just started watching last night... finished up the 2nd episode and the only part i didnt like was all the characters they threw at you in the beginning... i didnt know who leonard was when people brought him up because i didnt remember the part when they first introduced his name.

the intro song/video is also painfully slow to watch.. it brings out my inner ADD

so Ive had the goldbox for a few years now (watched a few episodes, and never came back to it)

so so far ive powered through most of them, im about halfway through season 2
josie just came back and they are gonna plant some coke in coopers car to frame him
, I went ahead and spoiled the rest of the season for myself, and watched the final season episode in full (holy crap), and read abit of the spoilers in fwwm (just about cooper), I'll still watch the rest of season 2 but it seems like after they reveal the killer, the series is about to head south fast, that stinks.

Love the series though overall, I actually played deadly premonitions before watching Twin Peaks, and I love them both to death.

Is Alan Wake like TP? or is it a bit overstated? DP for me after seeing twin peaks is about as close as you can get to a TP game without being sued for plagiarism. I think that is one thing SWERY is fibbing about, I think he knows damn well, he just plays dumb for fun/legal reasons :D

I'm on episode 14, and holy crap the show got terrible almost an episode or so after they revealed the killer. They wrapped up the
renaut/coop
er business way too quickly and I prefer cooper in a suit.

I thoight the
BOB part
was a lil wierd as well and not to my liking.

I am a first timer to twin peaks.. I am loving it so far....
enjoying the slow descent into madness, it's my kinda weird..

some parts are cracking me up, in places.... jsut the ott acting in parts or the general insanity, I like it!

also this is making me want to play through Deadly Premonition and Alan Wake Again.

Yep it, IMMEDIATELY goes to horrible. I still love those first 14 episodes so much though that my overall impression of the series is positive. It kinda comes back in the last couple episodes, but it never actually redeems the shittiness of most of season 2, at least in my eyes.

Talk about megabumps - does anyone know of any awesome TP clothing? I once saw a guy with a t shirt of just Laura's face on it (from the credits) and have been hunting for it ever since. I want something subtle but can't find anything that good with my Google skills.

I have this:

that I like but it looks like every shirt from that place is sold out. Maybe try threadless and stuff?

Also, the In the Trees 20th anniversary Twin Peaks Art Exhibition just put out some new merchandise (mugs and a print) http://inthetreesartpreview.blogspot.co.uk/ (this is the only place you'll get "official" merchandise).

You get stuff popping up on other sites too.

What's the place you got it? If they have designs I like I may try and find one. It's just getting there, the only one I like so far is:

The picture could be bigger though.

Mine's from that In The Trees place EliCash linked. Like he said, they're putting up mugs and prints but I haven't read anything about the shirts.

Just started watching this (On Episode 19).

This show is weird. It's also good. And all the girls on it are pretty.

EDIT: Except for Sarah Palmer (ghoulish) and Nadine (scary).

If anyone wants this on laserdisc and has access to Amoeba in Hollywood, they had all of the LD boxes for this when I was there the other day.

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

i rewatched this a couple months ago and i already want to watch it again

Does anybody want to watch this again soon? We could do a GAF rewatches Twin Peaks thing and comment on the episode. (2-3 a week?)

I really like the fact that
Bob won, and that Cooper was beaten. You don't see a downer ending like that very often. It was quite refreshing.
yeah that's such an ending especially
since cooper is so cool and collected and composed throughout the series...to see him possessed at the end is terrifying, although that wasn't necessarily the intended ending it's just really great for the imagination to end with so many cliffhangers

Saw Fire Walk With Me. I don't know why most people hated it. I thought it was good. It's a lot darker than the show, and a little boring, but still good.

Fans, especially casual fans, wanted a direct sequel to the show because it ends on a major cliffhanger. Lynch did the exact opposite and it pisses people off.

Yea, but he returned to the heart of Twin Peaks I think with Fire Walk With Me. What is annoying is that we could've had another Twin Peaks film or two if people didn't completely hate FWWM. I wonder if Lynch returns to Twin Peaks in his head every now and then.

The original FWWM cut was something like four hours. It featured a lot of side characters and side stories that were completely cut out. It's one of the main reasons why the quirky humor was completely eliminated from the film. Fans are petitioning to get some of these scenes on a Blu Ray release.

Yea, it seems more and more unlikely that they'll ever see the light of day. There's a few videos kicking around of the actors talking about the scenes that they were in that were cut. Who knows, some stuff was saved from the cutting room floor for the recent Blue Velvet release.

Mark Kermode's Fire Walk With Me Film Club video is worth a quick watch, only posted this month. He's always been enthusiastic about the film. It really is criminally underrated.

Ah, interesting. I'll have to watch this.

I guess I could see people wanting a sequel instead of a prequel. But since I watched Twin Peaks all at once, twenty years later, the ending didn't really seem like a cliffhanger to me for some reason. (And the second season was really dragging, so I was kind of glad it was coming to an end.)

I think watching the series now, knowing how it ends and what to expect from the movie makes it much easier to enjoy. Though, I do understand why people would hate the film when it was released. Regardless, I enjoyed it and I hope to see a Blu-Ray release some time to complement my Twin Peaks Gold Box set.

Was watching the first season on Netflix before the summer break with some roommates at school, gotta finish up (although I'm sad the show is allegedly going to take a major dive).

Really loving it so far, bizzarre and surreal in a way I can get behind. And the music is awesome.

FWWM is such a great film. I reeeeealy hope we get to see all of the deleted stuff one day. Really want this film on blu.

Man that last TP merch sale sucked. I emailed the minute the sale started and all of thsherrif mugs were sold out in 1 minute. I was really sad about that. Wanted one so bad...

So. A few months ago, I finally finished the series, finishing with the movie, with a couple friends of mine who are Twin Peaks enthusiasts (well, one of them anyway). I have a phrase I use to sum up the whole package:

What. The. Fuck.

What a freakin' mind-fuck! I couldn't believe how insane it was, consistently. I mean, I liked it... but wow. Wow. What the hell. I really didn't know what I was getting into with the whole David Lynch-y-ness I guess.

Cooper was... fucking fantastic. I love that guy <3

Unfortunately, I think my favorite part would have to be the sweater that Billy Zane's character wore a couple episodes before the end of the series. The striped one. I... couldn't contain myself, I laughed until I cried, a good 10 minutes of gut busting, sidesplitting laughter. I didn't even hear what he was saying because I could not take him seriously.

Also watched the series + movie a few months ago and still can't get it out of my head (not that I want to, totally loved it for many reasons). Haven't had the chance to get anyone into it yet but damn if I haven't been talking about it to people, haha. I know at least two who will be really into it, I just need to find the time to watch it with them.

I'm thankful to whoever suggested Bohren & der Club of Gore in one of the other TP threads on GAF, been listening to it all the time while I work and some tracks keep throwing me back to Twin Peaks.

Finished watching Twin Peaks and Fire Walk With Me with my brother a few months ago. We still talk about it almost every day, hahaha. Incredible series!

something twin peaks fans might want to take note of while the thread's bumped: David Lynch guest starred on the show Louie for a stretch. Was a three-part story, so three episodes. Together they work as a kind of brilliant movie. Worth watching even if you've never seen the show before (though you should see the whole show, it doesn't rely on continuity, each episode is a short film basically).

I managed to watch it all on Netflix over the course of a few months this year.

It's officially one of my favourite shows ever. (Shame it had to end so abruptly.)

After all the negativity surrounding Season 2 I've dived in - I had the identity of the killer ruined for me (while looking for Twin Peaks merchandise no less!) but I've now got to that stage in the season anyway.

It was pretty weak up to that point in truth - compared to the first at least - and I've still got a number of episodes to go. I hope it picks up or, at least, doesn't get any worse. And I hope the final few episodes are as good as some of you have said as well!

They are worth it. And the silliness of the second season was even fun to make fun of. My favorite was the lady with a poop tooth.

I thought the last episode was fucking creepy. That Black Lodge scene, I think nothing on TV or video has ever scared me more.

Is it just me?
