It was datamined from the game. Its a texture from a globe that is in some place of the world. Making a guess, could be from the Durmand Priory HQ.

But I would still like to join Gandara with the rest of the eu players massive. Should I boot up the game asap because the world will stop accepting new members if it gets overcrowded, or do I not really need to be worried?

Asap, just get your character made and you'll never have to worry about getting into the server.

Plenty of space for expansions then. Personally, I would rather see a new area of the world rather than going back to Cantha or Elona.

I thought about the dyes, but I figured since the armor is partly sold on nostalgia, it should at least come in the default colors of the original armor. Especially since black/gold are both rare dyes.

That's my point, I'm almost sure those are the models with some random dyes (notice all three use the same colors), and almost certainly not their actual default dyes. If I remember correctly, when you preview a piece of armor you see it with the color scheme you have on your current armor; those are most likely simply whatever that guy had on at the time.

Yeah, I totally see why a person would want it to switch, I was just speaking directly related to him needing it to switch saying he wasn't left handed and was just clarifying.

Well, he did say he was curious. I assumed he wanted to know if a lefty could use it.

That's likely the error you'd see if the login server were down in which case they are.

It means that you violated section 37B of the contract signed by you. It states quite clearly that all logins shall become null and void if - and you can read it for yourself in this photostatic copy: "I, the undersigned, shall forfeit all rights, privileges, and licenses herein and herein contained, et cetera, et cetera... Fax mentis incendium gloria cultum, et cetera, et cetera... Memo bis punitor delicatum" It's all there, black and white, clear as crystal. You stole fizzy lifting drinks. You bumped into the ceiling which now has to be washed and sterilized, so you get nothing. You lose! Good day, sir.

That or you just won't be able to login until the start of the headstart period beginning August 24/25.

Wish I had that kind of patience. I considered giving up the ability to buy decent food just so I could get this game earlier but alas I'm too old and spoiled for the ramen diet.

It's part patience and part not wanting to be so frustrated when the servers go to their knees. Nothing worse than coughing up $60 for a game, bring it home and find out you can't play it because X million other people are trying to do the same thing.

Given my immense backlog, I think I can hold off for a few weeks.

Edit: By the way, I thought I could wait until Christmas for Darksiders 2 and wound up picking it up on Saturday. So we'll see how well my plan for patience lasts for GW2!

I don't think this game will have those terrible server problems. Probably WvW queues and lag in heavily populated areas, but not login issues. At least I hope so.

Part of the fun with MMOs is being there when it starts, though. Going through all the bugs and the server instability is worth it for that feel when no one knows what to do.

The possible initial launch issues is making me want to hold back as well. What good is a head start if you can't log into the game. That and I'll be away that weekend as well so no need to rush and get the game now that I have the client. Then there is also the possibility of it maybe going on sale soon after launch on Amazon.com or somewhere else if only for a day or so. Seen that happen several times recently.

Is this GAF guild only for the US servers? I'm having a hard time keeping track on what region/server people are talking about. We should have a dedicated EU thread.

Also, judging from the betas and stress tests would you say guardian is a fun class to play? From my minimal time in the game I think I've settled on going as one.

All of GAF is one guild - NA and EU included. NA is rolling on stormbluff, EU is rolling on Gandara. Guilds can span multiple servers. Any EU player is also welcome to roll on stormbluff (or the other way aound) as well
