Court set to rule on Apple vs Samsung case in a few minutes

Honestly, the only real effect from all this will be the people on the bottom of the totem pole who may be laid off to cut costs.

I assume it's the way the interface allows you to drag/pull objects beyond the limits and then they 'bounce' back to their limits when you release. It's one of those things that feels too natural to patented - but for reasons I'll never understand somehow they could patent it, I'm sure I've seen it used long before apple even became popular (again).

Edit: So apple is getting all those tall Iphone screens for free then?

A lot of the infringement was clearly willful. I have been following this case for a while. Yeah its crazy to see so much go in favor of apple but to think that the case was going to swing the other way would have been a joke.

A troll calling me a troll. I feel honored.
 
So does this mean Apple can sue anyone on these specific patents with little to no trouble in the court system?
 
Yeah, I think Samsung on all their claims vs Apple, judging by all these nos.

The dollar amount isn't much of an issue. The real fact of the matter is that some of these patents were clearly invalid (for those of us in this industry)

nothing is rigged, the evidence was there that samsung copied apple on many a things. It's one thing to say this is bullshit and it shouldn't matter if they did because it's all basic stuff. But the evidence was there.
 
So I guess I should probably count out getting a Galaxy S4 when my contract is up next year, huh?

Ask RIM, Nokia and Microsoft how they can think outside the box and make something else. Or even Samsung with the S3 and the Note.

Well the jury should decide what's legal, not what's best for the consumer.
Its the government's job to make things fair for the consumer (except the US gov is bought by businesses).
 
Can't feel bad for Samsung. The only large corporation who had no shame to go out of its way to produce borderline Apple KIRFs, from packaging to hardware to software to wall chargers, cases, etc. Fuck that. That was unfair to Apple and all the other non-shameless companies that compete for the same marketplace, including the rest of Android OEMs.
 
Well at least the jury spent a large amount of time deliberating on the massive amount of decisions they had to make...oh wait, they didn't.
 
Do these patents expire - or do apple now have a death-grip on these features until the end of time? Seems like it's competitors will have to either fork over a lot of dosh or cripple their phones in order to not get sued.
 
As a Windows Phone fanboy all I have to say is that Microsoft and Nokia are sitting pretty right now with their cross licensing agreement with Apple.

Samsung needs to bring the heat to Windows Phone. Give us a Galaxy W. WinPhone 8 is the real deal with that NT kernel powering it.
