why

You have to click somewhere after making your purchase to download a launcher that will download the game.

Tried this, music cut out during a boss fight =/

God dammit really? My download finishes in 2 minutes, don't know if I'll have time to reach the first boss because I'm fucking tired. :(

I'm playing this with an SNES controller, it feels... surreal.

I think I'll try the SNES controller too, I have a Retrode at hand so why not.

Any other way to make it appear? I already clicked away from the page and order history is nowhere to be found.

*edit* - went back to the checkout page and it's completely empty. Wtf.

It's not just boss music that cuts out. Just let the bomb run music play too and it'll cut put. I think it's struggling to loop.

I'm never, ever, getting the ???-enemy skill again.

Hmm... I'm near a boss, I'll see if it happens to me too.

Its true, if its the same song, after a while the music just stops.

It just did it to me. :(

Guess I'll stick with the PC stuff, damn.

EDIT: The videos look fantastic compared to their OGPC counterparts, that's a neat upgrade. 'Night GAF.

Bwahahaha. Behemoths cast ???? more often than Jerseys, I found (but they're only around one section of the game).

If you attack the Jersey, it will switch to the second form which will never cast ????. Do not attack it until it uses it. I think after you attack it, there's a bug or something that renders that particular Jersey useless for casting/learning ???? cuz it won't switch back so you'll have to use another one.

Man, you're going fast!

Bah, I'm chickening out :( Got Vincent but stopping progression for today... I'm gonna grind for an hour or two then go to bed... I thought I was gonna 100% this before bed, but I am a disgrace...

I just fought a boss, I but the battle system on "wait" and just let it sit there and loop, everything worked just fine.

I wonder what's up with this. I'll post if I have a problem with the music, but so far so good.

I've finished FF7 3 or 4 times and have a strategy guide and I doubt I could 100% it in a day.

I didn't say "in a day" though :p

Maybe the OGG glitches are a metadata issue.

Example:

Also there's a bitrate difference: 128kbps vs 192kbps
Some of that looks potentially important. Now I just need to find some software where I can make an edit and try it on a know broken song.

I've spent almost an hour trying to figure out how to give Square-enix my money, but I've failed. Is their captcha generator in the payment tool broken? I've tried three browsers.

Ah, I think I see where I was confused. The captcha was part of account registration, not paying for the game. I had to install freaking Safari of all things to get the image to show up. Craziness.

The site refuses to work for me. Constant errors, not sure if it's browser related or if the site itself is playing up.

Earlier today the account pages loaded pretty slow for me and I had to restart them in my browser. It connected after a few tries though. I guess a lot of people are trying to access it?

wow... just woke up, realized I had been sleeping infront of my computer playing FFVII. No joke, I slept for like 40 minutes and my neck hurts ._.

*continues on*

Still testing. Can't figure out what's making PSX music crash.

I have a weird question: How the hell do you run away from a battle using an Xbox 360 controller?

Map Page Up and Page Down to the shoulder buttons.

Man, you're are playing like it's 1997! How many times you play through it in all?
I remember beating the game with friends over and over again during 1997-2000, so I'd say 10 times in those three years. After that, I've done a yearly playthrough so 12 times since 2000 sounds accurate.

You probably know it by heart lol. But even then after 13 times I still find new stuff, and new party and materia combinations I never used before. One of the best games of all time still!

Like it's 1997, baby! (Me gaming on mute on the left side while watching Corrans stream with sound on the right side)

What the? Is this the original PC version if you had that Yamaha card? That actually sounds really really good :/ Some of the songs really pop more than the PSX version :o

I'm tempted to opt for these recordings instead of the PSX music now... Wow!
It was actually a Yamaha software synth program that could by used instead of the default Windows FM synth for anything with midi music

I kind of remember it being a pain in the ass to get working right back in 1998. Also the original PC port's 3D Accelerator support was fucking horrendous. You need like a Riva TNT card or something and I had a Voodoo 1. It was like the only game at the time that didn't support Voodoo cards.

Grinded from 21 to 42... time to progress some ._.

Just saw the achievement-list that's floating around the nets. Is it me, or is the list they put together for this game, staggeringly mundane? It's pretty much all "Here's an achievement for doing something you would have done normally while playing the game."

It's ridiculously arbitrary. The achievements don't count for anything other than your own personal satisfaction anyway.

Okay, after a bunch of testing, I got the PSX music to play through the entire intro bomb run, which would always crash before. The problem was the lack of the "LOOPSTART" Meta Tag in some files.

ob.ogg plays both in the very beginning when you get off the train and during the first boss (and the timed sequence afterwards.) Whenever it reached the end of its loop, the music crashed. I tested this by timing the loop against the length of the file. Once "LOOPSTART: 0" is inserted, the problem disappears. Some songs have LOOPSTARTs other than 0, but for those that didn't, it was probably assumed that it would just default to 0.

So here's the -Fixed- FF7 Fixed Music: http://www.gamefront.com/files/22130809/Fixed+FF7+Fixed+Music.zip
All songs without "LOOPSTART" have had them added.

Rocket Town music is solid!

This seems like such an odd release. I really would like to see this on Steam, and for a ≤$5 price too (considering I have the PS1 discs, know about emulators, and even have the friggin Eidos boxed trapazoid PC release, I feel that is justified).

Always-on Internet DRM is pretty 'lol' for this too. A classic game getting that is almost sacrilegious. And what exactly are they protecting against?? It's going to get hacked and pirated.

Guess I'm gonna wait.
