Why else would I do not one, but two OTs for a failed mobile OS? I'm just asking in advance, in case they're ready to negotiate a new contract with me. I wasn't quite happy with payment for the second WP OT. That's why it got delayed.

I've had about 1/3 of all people I've shown the have a negative reaction. I've had a wide range of reactions from one friend who played with my computer and claimed he'll be "switching to WP8 and W8 this fall", to one friend who told me "this is going to fail so hard".
My family has been kind of neutral mostly because they just don't care, my father will upgrade because it's cheap and the newest OS, my mom won't notice a difference other than the sudden lack of 4 billion toolbars on her IE.
Most people I've shown it to are impressed by the load time and speed of the thing, even those who don't "like" it.
There's my anecdotal experience showing people the OS, yeah it feels kind of like being a salesperson for the OS but I used to work at Best Buy back in the day so I kind of am my social group's defacto tech salesperson.
There's a lot to be excited for, there's alot that could pan out, there's a lot that might not. Either way: October 26th is turning out to be a pretty interesting day in the tech world.
(That's how you express your opinion without implying those that disagree with you are morons, everyone should try that.)

My anecdotal experience has been mostly positive.... the one negative is most people didn't get the hot corners and how certain things are only there like search, sharing, etc. Also attribute this to the lack of a tutorial because I did not give them any intro. That said pretty much everybody loves the metro UI and its apps.
My dad also didn't "like" not being able to close apps (but once I explained the reasoning behind it he understood) and then showed him the drag from the top thing if he really must close something.

people need to learn, that once you dont look at the mouse while going for the hot corners, it is much faster. just move the mouse to a corner very fast and bam you're there.

Well folks that about wraps things up here. You guys get started on the OT and when you are ready we'll send it off for focus testing.
Once things go well there then we can release to manufacturing sometime next week.

This thread... this thread... I had to go into 200 post view just to gleam enough meaningful from a single page. Worst of, it's always the same thing... the same arguments. The same answers that were given months back.
Sorry. Not venting at you. I'm just hoping for a good OT. There's little the OP can do to help that but a title that doesn't get people start off on the wrong foot as to what the thread is about I think is about one of the only few things that can be done.

Nah. It's a shit OS. Don't bother with it. In fact, this will probably destroy Microsoft as a company and give prominence to Andriod, iOS, and Linux as legitimate desktop OS for the mass consumer.
