I really shouldn't get hyped for this. The movie looks cool and the positive reviews are nice, but man, I hated both of Johnson's other movies. Unless he's significantly changed up his writing style since, I can't imagine not disliking this either.

Remember the first time you saw Star Wars, or Back To The Future, or Blade Runner? Films you knew you would absolutely, positively never, ever forget as long as electricity surged round your synapses? Looper is just like that.

Have to agree with the JGL make up. Would have prefered him without it and the worst of it is that he still looks nothing like Bruce Willis.

The trailers also show JGL and his GF having some kind of telekinis powers as well...strange! Something to do with time distortion? Cannot wait to find out!

What should be simple shootouts become experiments in unusual ways of moving the camera. Shakycam and rapid cutting are nowhere to be seen. In one of the film’s many, many bravaura moments the camera sticks to Joe Jr as he falls off the side of a building. It’s career-defining stuff.

the blade 2 version isn't all that similar, camera is moving much quicker and it doesn't keep the subject oriented the same way at all.
however, you are right to call that quote ridiculous. It's a cool shot. It's not career-defining.
