Now that I think about it, with a Shrink or Hydrosurge, someone could, potentially, wipe your board with this since all your creatures you get negative bonuses.

Now that's an Izzet-ass Izzet card.

Way too high, needed to be like, 3CMC to see competitive play.

Angel is totally awesome as pseudo graveyard hate and as a means of bringing your own threats back. It's a really beautifully designed card in terms of simplicity and yet having a ton of versatility. Crazy synergy with Cloudshift effects too.

Not sure about the card being playable but its just really damn cool.

The Angel is obviously the card that Conjurer's Closet needs to finally become the Constructed powerhouse it deserves.

And I guess she got lost from all her Boros friends over in Gatecrash.

The angel is really interesting. Since the cards go back to hands, even if taken from the graveyard, she works both as 3 Raise Deads and 3 Journey to Nowheres (Journeys to Nowhere?). Grab 3 creatures from your graveyard, cloudshift her, get those creatures in your hand and remove your opponent's threats.

Worse yet, you can also use the old exile trick to permanently exile three of your opponent's things. Not too shabby.

Obviously it was never meant to see standard play, but in commander, that could be fairly relevant. I'd play in a deck that I could.

LOL, it would never be a 3 drop with those stats, you have to be crazy. And as long as frites is around it's possible to be playable. One thing I like that I'll miss greatly is that frites makes a lot of cards like this playable that previously weren't. Fun to see.

I assume you mean Pyroconvergence.

The angel seems...a little meh? It could be a reasonable Frites target maybe?
No I mean the angel :D

(I feel like the appropriate comparison here is Burning Vengeance, which still struggled to be viable at 2R)

I hate anybody who says their favorite card is Shahrazad >:/

Why? Shahrazad is an awesome card and why Magic is... Magical in card games. Not afraid to pull a mini-round within a round. Even if it takes longer and is a troll card. :p

I'm pretty sure it says in the comprehensive rules that you are allowed to respond to someone casting Shahrazad by punching them in the face.

Inception: MTG Edition - 5 Player multiplayer game, everyone is running 4 Sharazads.

I wonder if WOTC will ever make another card like Shahrazad again.

They still make those overcosted red cards no one will ever play but to troll like Worldfire.

I doubt there will be any sub-game effects in a tournament-legal set. That shit is cray and shouldn't be seen in tournaments.

If there's another un-set then I'd bet there will be some sub-game shenanigans in there.

Karn is pretty close actually, now that I think about.

Darkside that is nothing like Shahrazad.

I would like to see more alternate win conditions though, laboratory maniac didn't see enough play.

They kinda want to make sure that there aren't any tournament playable cards like it. Imagine a 50 minute timed match where 2 Shaharazads are cast- is that game even getting out of game 1? People won't want to go to tournaments if a bullshit deck like that is running around the metagame

Blue white control is going to be a real deck. This is going to be an interesting start to standard, with RB Zombies, GB Zombies, UR Delver and UW Control seeming like the most obvious archetypes. I'm personally pulling for GW aggro/tokens, but I don't think it will work in the face of those decks.
