Brick are fantastic.
No it isn't.
No it isn't.
Remember the first time you saw Star Wars, or Back To The Future, or Blade Runner? Films you knew you would absolutely, positively never, ever forget as long as electricity surged round your synapses? Looper is just like that.
my god that makeup on levitt is horrible and creepy.
Saw today and I can say that the movie IS very good, but then again, I have a soft spot for Noir
This just makes me not want to see it :/
It's at 100% at Rotten Tomatoes? Damn.
Ugh. I honestly wish reviewers wouldn't succumb to this level of hyperbole. It always backfires. Remember when The Hunger Games was the best sci-fi since The Matrix? luuuuulz.
Yep, that was actually said.
SFX chimes in:

What should be simple shootouts become experiments in unusual ways of moving the camera. Shakycam and rapid cutting are nowhere to be seen. In one of the films many, many bravaura moments the camera sticks to Joe Jr as he falls off the side of a building. Its career-defining stuff.
the blade 2 version isn't all that similar, camera is moving much quicker and it doesn't keep the subject oriented the same way at all. What, this?
Was done in Blade 2 before. Reviewer should've given a more inspired example if there's many more like this.
What, this?

A similar shot from 2009 Indonesian movie Merantau (from director Gareth Evans who made The Raid) I mean, it's a cool shot, but "career defining" and comparing this to Star Wars, BttF, and Blade Runner is a bit much.
...Unless it's really THAT good.
What, this?

Do you also have a soft spot for bad acting?
Looks pretty hokie. The scene from The Man From Nowhere did a better job.
Whoa, JGL looks very different in this! Why is that?
Gotta see this one! Been waiting for this one!
It does look better. You think the scene above looks better than the Looper shot? For real? Lol.
It does look better.
My reviewer saw it this morning and he doesn't like Johnson's two previous films but called this one "quite impressive."
I've been confused by people asking this. does this not count as an OT? I mean, i know it doesn't have "|OT|" in the title but it's been a hub of discussion for the film for foreverAre we getting an OT?
ok so i never heard of this movie and when i saw RE the trailer was shown. The main guy looked SOOO familiar but not. Then i saw Levitt's name.... why wasnt he shown?
