He's as good as Bebe on the wing :(

Bayern have Shaqiri, sell us Ribery.

^ He's played Welbeck out on the wing a couple of times though it's not his best position. Wouldn't mind if we sold Nani and brought in Dembele seen as it looks like the team could be looking to play through the middle more this season and Dembele can play in CM or even the wing.

Yes, I know Welbeck has been played on the wing a few times but he's generally very mediocre when played like that. Just look at the Everton game. The times he does well when starting on the wing is when he drifts to the middle which defeats the purpose of playing him on the wing in the first place.

Depends on how shaqiri performs on the '10', we dont really need him but i still like the "FC Bayern Germany" idea and i'd rather have Bayern buy him than drop another 50m on Götze.
I think he's a pretty solid player. If last year was any indication, we need to be more diverse and creative on the field. I feel like we'really too much like a machine--a machine that can only work one way.

I had Hazard in my team, but switched him out for Silva right before the start of the season.

fml

I did it for Oscar since I figured he'd play as much and was a little cheaper. Decided to take the 4 point loss and replace Kun and swap out Oscar for Hazard.

Wtf GAF I cant sleep because I randomly cant stop thinking about dying, not that I think I'm dying just I remembered I'm gonna die one day and it freaks me out and I still can't get my mind around my mind just stopping being. I'm 28 I should be used to this concept by now, fuck off brain and let me sleep you massive dildo!

And with that Jeffy Joyless Jefferson brings down your bank holiday weekend!

I suggest reading history. It helps me when I get up tight about life/death.

Some middle ages history or even WW2. After reading it I feel much better because there is no chance I will die as badly as many people did then or have as miserable a life.

Enjoy the 21st century life. It is a relatively great one!

Most fun I've had this gen since Mirrors Edge. I honestly don't want this game to end.

Kinda feeling like I am developing that problem.

Edit: Nice, Wilde Things moved up to 33 in the GAF Fantasy league, just ahead of DC :P Tevez coming through as Captain with 24 points.

I want to play Sleeping Dogs but my backlog is huge so I'm going to wait for the Steam holiday sale at the end of the years. Besides, I've got the Diablo 3 bug again and FIFA 13 will be out soon anyway.

Anyone else playing D3 in here?

Kagawa said:
Yes. We seem to pass the ball sideways a lot, but I want team-mates to start giving me the ball from all areas and angles. I need to speak to them about this, because I want them to have the trust in me to play the ball forward.

You tell 'em, Shinji. <3

I have a huge backlog too (just finished Uncharted 3, want to start BioShock/Portal 2), but Sleeping Dog's and Max 3 are apart of a Toys R U two for $60 sale next week and I'll probably bite. I'm also getting pressed to pickup Madden to play with a few of my out of state buddies. And then PES is in early October, which takes up most of my annual gaming time.

The good thing is I'm really only interested in the two Assassin's Creed games this fall, so I'm not planning on spending much this holiday. Hopefully Nintendo won't breakout any surprises with the Wii U and make me seem like I have to buy one.

Gene Gnocchi to Mazzarri (Napoli) at La Domenica Sportiva: "Walter, I have the DVD of Juve's celebrations in the Supercoppa if you're interested"

"Tell me: did you send Curiosity to Mars b/c you wanted to observe the Martians' training sessions?"

Must...not...think...of...the...possibility...deDay...could...happen.
Where are you hearing this? We told you even before Roma's conference he's not leaving Roma. And especially now, after going public with his intentions to stay!

Fucking match. It's greater than great. I have died supidly a couple of times in Dark Souls for not paying attention to the game :lol
I play better when my subconscious autopilot takes the front seat. :p

it kinda reminded me of del piero's goal out of a free kick against madrid in the champions league a couple of years ago. iirc, pellegrini was madrid's manager back then. casillas had set up the lousiest three-men wall ever, and all del piero had to do was to put his foot against the ball, haha.

Why bud? :( Why?

Sir Alex Ferguson was caught by C+ cameras at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, home stadium of St. Etienne, today. There to watch Kurt Zouma? #MUFC

I assume one of you muppets caught this.

Edit: Yep, Clegg. The anti-Muppet.

juve fans: "let's use a match where our opponent was robbed blind as a good showcase for this not actually very convincing complaint, that should be witty."

No one is saying it wasn't a goal except for Milanisti. Which is weird, we did you a favor by beating one of your direct competitors. ;)

DAT PASS
Shaqiri <3

It really was a great pass. If only Robben had a right leg. (Of course it still worked out thanks to Mandzu)

You can consider yourself lucky that you don't watch German "Sportschau". The guy commenting on the Bayern match mentioned twice that "Shaquiri lost his place in the starting eleven in this game". Never mind that Ribery was out sick, or that Shaq played well. (in the second half)

Martinez time today? I am thinking yes

On Saturday FC Utrecht played their 3rd match of the season, at home vs newly promoted PEC Zwolle.

It ended as a 1-1 draw, and it was terrible....
Gamespeed was way too low, there was no iniative at all, terrible passing, and a record-low on the attendance-side. (less than 15.000 people, which is the lowest in 10 years.)

Hopefully it was an incident, but tbh I think we'll have a lot more of these kind of games this season.

What is Silva doing? Stalling over his contract? Not that I can transfer him out of my FF team, but i could put him on the bench I suppose.

David Silva? He's been cack for months so Mancini had dropped him.

Wants £200k a week.

The common perception is everyone at City is on £200k a week. It's far from it, I think Silva is on £130k a week IIRC.

Hope you pull it together. And that Oar gets enough playing time to develop.

Oar probably won't be getting much playingtime I'm afraid, as the coach switched to a 4-4-2 formation, and Oar is a typical left-winger, not a left-midfielder...

Sarota is doing good this season so far though, the Australian of which we didn't expect anything anymore...

Spurs must have their replacement ready.

Apparently we've had bids rejected for Isco of Malaga and Willian from Shaktar. Hopefully we try for Dembele as well. Huddlestone on loan plus £10m ought to do it.

Farewell, Modders. You were a great player for us and deserve to play for a club like Real Madrid, we failed to match your talent with results on the pitch. At least the Clasicos will have a North London element now (Song/Fabregas v Modric).

CLUB ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH REAL MADRID AND TRANSFER OF LUKA MODRIC

The Club can announce that it has signed a partnership agreement with Real Madrid FC and reached agreement for the transfer of Luka Modric, subject to medical, to the Spanish club.

The partnership agreement will see the two Clubs working together in respect of players, coaching, best practices and commercial relationships.

Real Madrid FC President, Florentino Perez Rodriguez, said, "The strong relationship and affinity between our two clubs has resulted in the cementing of a longer-term partnership and the successful transfer of Luka Modric. We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years."

Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur, commented, "Luka has been a terrific player for us and, whilst we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership."

Luka made 160 appearances for the Club, scoring 17 goals after joining from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2008.

We wish him well for the future.

DAT PASS
Shaqiri <3

He's ok, but he's no Kuba either.
I'm sure he would have left us (for Liverpool maybe) if Kagawa decided to stay and that would've left us with 3 false 9s/10ers and no natural RW so it's probably for the best that Kagawa left and Kuba signed a new contract. Dude's just too important, more so in combo with Piszczek.

/edit

I feel like it will benefit Utd. It felt like Rooney was in the way at times. Now he can re-adjust to being a proper striker again.

Spurs club statement.

A partnership with Real Madrid? Not too bad at all. You know where all future Real players who need to go out on loan will end up now :p

Or maybe it's similar to Arsenal's partnership with Barcelona.

So when does Bale join Real then?

That's the real reason behind the partnership.

If Real try to buy one of our players then they will get them, partnership or not. Levy isn't the kind of chairman who would let one club have exclusive rights to our players.

Just saw yesterday's highlights. Combined with the parts of the match seen yesterday, it's pretty clear that Allegri is still clueless on how to play without Ibra, even if we managed to do so when he got banned during the last two years. Just like that, it's clear that El Sha still need a lot of time, Bonera is terribad and we need another "prima punta" plus a Van Bommel substitute.

It was the first match of the year, fine. It was Pazzini's first match. As the Curva Sud said, let's wait and see for the end of August, then we'll talk. It's pretty clear that we aren't what we used to be, but I'm still convinced that in Italy only Juve is ahead of us. We could've lost yesterday match even with Thiago and Ibra (and we did so a lot of times in the last couple of years).

I'm not worried, season is still long and everyone will lose a couple of matches. We won't win the scudetto, but a Champions League spot is not out of our reach.
