Not my video.are you a greekgaffer?
Did you try holding down the power button? That was the hardware reset function on the 3DS but I don't know if they kept it for the XL.

I wish this was available in the US day 1
well, sounds like ill be keeping the feet off my current 3DS cradle and taking precautions then, good to know ahead of time.
Yay it's the blue version! Decided to go with it over red. Playing Fire Emblem on this is going to be soo much fun.
Isn't the AU release date August 23?
Yup Mario's out next week, not the XL. Oops.

Sorry dude![]()
That's alright. Do you know of any deals in Australia? I can't find anything at all.
Is it confirmed it won't be?
3D effect on the old 3DS is better...well at least for me. At first I thought the new 3DS would have a better 3D effect, but after playing Star Fox 64 again, I've got major problems to find the sweetspot on the new model. Old model is easier on my eyes and with the new model I'm constantly moving the 3DS so I can see the 3D. Quite exhausting tbh.
To be able to achieve transparencies, the GBA flickers the sprites on and off. The refresh rate on the 3DS screen is much higher than what Game Boy and GBA had, so to keep that effect they have to put some motion blur on the sprites.
It's the same thing with the Game Boy games on Virtual Console, but it's not as severe on them.

Im still not sure if I'm getting the XL. I have the option to turn in my old 3DS and pay 80 euro's to get it, though the main problem is I havent touched my 3DS in like 6+ months. However, the main reason was because of the small screen size. Still got a couple of weeks to think about this though the offer is available untill august 31st.
The game I got are Pokémon, Zelda and Street Fighter. What do u guys advise me to do? Considering I'm already thinking about if I'd do it, all future games will be bought used.
I believe many people remember playing GBA game on a DS or the backlit SP models (which used screens similar to the DS), which had much less ghosting than the original GBA and SP.
Another issue is that some games (but not all of them) have the brightness set too low, maybe in attempt to emulate the shitty screen of non-backlit GBA models. Mario Kart SC is the darkest one, I think.
Maybe you're holding the unit too close to your face. I haven't used a XL yet, but with the OG 3DS, the further the unit is the stronger the depth is.
Hard to choose between the regular 3DS and the XL, still have two weeks to decide.
I just crumbled and ordered a cradle from Play-Asia. Stupid UK charger bundles... :/
But that has an orange-ish background, of course it's gonna look yellow.
Ok so I just did the system transfer...how do I get all my stuff from the original 3DS 2GB card to the new 4GB card?!
I'm in the UK, and picked the cheapest shipping option. Works out a few quid cheaper than the cradle/charger bundle that'll be released in the UK in a couple of weeks, and Game already, literally forced a charger upon me already as part of their bundle. For 30 in US dollars thats a little steep.
When power save is turned on the screen will go yellowish. The parts that are orange should appear to be orange. All the areas that are white should look white. What's shown in that screen above is atrocious. Based on various pictures though it appears to be a crapshoot on whether or not we'll get a really yellow screen (incredibly warm temp) or just a mildly yellow screen. I'll be returning mine over and over to Target until I get one I like.

How did this not get more attention?
If holding down the power button does NOT work anymore, that's a fucking disaster, imagine having to wait until the battery dies every damn time
really want to know if the hardware reset still works!
I can't believe there is still no word on 3DS trade-ins toward the XL.
I may PM IdreamofHIME because I'm pretty curious about this now. Even if the power button is no longer the hard reset there's got be another one built in. Have any Euro/Japan owners checked the operation manual?
