Actually he wasn't.
Regardless the important thing is that the OP understands why what happened, happened. Even if what you is true and she lied about certain events, you HARASSED her for an entire month. Do you not think someone would fear for their safety over that? The least you could get out of this, is that you understand why what you did was wrong and learn from it. Otherwise you'll just make the same mistake again, and it might end up being worse.

In hindsight, I should have never been with her at all. Especially learning that I couldn't get the approval of her parents. Though I tried.
In a way she really is. And so am I. Because after jail, you're really made into a criminal. After serving time for something you really didn't do(threaten her life), and you couldn't get out of because you're just an international student. You get your soul sucked out of you.
But like I tried to explain. It was her intentions, her motive. At the time.

I was thinking he sounds like someone with paranoid delusions. Amazing how every step of the way he did nothing wrong and his gf suddenly decides to ruin him, police, judicial system, government, his own attorney all join in on ruining this innocent man who has never done anything wrong. Just one day the entire country of Canada woke up today morning and decided to ruin this guy's life for "not being brown". Story definitely sounds like bullshit, or at the very least terribly incomplete.

No, objectively you are a stalker because you wrote her too many emails. And you weren't put in jail for being broken hearted. Being broken hearted is your responsibility to deal with, not her responsibility to be blamed for. It doesn't give you the right to bombard her with emails. After two are not replied to, why would you send a third, yet alone a fourteenth?

I doubt many people here will understand your laughter, but "big surprise" was also the first thing I thought of when I saw OCAD... I used to go there a few times a month for extra life drawing, but I absolutely couldn't stand the atmosphere of the people or that place for the most part. There are way better art schools to choose from.

I'm well aware of this. My own attorney wanted the case over and done with. But I should have never agreed to a join submission, especially when the crown strong armed him. And after discussing with the police, what should and shouldn't be said in the conviction. They crown went ahead and charged me for everything.
I said nothing that day In court. I listened to my lawyer. And than regretted it. And just wanted to go home.
Truth is, I wish I could prove how unjust my trial was. How no evidence, no rightful arrest. How absolutely nothing. Except her phone-call and her testimony. Took my whole life away. I deserved the chance to continue to go to school. To finish my year. I deserved a to be allowed to leave her alone, after the police was involved. But you put someone in jail. And they can't think straight or get themselves out.
Being threatened by the police, who thought I would beat the case in a retrial didn't help. So I was in jail and that made me give up.
Like I said, by your wording, I'm thinking that's what the OP got out of it.
