A broken clock is right at least two times a day! Wheres Stegman gonna settle when all this NOW dust falls. Amazing talent, some stunning panels in that issue. Specially love his big eyed 90's Spidey. Have never liked the smaller eyed versions.

I have absolutely 0% interest in where both F4 and FF are going though it seems, FF especially reeks of an early death. Don't think Marvel really has any idea what to do with them post-Hickman.

I could see him ending up on one these "Legacy." level books, whatever they are. (The ones where it's a Spurrier instead of like a Hickman writing)

Ryan Stegman is sooooo good, they immediately took him away from B-tier Spider-Man title after 5 issues. Surely he'll be on something cool come December.

Scarlet Spider just gives me that 90's hit of comics I've missed.

Stegman on Uncanny X-Force, Avengers or Secret Avengers would probably please me. Just hopefully something I read. I definitely want Marvel to have far more longstanding duo's. I half feel like I stuck with Ultimate Spidey through thick and thin because it was this just single vision run, writing and art, until all the Loeb shit totally started filtering through to fuck everything.

After last months thread, I do wonder where Larroca is gonna fall now. Would quite like him to take a year off and cleanse himself of Greg Land'ing and remember how to draw awesome again. One More Sawyer Trace: last few years of his career didn't happen.

We'll be making the switchover to actual RDJ (or his pornstar equivalent) soon, and endless Hot Toys Iron Man figure poses! Pepper Potts with eyes closed and tonsils waggling in readiness for something suspiciously off-panel, I just can't wait.

Defenders is cancelled.

I fucking hate all of y'all for not buying it.

I was super pumped up for the Fraction/Allred FF news, but that just fucking ruined the vibe. Fuck shit piss y'all. Fuck shit piss.

I'm confused- I thought Scott Lang was dead, but the article says that his daughter was killed? What happened to the other Ant-Man in Secret Avengers, who got replaced by a robot double? Confusing!

Defenders is cancelled.

Thought this was always intended to be a limited series due to low sales right from the start...

If ever confused about comics and reappearing dead characters, defer to expert Vigo the Carpathian:

I am so disappointed to see Scott Lang back now. That means Eric is on the way out.

He's the best Ant-Man, goddammit.

Black Ant for Black Ops team alongside Black Widow if he gets a route to redemption and dat black symbiote?

So batman 12 is that good huh, been enjoying the series a lot but felt court of owels ran an issue or 2 too long. Can't wait to read later.

It's a nice little sidestory with a sort of bare minimum of Batman.

He is working on The Joker story arc now that will be out in a couple months.

Who's doing #0?

Really late to the party here, but it seems i have to check out Batman... is that the only Batman title out of the "New 52" worth following?

The early arc of Batman & Robin with "No Body" was pretty great I though. It hasn't been as good since then but hey, it's got Damian. The art I go back and forth on hating and loving, the characters are drawn too fat sometimes for my liking.

Nightwing's been pretty decent. Good art, too. Batman Beyond has been OK.

People really hate Detective Comics but I've found it to be passable with great art.

I'll let you know about the others when I get through Catwoman (supposedly horrible), Batman: The Dark Knight, and Legends of the Dark Knight.

Batman 12 was awesome. I think it's my favorite from this Run so far. I think Batman stories function really well when he's not center stage.

I feel this way about him too. Having him as the primary vessel that the story is told through brings us too close to him, in my opinion.

I think most everybody here knows I don't really like Batman, but I do actually like the idea of Batman. It's just that we know so much about who and what the Batman is that it heightens the absurdity inherent in the concept of a normal man that has mastered anything and everything relevant to his identity in 25 years (and that's a lot of stuff to learn).

He'd be more enjoyable to me if he could be played up as a figure whose significance is driven by people's belief in the superstition surrounding him, but instead, they try to play him too straight and keep us inside his head.

However, I know that's probably not really the ideal way to sell comics about him.

^Funny, that's how I feel about Wonder Woman! I start to like her when it isn't all Paradise Island this, and name that Greek god that.

I don't like when they take her back to Paradise Island or involve the gods to such a massive degree either. They start to detract from her. Ares and Circe can stay, but everybody else needs to go home, Hippolyta included. Those things can be fun in small bursts, but having such a large focus on them just takes away from who she is.

Her first act of importance on the road to becoming Wonder Woman was lying to everyone on her island (and Diana is all about Truth, so that's a big fucking deal!) so that she could fight against her peers and win the opportunity to leave her home and all of her people.

Every time they have her go back to the Amazons, that just weakens her, conceptually, more and more.

I'm hoping when WW meets up with Batwoman that she'll turn a corner. Need to get Azzarello off this book ASAP.

Last I heard, Azzarello's run is the highest selling WW has been in a while. So he's likely in for the long haul. Guess I'll go read Rucka's run like I've been planning on forever. lol So hype for the Batwoman cross over.

More updates from my haul this week:

Really liked the play between Batwoman and Batgirl in Batgirl #12. It's an interesting dynamic since Batwoman is so ostracized from the rest of the bat-family.

The pay off in Spider-Men #4 was good too. I'm still kind of wary of the whole thing, but it is pretty cool having 616 spidey bounce off the ultimate characters..

Angry Angsty Red She Hulk Betty was too weird for me. But I still had every book. I guess we'll never see the end of this Intangible Infinity Engine arc.

While we're on the subject of Batman (are we?), what is the deal with them turning him into a Tony Stark wannabe? Seems like every time I see a picture from a New 52 Batman story, the guy's wearing some kind of mecha power armor.

We kinda shifted to WW, but sure. We can talk Bats. lol But yeah, I've been noticing that Batman is getting more and more armor lately. The heat armor from Synder's Batman I was cool with, since I figured he'd made it in case he had to fight Mr. Freeze, but the secret armor he had in the Batmobile (or was that the Batmobile itself) was just random.

I'm just amazed they keep trying to relaunch it. Its like Alpha flight, every so often the book is launched again and the we all get to see how long it lasts this time.

All I want is for Diana to be the focus in a book called Wonder Woman.

Have to agree with that. I'm kind of done with this story arc that started in issue 1 basically. It's been a year of the same basic arc, time for something different. I like the mythology stuff, but I feel like the book is being written for a 24 issue trade.

Really enjoyed Batman #12. I always have liked "batman from someone else's point of view". Also, dont want to spoil anything, so ill just say the main characters didn't feel cliched, as sometimes happens in comics.

I'm sure this question gets asked a lot but how many of you have switched to digital? I've been reading The Dark Knight Returns on my iPad but it just doesn't feel right for some odd reason. I guess I've gotten too used to actual physical copies.

I'm almost exclusively digital now. It's great.

Bought Hack/Slash after listeing to a comic podcast. You guys/gals got any good horror comic recs?
Not Hack/Slash.

I feel like just saying that would be a dick move so here are some suggestions:
Hellboy and the other Hellboy Universe books
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing
From Hell
The Goon (not really horror, but it's got elements)
Locke and Key
Crossed (this is a hard recommendation because I feel like maybe it does go too far visually)
28 Days Later (it's a comic that is best read after the two movies, if you can get the whole series for $25-30 or so, grab it)
There were some horror anthologies (Tales from the Crypt, Creepy, Eerie) that I hear were great.
If you bend the rules a bit and include Preacher, that's probably my favorite long series right there.
Proof (great monster series from a few years back)
People love Sandman, I don't but it's worth mentioning. So is American Vampire.

I feel like there is a lot more options with non-American comics for horror but I'm not well read enough.

I always thought Batman: Arkham Asylum was a horror book as well though it does have Batman in it.

Why is it that when I look for digital copies of DC's new 52 comics, I only see issues that were originally released in 2011? Does DC actually hold off on digital publication until the end of the calender year or am I missing something?

What do you mean? Comixology, for example, has all the new 52 stuff up to this week's releases.

DC Comics are released digitally day and date with the physical copies. You should be able to find every thing.
