Maybe Namco's money was the straw that broke the camel's back. ie. Nacmo, WB, Sony and the other sponsors were just enough in MLG's eyes to have an arena. Take Namco and they might as well not bother.
It should be fine now with TTT2 still new though.

Colorado started off as a Tekken state. We have all gotten older so making time for gaming is harder but the OGs still play.

No reason was given. They didn't even tell us until today. A lot of the players changed plans or had trouble getting time off from work and they just spring this on us 4 days before the event. This is not what we expect from MLG.

If you use some logic though, if someone was willing to pay that much for commissioned art on their stick they most likely have good parts as well.

It's too much freedom, I think. With a square gate, blocking is so much easier. There's other reasons that I can't exactly put into words, though. But it's all personal preference so who cares.

Well, when it comes to the pad vs stick debate, there really is not that much of advantage when it comes to either. I play Zangief better on pad than on stick, but I cannot imagine playing UMVC3 on pad anymore.

Fireball motions are fine and dandy (hell, grappling characters work better with an octo-gate, I think), and it's really not that much of an issue for most fighters. I feel as if you're using training wheels if you want to pull of some shoryukens, though.

It's the shape of the barrier preventing your stick from bending any farther in one direction. They have different "feels" to them and certain shapes work better for certain game genres.
Here is a picture.
I have no idea what the percentages, white lines, and colors are for.
The major reason I decided to try an octagonal gate was because I really wanted to be able to rest my stick in any of the 8 directions. It's more awkward (for me) to rest my stick straight down or straight left/right in a square gate.
But.. but who would stream it?Please let this just be Haunts/Spooky on Amazing Race together for 2 months......
