Up until this season, Rooney was undroppable. He's the main goalscorer for United and the team was built around him. He couldn't be dropped as he's our best player. You can't criticize Fergie for picking him.

Anderson isn't a regular starter either.
Anderson's run of injuries doesn't really help him. He doesn't have natural fitness and he obv. doesn't take care of himself that well anyway, being out for so long just means he puts on more and more weight.

At the end of the day alot of the determination to stay fit has to come from the player. Some people need to put more effort in than others and Rooney and Anderson are two examples. They need to go above and beyond what some other players may have to do...and it's obvious they don't want to.

The club can't do much about that really.

Glad to see an Aston Villa victory, even if it was against Tranmere Rovers. Hopefully Bent's goal starts off a nice scoring streak for him.

Congrats to Sheffield Wednesday on your victory against Fulham!

Also, lol at Stoke losing to Swindon Town. I'm also laughing at calling it the Capital One Cup. They sponsor some random sport events here in the U.S. and Capital One in front of everything sounds ridiculous.

Oh! forgot to ask about Joe Bennett to those of you who watch some Boro games (or Championship games in general)

Damn, this is the weirdest transfers in years. No one wants to sell to Bayern, lol.
But then why not pay the release clause like you're supposed to. Cheap fucks..
They are.

The problem is Bilbao will not willingly accept the clause. The way it works means Martinez has to buy himself out of the contract using his clause. Until he does that, he can't release himself from his contract and so he can't go to Munich - unless Bilbao okay it, which they won't.

But Bayern don't want to give him 40M Euro until they know his legs work fine.

The rule is dumb. Bayern are doing what anybody would do.

Guys, it's happening, they talk about it in the news, Bendtner will be the new Juventus striker, we want him on loan. You can thank me later if it's really happening like I've said one month ago.
I want to see you calling for Marotta's head in case that happens, fade. A top striker was the primary objective of this transfer season. No excuses.
You are right, but he bought Asamoah and Isla which was probably too good of a deal to pass up, can you imagine the difference that this two can make, for example, for Milan?
For the striker, you still have to think about the difficulties that Italians club have, watch Inter and Milan. The potential strikers were Jovetic, Llorente, Dzeko and Van Persie.
We offer 30m€ for Jovetic but Fiorentina did not agree.
Van Persie costs 35m€+ an incredible amount for the wage.
Dzeko costs 30m€+ a good amount for the wage.
For Llorente they want 35m€ which is kinda ridiculous.
So, I don't think it's entirely he's fault, we have Gabbiadini and Immobile and I think for next year one of the two will be ready to stay with us. Plus, they weren't really that much offers for Matri or Quagliarella to gain more money. Still I think it's better to wait till the end of the transfers market, maybe we will have some good surprise.
Like Bendtner for exampe ;)

Its annoying to see Rooney and Anderson not giving a shit about their fitness. It gets even more annoying when you remember how much work Ronaldo did to improve himself while he was at United. He was a pretty fit guy already but he worked his bollocks off to achieve his desired level of fitness.

Rooney and Anderson are slobs in comparison.

Bellerin - I’m so happy I joined Arsenal
Hector Bellerin says he has no regrets about his decision to swap Barcelona for Arsenal and hopes to stay “for many more years”.

The 17-year-old has made a big impression since his move from the Spanish giants last summer and has since gone on to sign his first professional contract with the Club.

Bellerin admits the move has worked out perfectly for him, and he is delighted with the progress that he has made since arriving in England.

“It has been really, really great,” he told Arsenal.com. “I’m so happy with the decision I made to come here.

“Everyone has been really nice and the football is unbelievable. I have learned things I don't think I would have learnt at Barcelona so I am really enjoying it. I hope to be here for many more years.”

Although nominally a winger when he arrived at the Club, Bellerin has now been converted into a marauding right back and he is delighted with his new position.

“When I was at Barcelona I always used to play on the right wing,” he said. “But last year I learnt a lot from Steve Bould about how to defend and every day I feel more and more comfortable as a right back.

“It gives me a chance to go forward, and I am learning every day about the defensive side - I really enjoy it."

Indeed. Ronaldo would come back from the summer break in better shape than he was the season before.

Wonder why he's slimmed down this season. Think it's a good call anyway, he was really big last season. Less weight should make him even quicker.

Gtfo with that reasonable explanation. Bayern are a bunch of cheap fucks! Case closed :D

Yeah, City dropped the ball this season. That's why I didn't want to pick the EPL winner. I wanted to wait till the transfer windows closes. I feel like Chelsea are the closest to winning the league (and I didn't even notice they won their first 3 games up until recently).
I just feel like their weak spots are not so weak (def, mf) and the coach is better then ppl. five him credit for. What he supposedly lacks in tactics, systemic thought, he makes up for in motivational skill & uh, closeness to the team.

GO GO MARWOOD! Our time is now!!!

Marwood is small time.

Yeah, if we're basing it on squad depth, Chelsea and City have the better squads. United will come third, but I haven't seen enough to decide which team clad in blue will take it this season.

IMO last season Ronaldo was quite as agile as he was in seasons previous. He was still fast, but at times he couldn't turn or manouvere quite as fast as he used to.

Haha I was writing this post and then I refreshed.

Nah I won't be calling for Marotta's head.

Look, the only striker we've been linked with that has moved, thus far, is Van Persie and in the end he went to a team which is arguably better equipped to win European trophies than we are. All the other teams, the teams have thus far been reluctant to sell for one reason or another (case in point, Jovetic and the €30m release clause). And, with the signings we've made in the midfield Marotta has built one of the top 5 in Europe.

Obviously people go off the rails during the summer break or if they have an immobilising injury, but fat footballers are still shocking.

Or maybe I am overestimating how much players train.

If we don't have the medical expertise or information to formulate the questions we would ask, we have little to no business bleating about there being a need to pose questions.

And nor do gits filling in time on a podcast.

And it's outright fucking daft (on a level only one banned futbol-gaffer has achieved in the past) to just throw out names of crocked players and say, well, United's medical staff have some explaining to do.

In my expert medical opinion, Wayne Rooney is a fatty fatty fat fat.

I can go on and on about how Marotta fucked up this whole trasnfer window, but I think "No excuses" sums it up. He failed, once again.

He can shove that depth up his ass, what use is depth if we're going to crash out in the group stages?

It's fake.

BTW Pardew said today there is no offer for Carroll and no signings expected this window.

I still see offers for him and Tiote over the next two days :'(

Yeah I saw that, I'd be willing to bet he's bullshitting about Carroll. I still expect no signings though, unless we're waiting to see if we qualify tomorrow to pull the trigger.

While I always stand in the camp that thinks Marotta's good work grossly outweighs the bad (and his moves for young players, and especially young Italians, may not be fully appreciated for four or five years), I kind of feel that if you're going to eventually offer €30m for Jovetic, you should do so as soon as you can afford to, and not a few days before the window closes and just after he's scored a game-winning brace in the opening round of the season.

Afellay asked not to travel to Madrid, Club agreed. He is trying to sort out his future with his agent. Will apparently go on Loan. Good for him. I am pretty sure he wont ever fit into the barca system as much as I love him. He always looked uncomfortable.

He'd be better suited for us... I think Barca pass the ball too much for him.

Now the recently trustworthy goal.com are running a story saying, that Lennon and Parker are for sale as well as VDV. I took AVB at his word when he said he wouldn't change too much, too fast. No team can change that many players and achieve their goals, we will end up like QPR with a collection of players instead of a team.

I hope it's bollocks.

This x 1000.

He looked lost trying to pass and move in the barca style and generally slowed down play. He will be awesome for a team that suits his style more. Maybe even in the prem.
