Aaaaah, there it is. So Golgari is really going to have a fungal theme.
Hmm, didn't realize it would target you too. Targeting the opponent is like completely irrelevant though, it's an even shittier praetor's grasp.
Well, if you had multiples, you could basically look for another Jace, and then nab one of their planeswalkers. Alright, maybe that's not "GG" precisely but it's going to be pretty damn difficult to get out of.

Grove of the Guardian
Land Rare
{T}: Add 1 to your mana pool.
3{G}{W}, {T}, Tap two untapped creatures you control, Sacrifice Grove of the Guardian : Put an 8/8 green and white Elemental Creature token with vigilance on to the battlefield.

1. Activate Jace ultimate

2. Find Worldfire in your deck

3. Find any creature or burn spell in opponents deck

4. ????
I sincerely hope at least one deck makes use of this.

It would have to be sideboard, not everyone has burn.

Well, there is no such thing as a deck with zero creatures in standard right now. Any creature at all is going to win you the game.

I'm pretty happy they are printing the Terminate for Planeswalkers. One of the big problems with JTMS was that there were no cards that could deal with him. Now, we have O-ring and this, which help in the case that Planeswalkers get too strong again.

I know, still seems risky if they don't match colors. I think it's fun sideboard but seems stupid to mainboard.

...what?

Cast the cards without paying their costs. Just take their bomb and win the game the next turn. There isn't a single card in standard where you can cast with 0 land and 1 life. Not even phyrexian mana cards. If you're playing modern, im sure their bomb will beat out ornithopter

I think RU will be a thing so...

Yeah, thank god THIS

Isn't going to be around while we still have Phyrexian Mana/Ponder around. Seems like a secondary kill for a storm deck in Modern

But...But... Tormad's Crypt!

Aaw, you edited to say "In Standard". I was about to drop some Pacts on you.

You could also say memnites, but those rotate out.

But...But... Tormad's Crypt!

Okay, I'll rephrase:

There isn't any card you can currently draw in Innistrad block and M13 that would be able to stand a chance against the Geist of St. Traft that you tutor and cast out of their deck. Not a memnite, not a tormod's crypt, not anything.

I can't read alright? Leave me alone! ;.;

So I have a question now that everyone is talking about new Jace. In a commander setting, is he better than Jace Belerin? My planeswalker EDH deck can only have one of each named walker, and I'm looking to replace Jace Belerin with something. The best thing about this one for me is the constant hosing of opponents creatures. Its an incredibly defensive deck, so this would only help it more. Or would it be smart to just save a bit, and get a JtMS?

Also, that lantern is for sure in the deck. Easiest 5 color fixing ever? And ramp? Yes.

Man, it would have been great for limited if they decided to replace the basic land in each pack with one of those gates. As is, there pretty sweet for limited- although i'm scared that there might be creatures with "gatewalk", or other abilites that punish you for having gates.

Also, really wish I was at this party

I guess it was too much to ask for constructed viable dual lands.

I didn't think of this:
Mizzium Mortars doesn't have any targets if you paid its overload cost, so it will even hit creatures with hexproof that it couldn't ordinarily target. (Protection from red will still work, because the damage will be prevented.)
This makes Overload much more attractive in my eyes.

Common dual lands is a pretty big deal. Especially in limited and "rarity-matters" formats like pauper. Also, a functional reprint of rupture spire isn't too shabby either.

I'm really interested to see what they do with the detain keyword at common.

I have a few decks that I want to improve, but I will just post one at a time over the next week or so in order not to confuse any one heh. I just bought a few booster packs last night, it has been a real long time since I had done that!

Anyway, here is my blue/black deck, I don't really have a special name for any decks. I am not up to par with the magic lingo yet heh. Creatures consist of a lot of ninjas and creatures that have special abilities when they do damage to a player. Most of the spells either give me some information on what the other player is doing or help some of my creatures get through and deal damage to the player. Potential problems include being able to compete in the early game I think since most of the creatures cost 3 or more mana.

Lands:
14 Island
8 Swamp
1 Waterveil Cavern
1 Tainted Isle
24 Lands

Creatures:
1 Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni
2 Throat Slitter
3 Mistblade Shinobi
1 Shimian Specter
1 Doomsday Specter
1 Raven Guild Master
2 Higure, the Still Wind
2 Smogsteed Rider
1 Student of Elements
1 Scalpelexis
1 Inkfathom Witch
2 Ninja of the Deep Hours
18 Creatures

Other Spells:
1 Coastal Piracy
1 Whispersilk Cloak
2 Writ of Passage
1 Exhaustion
1 Mind Bend
2 Spy Network
2 Dragon Wings
4 Veil of Secrecy
1 Trickery Charm
1 Telepathy
2 Terror
18 Other Spells

Still working on building sideboards for all my decks since I never had them before. Looking at this deck I think it would be fun to build a discard deck. I am guessing you would want a lot of black for that?

I don't think anyone saw this because it was the last post on a page a few pages back so ill repost heh.

Tormented Soul and Invisible Stalker both work great with Ninjutsu because they are unblockable. You might find yourself having trouble getting damage through, so they will help immensely. Plus, they only cost 1/2 mana and they are dirt cheap. Do damage, switch with ninjutsu, then recast Tormented/Invisible Stalker. HUGE pressure.

Ravenous Rats also comes to mind as a good card that disrupts hands.

Rakdos got mechanic fucked. Which is okay, considering what they're getting thus far with spell support. But +1/+1 and no ability to block? Lame! Especially compared to detain.

Someone pointed out that it might be potent in very aggressive decks depending on how it shows up in the <3 CMC range. I could see it.
