And chrisG is right I tried to get into melty blood on the pc a few years back and when they found out my background was mostly street fighter/capcom games they did nothing but shit talk me and tell me to go back to my 3rd strike. They were hostile and dickish to me. So I finally took their advice and stopped playing their game.
Sounded like to me exactly the thing chrisg was complaining about.
Granted maybe it was just a few who were playing the pc version of melty blood who were weird jerks. (I think the ps2 had the most up to date version at the time)

Every community has scenes like that. It's just a matter of where you're from. I know of areas where the Melty people are the nicest people in the world and the SF guys are the biggest douches in the world.

The problem is ChrisG doesn't even look like he wants to put in the effort to actually learn the game. If you show the community you don't care enough about the game to spend the time into it and do the research, you're gonna get hate. The fact he didn't even knew what Dustloop was kinda shows he's not very interested in improving his P4A game.

The dustloop thing was an analogy. The new common players won't know what Dustloop is. Chris G KNEW what it was but the common new players WOULD NOT.

My point is no matter how much he plays, he will still get hate. Heck I hate on him in marvel because of things like him giving up a few times. As such it isn't really something to worry about for him I wouldn't think.

I've yet to see a good reason why he should get hate at all for just playing the game, even if it's just from a select few and not representative of the whole community. Anime dude just made this all more complicated and started bringing up other irrelevant issues while forgetting what the main one is, and when he actually responded to the question at hand it was basically just "because Capcom."
