hey neogaf FGC division, i do commentary for The Runback and was wondering if you guys had anything you wanted to see to improve the overall presentation for the runback let me know. Do you guys want to know more in-depth info about the players? I been thinking about going up to players during casuals and finding out some interesting tidbits about their play and their life. Would you all be interested in hearing about that stuff?

I've also thought about making player cards for some of the staple players. Please let me know what you guys want to see! Whether it be post match interviews or whatever else!

I always think the best presentations are those that use brackets. Show them on the stream, give people a heads up about who is fighting next, that sort of thing. Perhaps after each match a short animation showing one player moving on and the other going to losers. A lot of work, but would help the commentary flow and can reference or hype up upcoming matches in downtime.

A ticker showing offstream results would also be useful.

One day I hope to see an evo where ultradavid isn't tweeting a viewer compiled bracket to 100k people and everybody knows exactly what is going on.

Man, a shot of the pertinent part of the bracket before and after the match, even if its only up for like, 5 seconds, would be great. That almost never happens, I think largely because for a lot of tournaments, it's either being scribbled down on a piece of paper offscreen, or it's being entered into a computer that the stream can't capture, and that cameras aren't pointed at.

But being able to cut to the part of the bracket we're currently watching, and being able to see where the winner/loser will go, and who they might have to face, would help increase watchability.

Besides the things already suggested, it would help if the challonge pages for brackets were easier to find. I think they usually/always get tweeted out, but it hasn't always been the same twitter account each week that does it, so if you miss the beginning of the broadcast it's not always clear where to look. Would it be possible to put all the brackets on levelup.challonge.com? That would simplify things.

Generally Sanford has a better understanding of what is good and bad in Marvel compared to most, but I still don't like him discrediting FChamp by saying "he wouldn't be as good without missiles." Dude has no judge for that. FChamp's been godlike and using missiles isn't the reason why he is godlike. I don't like discrediting him just because of the team construction used and it being super effective.

He still rates him high though.

That was real slow on my end. Also, I had been avoiding asking the question about Marlin & Nina in this thread for a while because I didn't want to be mistaken for drama monstering, but damn. That's so sad.

@Enzo: I'd agree, but I'd have a hard time not listing Justin even as an honorary mention. He might not exhibit as high an understanding of Marvel 3 as the latter, but no one should ever underrate all those fundamentals and his ability to get that bop when it counts.

I'm not trying to discredit Champ. I think he has a top 5 Magneto, but is the best overall player for other reasons besides just his Magneto. Great use of missiles is one of those reasons. Though now that I think about it, "best missiles player" is a tough thing to measure. ChrisG would be up there.
