? I thought it was S but that doesn't seem to work (and I am attacking when my creeps have only a fraction of their health)

Add in a medallion of courage early on. It's very effective. Medallion --> jinada hit --> auto attacks --> finish with shuriken if necessary.

2 early-ish levels (somewhere in the first 8 levels) of invis then max jinada and the shuriken. Also, I like SnY on him for speed and hp boosts, both of which he desperately needs. BkB if the enemy has effective stuns, otherwise get that MKB first. IMO.

Oh, and always track kills. Always.

Except most Bounty Hunters open out of stealth so... how are you going to Medallion?

I thought the consensus was that Medallion was a poor item choice? I know it was either Milk or 1.09 that said to not get it. Almost sure it was 1.09.

You get to give yourself team utility. Thats the only reason you should get it. Or you are running a minus armor strat and there is no one else better suited to make it.

You went wrong when you followed a Dotafire guide. They are all shit. Don't do it man. Use the high rated playdota guides.
I always take only 1 level of windwalk and max jinada first and shuriken second. Gives me a lot of early game damage potential.
Use jinada during laning also for free lasthits. I don't see a reason to go BF on BH. Deso and MKB are far better for damage purposes...

Cast from woods then shadowwalk in? Both track and medaillon have a great range.

I've been having a lot of good games as Nyx Assassin.

I really like this hero a lot, though I'm wondering what items I should get for my mana and boots. I usually play with my friend, the keeper of the light, so I do get mana from him time to time.

Why would you announce your entrance O.o?

If you're quick enough most people will not notice the track debuff. Also as it gives you 20% MS bonus you will likely get the target you're going for. I think I'm not losing out on too much of my suprise effect.

Switched from Lina to Ogre Magi and I have to say I'm having a lot of fun being Support. Most of the time I'll go Wand -> Arcane -> Mek -> Forcestaff if it gets that far. As long as I got Health and Mana, I can keep on stunnin'.

You should be using mana boots on Nyx. Thats where you get your mana.

Well the track is fine as long as they're not near any creeps but I'm pretty sure they see the Medallion debuff don't they?

Gonna be playing my first game in a couple of minutes, anyone around to teach me the good stuff ?

I'm familiar with LoL, HoN etc... but not really with this one !

Just played a match where our carry purposefully threw the game after 70 minutes when we had all their mid stuff down.

I hate this game.

By throwing the game do you mean "haha you bastards you babysat me for 70min and now I will go purposely die in their base" throwing or just got caught out of position? There is a big difference.
I hate when people report someone for just making a mistake or playing badly.

I did. It was a pretty even game throughout, a good back and forth with team fights. Our Storm Spirit farmed pretty much the entire game, which I don't mind because he was killing a lot of people. However, near the end of the game, he wants to split push all the time and is never there in the teamfights. Some of my teammates get mad, and SS throws a hissy fit and does stuff like sitting in the base, trying to 1v5 them etc. We managed to get everything down mid, including the ancient towers, so victory is inevitable, right? WRONG. SS is not there to help us in any teamfights, so the enemy team manages to try and make one big push mid. Right when the enemy team is about to attack our T3 tower, SS teleports top and tries to backdoor the ancient. Keep in mind that the creep wave is about half way, and they still have their T3 tower top. Needless to say, he does not outpush the entire team and we lose after 70 minutes when we could have won 15-20 minutes earlier if SS would do anything in the teamfight.

The first one. I never report people for playing poorly (I'd be banned a long time ago), but SS was typing to the other team saying "he's done" and for them to push.

Just had a game where I went 30/9/7 as Riki, but we still lost due to poorly timed DCs on our team near the end game. If we had them, we would have won.

The respawn timers were just too high to fight off an all mid push where they had time to take barracks and both T4 towers in one go.

May have been different if I hadn't had delayed item growth by having to buyback about 3 times.

Also - this was a single draft game.

I know it's kind of "blind pro following" but I usually grab medallion on BH when I play him. Granted, given the high occurrence rate of carries, I'm never the traditional hard carry on my team and I usually shoot for some semi-carrying/ganking early game before transitioning to a harder carry role.

I also max Jinada over shuriken because I'm a newb though I try to grab two levels of shuriken early.

Just had my first rage quit today, not really proud of it but I was playing like complete shit.

My first one in the 40hrs I've been playing this game which is a record for me, got look at whatever positives I guess.

Don't fret too much about item build. I do phasers/drum/ring of aquilas then bkb and deso, switching order based on need, if BKB is even needed. Sometimes I skip drums. Vlads is good on him as well (not as a first item though, get it after your deso/bkb), especially if there's a melee carry. You can disassemble the aquilas, hawk the wraith band and build ontop of the basilus. If you're really rich, consider getting a heart, mkb, or abyssal blade. I've had good success with orchid as well if your team needs a silence. I've never tried manta on him, not sure if clones activate jinada still. There was a bug I remember in an inhouse where someone got manta on him and every single hit activated jinada on the clones. Also not sure how jinada interacts with crit strike, my guess is whatever damage roll is larger overwrites the other one. Anyway, the point is to focus on getting high + damage items to make your jinada do crazy damage, attack speed/agility isn't as good on him.

As long as you don't rush a battlefury and you're constantly trying to gank past level 6 you're a great bounty hunter in my book. I despise bfury bh with a passion and I don't understand why its such a popular build. You could go go out and farm slowly with bfury yes, but you could also actively gank with track and keep the other team down while getting rich.

Skilling him is really wierd. You can max jinada and put two points in invis early and you're a PITA harasser in lane. With two points in invis the duration is longer than the cooldown. If you do that you miss out on shuri stun though to stop tp's/skills.

Maxing shuri first over the two is inadvisable, its mana cost gets steep and past 2 points it doesn't gain as much damage but its mana cost still increases. Mana is very limited for gondar at first.

Bottom line is, Max jinada first, have 2 points in shuri, max stealth, then max shuri. Always skill stealth first. I don't recall the numbers as to what will give you more damage in gank, a max level stealth/jinada first strike with level 2 shuri or a level 2 stealth/max jinada first strike with level 4 shuri. The damage difference is 100, I'd rather go with option one due to mana.

How are you guys building KotL?

I'm tending to work towards tranquil boots and a bracer for survivability, then progress towards shadow blade, eventually disassembling my boots for travel boots so I can safely push all over the map like a boss. Seriously- whole creep waves falling is the best thing, especially if you accurately predict where they'll be by looking at where your creeps are on the minimap.

Keep in mind this is if there is a more traditional support on the team doing all the warding and stuff.

Also, another question- why is it that sometimes my fully charged illuminate will completely desolate an entire creepwave some times, but leave some of the melee creeps with a fraction of health at other times? This is like two identical circumstances- Is the creeps' magic resistance variable or something?
