lol that apple game. I wonder if Valve will do anything about it, it's so obviously stolen it's not even a maybe case. It's a full on steal.

What's the best way to use Winderruner's ultimate? I tend to use it against towers. Stunned players are an option, but it's a rare ocasion when the mana spent is worth the damage dealt.

Towers only really. Perhaps chasing as well, but it's really not very good and should be skilled last, passing it up at 6 until 10 or 11 at the earliest.

I have no clue. But it seems if you combine her haste skill and her ulti to orb walk for a kill if need be. In other cases tie someone to a tree and ulti them to death [i recommend you get at least a Crystalys (only if her ulti allows crits) before doing this]. Again this only from what I've seen of WR I'll try her tonight to see if this makes sense.

Edit. It also seems it's not worth getting till later levels.

In addition to what others have said, it can also be situationally useful against a tanky hero, particularly if they have a BKB and can't be immediately whittled down with magic nukes. If they turn on you, Windrun's complete Evasion can let you stand in that situation longer than most other heroes would. At the very least it can mean 3-4 seconds of a key hero not standing still and unloading on your team (or losing a sizable chunk of their HP if they decide to ignore you), situation and hero dependent.

I typically save it for tower pushing or 1v1 ganking if I can catch one of theirs alone in the jungle trying to get some farm. Unless they're a carry with really strong escape skills, it's not hard to sneak up on someone, shackle, pop your ulti and do plenty of damage. If they're not dead by the time they're unshackled and run away, or if they fight back, pop your Windrun and Powershot as needed, and chase them down. Shackle should be up again if necessary to put them down.

I normally only use it in teamfights if we have the stuns and need a surefire kill on someone to prevent a huge disable or AOE nuke or something. Don't be too stingy with it if it means the difference between their Enigma or Tidehunter getting their ults off, but it's pointless if you're not focusing someone down as a Powershot would be more damaging to a few low-health supports.

I am getting a new found love for maelstrom. This item is just a+ tier on prophet. I've been experimenting with it as an item for dk and it speeds up his jungle and lane farming so much. Mjolnir you can hold off until later, but this item is so worth it for 2.6k.

I want to experiment on it with sylla sometime, I saw it was used in the defense recently. I'm wondering how a jungle sylla midas -> maelstrom would go. I'm sure radiance is bar none the best 20-25 minute item for sylla, but if you can't make that goal, I think mael might be a good option.

I'm also trying weigh the advantages of AC vs. Mjolnir on dk as well. Does anyone know if stacking armor has diminishing returns or a cap?

edit: Nvm I read a useful mechanics page on playdota, No DR and No Cap. Guess it comes down to weighing whether you and your team needs more physical protection vs. more damage.

Maybe I'm crazy but I've been seeing Maelstrom on the bear more often then Radiance in the last few pro games I've watched. With the quick-pushing meta losing steam in favour of slightly longer, hard-carry focused games I think we'll be seeing Maelstrom over Radiance quite a bit.

I keep noticing people barely pick strength heroes in pro games. I actually mostly see int heroes, with an agi carry. When I look at the list the only consistent pick are Tide and SK really. Sometimes a Shaker.. so mostly supports as well.

Chaos knight and lycan always banned :(

Besides the one you listed, I think brew is picked a good amount. I think its because out of all the strength heroes, theres only 2-3 pushers. Beastmaster, who's aura is more for minion heroes, Lycan, who is banned and Dragon Knight, which I'm guessing isn't picked because of how much farm he needs.

Brew is great and picked sometimes but not really a lot either. Not anymore at least.

There are 23 str heroes right now, 28 agi and 36 int. So str also has the lowest amount of heroes, and includes some heroes like Alchemist and Huskar lol.

Are any of the unreleased str heroes top tier picks/bans?

Husker needs a buf or something. He gets stomped pretty easily. But then all the low levels will complian hes op.

Dat morph escape! Amazing help from Bambo as well, blocking the bear with his manta illusions and a nice fissure to help as well. Amazing play.

Seems like Tauren Chieftain has been kinda popular recently, really dissapointed that it didn't make it before TI2.
