I'm a little dense today. Is this legit or is Wario trying to fool people.

I don't think so. I expect the Wii U graphics to be easily on par with the next Xbox/PS4.

One technical area where Nintendo excel is loading times (something no-one mentions). The Wii loads games considerably faster than the current Xbox/PS3, and likewise with the DS compared to the PSP.

:) ok... to put it simple: There isn't that much to load?

Uh.....

So I guess launching with black helps them differentiate the Wii U from the Wii, whose primary color was white? That's one way to get people to realize this just isn't a new Wii controller.

... right!

I don't think you can use that argument, the same was true for Gamecube/PS2 where the resolution output was the same (and the PS2 was considerably slower at loading). Nintendo simply have better technology in this area.

I really hope the decision to bundle an expensive controller instead of opting for higher specs inside the console pays off, but so far I can't get excited about it. It seems hard to believe that the Wii U is coming so soon when I feel ZERO excitement for it, unlike every other Ninty console.

Whenever I see the words "on par" I immediately laugh, because I'm fairly positive the Wii U will neither be on par with the 360/PS3 or the NextBox/PS4.

It would make a lot more sense for Nintendo to heavily market the black variant, to further differentiate the Wii U from the stereotypically white Wii.

I think the white Wii U will still be an option.

In the name of GAF: we had SO MANY threads about this console's power. If you are interested, check out the Wii U speculation thread.

BUT please don't shit on this thread with that stuff. I want to witness a discussion about the console with no regards to its inner life - just once.

What? Anyway like said there's a speculation thread over in community

pikmin 3 day 1 or not? The only question that matters. (although I'm buying anyway for pikmin so might as well jump in on day 1 for launch fun, always a good time to be had)

Yeah that seems like a safe bet.

Have to say that I'm disappointed that kept the console's design as it is.
Would have loved to see something more unique and eye catching.
Even the GameCube, which got a lot of hate for no reason had a very distinct design which game the system itself personality.
The Wii U seems to be as nondescript as possible. Very vanilla looking.

God, I hope so...

Lol, stop it.

And these were the colors for the Wii back in 2005:

In the end, only the white one was available for the vast majority of it's lifetime, with black and red coming near the end.

True, but I don't recall Nintendo announcing that the Wii will actually launch with all those colors though. This time they specifically mentioned it'll come in both white and black.

on POS materials or just PR? Because if this is POS that would much more strongly suggest black at launch
