Tennis - General Discussion

Also doesn't help that Fed seems to be in Jesus Mode when he actually gets a serve in.

And Fed games have been all aces, this may be the fastest set ever.

lol, what did the match run? 1hr 30minutes, if that?

Djoker pulled through a bit in the 2nd set, partly because he started to play better, but partly because of Fed's 10 unforced errors in the 2nd set.

Hopefully this will pave the way for Fed to win the US Open!

This is ridiculous. How is this even possible at that age? Bagling djoker on a hardcourt.

It was actually not that uncommon, that great players showed their best tennis from 27-32.

Because of the counter puncher tennis of the modern age people thought that Federer would not be able to keep up. The problem however is, that the counter punchers are destroying their bodies. Nadal for example is having real problems, Murray had to learn that he had to play more aggressive or else he would also destroy his body before wining a titel and even Djokovic is suffering.

Federer however is still in top shape, because he never used a play style that was destoying his body so while the others are always facing possible breaks because of injuries he is enjoying his golden years. He won 9 titles in the last 12 months, that's a lot. Maybe he will be playing for another four years and may still win a lot of titles and because he has nothing to prove anymore he could become the living nightmare of Nadal, Djokovic and Murray.

LOL, if Murray keeps pushing, he's not winning a GS period. Nothing to do with his health.

I couldn't get home in time. >:( Missed Federer bageling Djoker, I doubt something like this can repeat anytime soon.
And second win over Djokovic in a row. :D

Also before we start discussing that rafa's career is over, can we please remember hes 26?
The same age Björn Borg retired.
Tennis is a punishing sport, both physically and mentally and much harder to overcome injuries in.
Having said that, the arguments for Nadal's career being finished have been unconvincing.
