Mass Effect 3: Leviathan Trailer [Out Now]

The dlc missions in the ME series have never been particularly long. I may be remembering incorrectly, but Arrival was like, an hour long.

Oh I think he was expressing some incredulity that Bioware would take the effort to create a viral marketing campaign for a short dlc mission.

Maybe it encompasses all of ME3's upcoming dlc?

Goddamn truthers.

I get the feeling this will be a theme with all the DLC (if there is any after Leviathan). Bioware have to do something to "hype" people up for this DLC and any future DLC. The original Leviathan release topic on BSN never even hit 20 pages and it was up for nearly a month (I clearly remember ME 2 DLC topics hitting hundreds of pages way before the DLC was released)

This to me seems quite an interesting attempt at generating hype, hell I even fell for it till I remembered the ending :-p . So I would give them at least a B+ for effort at trying to generate interest.

That's been the case for all their past DLC. Arrival, Overlord and LotSB. I really see no indication of this changing with this.

I think they've said as much. I remember seeing an interview with Michael Gamble about it being that length. I wouldn't expect any different.

I don't really see a problem with the viral marketing thing though, it's a fun silly way to get hyped.

Yeah i was a bit late to realize what you meant by that post. That marketing for a 2 hours DLC isn't worth it.

I downloaded it... but I can't access it. I'm supposed to go to a lab on the Citadel but I can't find it anywhere... it's not appearing when I access the elevator.

I haven't download this yet, but have you checked the map on each floor? It might be on one of them and not an actual new floor.

When docking with the citadel you get the option of choosing a cab to go to different areas. According to others there should be an option to go to Dr Brysons lab. As far as I can tell this is the only way to get to the lab.

Yup, you get a UI with "Alliance Docks" or the lab which starts the DLC.

SMG got a new upgrade,
mass pulse recoil system
, looks like the Pistol got two new upgrades too,
some cranial thing and ultralight materials.

Haven't downloaded this yet. Trying to prep a post-Rannoch save... Just seemed like a convenient point to start it. >_>

Sound like mods that have been available in multiplayer for a while.
Yep. The mods they excluded from that update are in there too.

Imma stack 'em all on top of eachother with Gibbed's. :D

Yeah, and then there is the rumored(confirmed?) part where the DLC will add some more dialogues to
the Starchild
at the end. But i might as well wait until they show this on Youtube since its just dialogue, unless i really have nothing better to do today. Especially if WoW servers are down longer than expected due to the new content patch.

I played through the end quickly as the game didn't have a save afterwards and I wanted to continue Shepards levels, there wasn't any extra dialog with the DLC but before starting it, though that would be a given, lol.

Also came across an Assault Rifle
Omni-Blade
upgrade, it is a bit lame that these are all MP upgrades they just held back for paid DLC, but then I guess they would have to edit where they were found, though I am just finding them in the shops at the mo.

Wait, you have already beaten Leviathan? I assumed that if the
Starchild
has more things to say, it will happen only after you have beaten whatever boss Leviathan has.

Edit : nvm, after rereading your post, i saw that you didn't start it yet.

So... this has been out for a while on 360 right? Any comments from people here or even BSN on how it is? No need to put heavy story spoilers or anything.

Iffy, I am seemingly 3/4ths of the way through, it is a little longer than I expected.

The first and first half of the second bit is calmer, much like the Kasumi Stolen memory with the bits on a level to walk around and do, then the second half of the 2nd and 3rd bit are just straight up moving around and shooting stuff, which is sadly not very interesting at all.

There are some interesting tidbits of information thrown out,
like that Leviathan was the reason for the Rachni War, much like in ME2 the message hints it was the Reapers that influenced them, I guess they just never said which one, lol
So far though, like Lair of the Shadow Broker, it feels like something that really should have been part of the main game instead of DLC that a lot wont play.

Going into what I would consider the 4th part and the climatic area, here's hoping something cool happens.

Is there many dialogue choices or, like all of ME3, almost half of Shepard replies are automatic? =/

I assume your squadmates never speak too(well other than reused combat quotes), like ME2 DLC?

I've completed it. It took me 2 hours in all and I definitely enjoyed it. Definitely not near LOTSB-quality but no other Mass Effect DLC is.

There are some interesting combat scenarios but nothing amazing. I did enjoy the story and the lore, learning more about
the origins of the Reapers. I'm not sure how people will react to this actually. I'm not even sure about it myself.

They really hyped up the
going underwater part but it must have lasted only 1 or 2 minutes and for the most part it was uninteresting.

Still a ton of auto-dialogue but unlike most ME 2 dlc, there is a lot of squad banter. I also enjoyed the investigative aspect of it all and tracking down Leviathan.

If you didn't like the current game, I can't see this changing your mind but if you enjoyed it, it's definitely worth the price.

8/10

Sucks to hear about auto-dialogues, i was hoping they would learn... guess i have to stop hoping that ME4 will correct that. =/

At least having squad banter will give me an excuse to try it more than once just to hear the comments from other squadmates i didn't take the first time.
