With all those carbs laying around? I don't think so.

Well, since I finally made a facebook. I think linking this would be a worthy first post.

It's so embarrassing. People will be right next to me and I literally can't understand a word they're saying. I went to a doctor and was told that nothing's wrong, but I'm looking to get a second opinion soon.

I have a coworker who starts whispering when we're having a conversation. Why are you whispering!? We're not gossiping or anything. We're talking about the friggin' Kindle.

Yeah. I feel bad about it.
I have to ask constantly "Sorry, but what did you just say?" or "I'm sorry, I didn't understand, can you repeat it?"... sometimes I just nod like I got what they are saying, because I don't want to ask AGAIN what people said.

I do that all the time, just pretend I can hear th but sometimes I try to move myself to the right of a person...it's never a smooth move.

I do the same thing, and it gets to the point where people are repeating themselves three or four times and I feel so dumb. I've been trying to use the context of the conversation to figure things out, but that's not always easy. It's strange, because I actually have fairly good hearing when it comes to things that are being said far off, and if I wanted to, it wouldn't be too hard for me to eavesdrop. Every now and then though, somebody will be talking to me and I'll have no idea what they're saying.

i think we all do those things. there are lots of people who don't speak clearly, and if you're not used to hearing them, it's difficult to decode.

sometimes it's not even truly a matter of hearing, but rather one of focus. sometimes, even when we want to understand, our focus is still elsewhere.

combine the two and it's a recipe for looking stupid.

I'm partially deaf in my right ear...

Partially hearing imparted gay-GAF :D
I'm completely deaf in my left ear *bro-fist*

I try to be very aggressive in picking seats at restaurants so that I can hear the table but it's still hopeless if it's loud inside. After asking people to repeat themselves so many times or falling behind in the conversation trying to figure out what was said I usually just tune out and think about videogames.

what is ASMR?

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) is a physical sensation characterized by a pleasurable tingling that typically begins in the head and scalp, and often moves down the spine and through the limbs.

In resume, it’s "tingling", "buzzing", "warm", relaxing sensation that runs through your brain and all over your body when triggered by a certain stimulus.

How is that you guys have loss of hearing in your ears? Is this just the way it has always been or did something happen?

I personally have permanent ringing in my ears that never goes away. Its really only noticeable to me when its dead silent and im trying to sleep, but its a noise that lulls me to sleep now. Not as bad as hearing loss.

I have no idea why my hearing's become so bad, but it only started in the past two or three years, and it's on and off too. I don't think it's a problem with focusing though, unless I've lost the ability to manually concentrate.

In my case I was either born with it or it happened as an infant. Apparently as a newborn I had a pretty bad fever and this can cause hearing loss? I've gotten MRIs and such in the past but they didn't provide any clues as to what happened, or indications of a problem that could be fixed.

The same as vision: hearing quality deteriorates with time and the auditory system can also get easily damaged over time.
Some people are more prone than others, so they experiment it at early ages.

I have that too!

yeah, it's especially common when you're around stuff that's too loud or listen to music too loudly. there was a big issue with the ipod originally because it's maximum volume was too loud.

ear buds can supposedly also cause tinnitus (the ringing) but i assume that's not permanent.

funny, a couple of years ago it was cool for a school kids to use a ringtone that was really high pitched and most older people couldn't hear it anymore due to the normal hearing loss. thankfully, i can still hear that at my age, but it's as annoying as fuck.

Yes, that can do it. Things like ear infections, whereas not that serious in adults, can be devastating for infants and cause irreparable damage :( I had a friend in Kindergarten who had to use hearing aids afterwards.

And I gots my haircut, ill post it since I posted an ugly shaggster pic yesterday.

I love this phone! Can't wait to root it.

Your haircut looks good :)

Yay phone brothers. You look regal and handsome with that attire. Good frames too.

And thx for compliments you guys:-P i cant stand myself with long hair

Congrats! :D

Congrats man! I'm still applying for every job I can get but no such luck yet. Being unemployed sucks :(

I agree. SO JELLY.

But yeah, congrats Mr. F.

Thanks duders. Unemployment does suck, but hang in there. Ironically I was trying all summer to find work (applied for somewhere around 57 jobs in two cities) and now only after coming back to school have I finally been able to get something. So you never know! 57th time was the charm I guess.

It's not much, just a couple of shifts a week at a smoothie shop, but I'm happy. Also waiting on a potential second job picking up another couple of shifts a week at my university's call centre...fingers crossed.

Edit; Roadie, you look like a mix between two good friends of mine and it's tripping me out.

Gay-GAF is full of good looking guys! :)

Here is a pic from earlier this year when I still had a mohawk kind of haircut:

I tried to go for the casual "oh, is that a camera?"-look but instead look like a psychopath haha! :)

You're cute with long or short hair. Also, is that a Galaxy SIII?

...sure!

Kai was sitting on top of my chair and he heard some noise, he stood like that for like a minute, lol

Your pics with Kai around the PC inspired me to snag some shots of my cats doing the computer lounging too.
