I want Barca, City, Juve. We will fail, but it'll still be awesome, lol

I think these are exactly the kind of teams Dortmund would thrive against. Being the favorite against aggressive teams doesnt fit Dortmund's style but as an underdog they could definitely surprise a lot of people (if the fix the defense).

How have the club found themselves in this position with RVP and Walcott? If you're willing to sell them, then have a replacement prepared. Really poor management to see how things are going. Frankly, its an embarrassment.
It's incredible that we've been in this position so many times. What are they fucking doing?

We also have the state of the art training facility opening in the next few weeks, it's one of the best in Europe and the journos who were shown around said it was the best of all the PL clubs. The new stadium is also coming. We are a club on the up.

I think you've been overstating the lure of a great training facility.

Sigh, Dembele to Spurs, he would have been perfect for United.

Last season he managed an 88.6% passing average (10th best outfield passer in the league)

Averaged 3.1 tackles per game (7th best outfield tackler in the league)

2.2 sucessful dribbles per game (4th best in the league)

Was only dribbled by 0.4 times per game (3rd best for a central midfielder in the league)

And he managed all of that whilst playing for a very average mid-table side.

arsenal did a pretty good job of buying rvp's replacements before he was sold. i think that was a clear reaction to last summer. but losing song without getting m'vila and selling walcott at the end of the window would be a terrible reversion to form for you guys.

I'm really wondering what's stopping Fergie in getting M'Vila. He represents wholly value in the market.

I don't know maybe Fergie sees that Carrick is dependable enough in CM to get the job done. So far 1 loss and 1 win with a fucked up defense.

It's well on record since the Euros that M'Vila has an attitude problem, and we know that sort of thing can put Fergie off more than most.

In that respect, Carrick is like a shining knight in contrast. Carrick was class last season - you can almost see the argument that we could last a bit longer without a new CM signing... almost.

These transfer sagas are making Arsenal look like a complete joke. Why are they not being nipped in the bud? Why are we leaving it so late that we get a shit price and egg on our face?

Haha no, Luiz Gustavo is the most important player to stop teams like Dortmund, Real Madrid or even Barcelona. He's obviously not for sell.

They can have Tymo, tho :p

hehe you are right :) just wanted to give them some hope. i could even imagine a Gustavo, Martinez, Schweinsteiger/Kroos midfield against a team like Barca. But it will be interesting if Gustavo will accept a reduced role, maybe he'll spend some time at left back.

Feels great to finally have a Bayern squad full of good players.

dat training ground

I'm not saying the facility itself is attracting players, just that it's evidence of the club trying to grow. We are moving forward both on and off the pitch, signing good players and investing in our facilities.

Yeah.. Just imagine if we had a Tevez situation.. Unlike City, we would have booted him out in no time. No player is bigger than the club (except Rooney). Haha

I think Gustavo and Javi will be rotated, as Tymo and Gustavo were rotated at the start of last season. And I'm hoping the same for Schweini and Kroos

Luiz Gustavo-Kroos

Javi-Schweini

And when we play a 4-3-3 we could use Javi-Schweini-Kroos or Gustavo-Schweini-Kroos. :)

It does look pretty sweet, and I'm sure it'd give a player a great buzz training there, but I don't see it as a huge makeweight, to be honest. I think the most important thing, and the one part of it that I'd love to have us emulate is how the academy, reserves and first team all train on the same site. I really dislike how there's this huge disparity between Kirkby and Melwood. Obviously with the way Melwood is we can't really expand because it's surrounded by housing, so I don't know if such a solution could occur.

They already made a movie about Sahin going to Liverpool for a year instead of Arsenal?
Bingo.

Richardson to Fulham finally happening then... scored some crackers, will never forget his freekick against the Skunks. Fucking rocket 8-)

Shame his lass wants to move back to London. Though I can understand KR's predicament as she is fit as fuck.

Bingo.

On the other hand, it gives the youngsters more of a 'real' aim, to impress the management enough to get moved up to Melwood

Wow I never knew about that.

That's shit.

I don't know why Arsenal fans are so content to see him leave. He scored 11 and assisted 13 last season; considering how Arsenal have begun the season I don't think that's to be scoffed at, especially when Gervinho's starting ahead of him.

Stats are misleading. Gervinho, for all the deserved shit that he gets, scored 4 goals and assisted 8 last season and featured much less than Walcott (a lot of sub appearances, ACON, suspension, injury, etc.). Walcott's a never ending project constantly played out of position who is, 9 days out of 10, shit at football. Either way, Walcott sure as hell isn't worth 75k, that's for sure.

Anyways, Walcott will be replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain I'd imagine. Walcott and Gervinho played together plenty of times last season, so that's not much of an issue.

damn. looking at this lineup makes me really giddy.
gustavo was really important for us last season. he was the reason why city or real had no chances against us
he should definitely get some play time

Why? i dont really care about the group stage, but teams like Juve or PSG arent a threat to Bayern. Worst case scenario would be finishing 2nd to City imo.

juve is definitely one of the favourites for the title. underestimating them would be the bigg mistake

True, there's two sides to it, but if I were to have a preferred setup it'd be the one unified site.

Has the Shalke coach's comments from today been discussed? Said Huntelaar will make a decision about his future this week and we won't know until Friday, which implies that whichever club is on his radar can't make a definitive decision until deadline day.

Wonder which club that could be?

I think you're underestimating Juve. Their midfield is simply amazing.

I'm not underestimating them, but Bayern are pretty much a complete team. Only Real / Barca / Chelsea / City are a threat imo. Sure historically Italian teams dont suit them very well, but i would be really disappointed if they couldnt manage a win and a draw against Juve.

Juve are a stronger team than Chelsea.

Don't worry. The Bendtner to Juve rumors are back. We could have Barca's midfield and it still wouldn't be enough. No striker, no party. We are already dead (in the group of death).

Are United fans not happy with the business done this summer?
I'm happy, but we need a CM still.

I am pleased though. We've signed two amazing players in RVP and Kagawa. Amazed we managed that. The other signings are good too, I'm always pleased when we bring young players in. We've got Henriquez and Powell who are only 18 and they're two players I'm really looking forwards to seeing more of. We already have quite a few talented younger players at the club and I'm glad we've added to that, it's a cornerstone of the club.

Kagawa and Buttner are only 23 too so they are still relatively young players.

But we still need a CM...

I think the CM signing is coming. We've basically strengthened everywhere else on the pitch. We have a new backup leftback, a new world class striker, an attacking midfielder, a young attacking prospect and another promising 18 year old striker.

We also have 4 strikers, 2 good keepers, wingers and 5 decent defenders (if they can ever stay fit).

There aren't many other places that need strengthening other than CM.
