Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate announced for Wii U/3DS, coming to West, no 3DS online

what. I'm certain you can message players on a quest if you're in the the same city. Would be good out of city too, but can definitely msg them when you're in the city and they're questing.
Yeah, I meant when you're in a different city as the person you want to message. Too many times, I log in, see somebody on my friend list in a full city, try messaging them to warp and get a message saying they're in a quest. And since there's no way to tell when they are back from their quest, you just have to keep trying over and over.

The 4 player limit on cities don't help either.

Will most likely come to the vita of ps4 aswell. If not, I might have to buy a Wii-u........nevermind. One game does not influence my purchase unless it is of great quality....i hope it comes to the vita...

Vita, what's that?

...said Capcom to Nintendo while accepting a large cash "donation."

Nothing is :(

Taco-chan.

Capcom testing the waters you guys better buy this by the truckloads

Both versions, baby.

Buying both. Can't believe we're getting TWO versions of 3G after all this time. Still trying to process it all.

Yay! :)

Damn, Nintendo is busting out the money hats like crazy with the WiiU. Good times, may get that 299 one. Just need to see at least a glimpse of some Zelda. Let me hear that damn tune and it's sold.

You don't need money hats when your system is the only viable system for game sales.

So is that it for software announcements from Nintendo Direct? I thought there's going to a second Japanese Direct video for software.

First one was the Launch info, the second was the software.

Or am I wrong?

Very, very happy about this. Will be my first MonHun :)

Now, which version to get...

Wii U unless you want your first experience to be a lonesome one.

a lil late to the thread but Mar 2013 is a terrible time to release it. already pretty crowded and MH isn't big in the West.

I never followed news on 3g on the 3ds to know the answer to this but, I have tri already for the wii and I'm assuming tri g was just a port of the wii game with minor/few enchancements. Is the wii u version of Tri Ultimate just going to be an upressed version of the 3ds game? Are there any additions/improvements?

Wait, so did they already did a second Japanese Nintendo Direct today ? The one we saw at midnight (US) was for the hardware.

What's coming out in March 2013? As long as GTA V doesn't drop that month I don't foresee a problem for MH3:U if the marketing is on point.

I'm confused. Which MH game is this? Is it Tri but HD for WiiU and TriG for 3DS? And both are confirmed for NA release?

It's a HD version of the 3DS game, Monster Hunter Tri G that released in Japan in December 2011.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is confirmed for Wii U in NA/EU. 3DS version is also confirmed, but that version has no online play.

Guess I'll be going with the WiiU version then. Thanks everyone :)

Will probably end up with the 3DS version eventually though, if I like it

I'll probably get both versions. I mean, I really want to support this series and the idea of transfaring sounds really cool. I also just like playing on 3DS better than on consoles, but then again, the Wii U might provide a similar experience too.

Why in the world would capcom do that? Monster Hunter thrives on a unified userbase and local play. Why would they release the game for a dead system like the Vita, and risk splitting the userbase unnecessarily? Vita is a terrible value proposition for publishers, almost any game they could make on Vita, with very few exceptions would sell far better, and be cheaper to develop on the 3DS. Likewise any game developed from the ground up for Vita would likely be nearly as expensive as developing a console game, thus more profitable to just go ahead and put it on the console, with a much higher userbase.

Can't believe how much Sony dropped the ball on the Vita, i'm not sure it is savable at this point.
