This is a bullshit attitude to take. The story is explicitly referencing a story that DC still have in print. Readers might be interested in that story. Tell them about it.
I really couldn't give two shits about continuity in general (it matters internally within a story but I like Hypertime) but this is wrong just from a consumer information standpoint.

Yup. That's exactly my problem. Marvel actually have interesting teen characters that could develop nicely. Nomad being my primary example as she is a teen captain america without a home, so she doesn't have to be tied to a country.
Why kill her in some random mini-series regarding the less cared about villain of all time? The same with stature. You create some fucking weird time travel plot to bring her father back, making the foundation of a father/daughter duo, and then you kill her on the exactly same issue, don't even leaving a chance for someone down the road to develop the idea? Cmon.
Character death in comic book is something that pisses people off more than chock then because it really isn't about the finality of death, it is about "oh great, now you writer X decided that no other writer can do a take on the character without going to the trouble of ressurecting him".
Feels like a waste of time.
And to keep nerdraging, what about the patriot?
Hey, let's create a black captain america with a very cool reason to have superpowers that is tied to issues a black captain america would be tied to.

Thoughts on Avenger Arena: I can see the appeal it has but I'm sure deaths won't come as fast as Battle Royale. I'll wait to see initial reaction before I pick up a new title.

I'm constantly amazed at how serious most fans take continuity. Even the stupid little stuff gets rage.
I really don't give a crap what happened 30 years ago, especially when I've never read it. With so many reboots, alternate universes, elseworlds, time travel or whatever, I just enjoy each story for what it is without caring about some nitpicking detail that conflicts with a previous comic.
I think it really limits a writer's creativity when he has to follow every little historic detail from every writer before him. It really is a problem with superhero comics.
Batman Beyond could be fun at times, it's still a bit serious though but I mean it is Batman.
I said wow. Marvel was all like "so yeah, with Marvel Now we're changing the way people think about covers", but really for now only X-Men Legacy has stepped up to the crazy awesome conceptual cover plate.

I got the trade of OMAC but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. Frankenstein and Demon Knights are the only real standouts for me, and Damian has his moments in B&R but it's rare. Just take a book like Justice League, the entire team lacks emotion and personality, at best we have Hal Jordan saying jerky awkward things from time to time. The Shazam back-up does a decent job of making up for it but it's not substantial enough.
So i'm reading Defenders( issue #9 especially), Uncanny X-Force, Fantastic Four, FF, WATXM, Avenging Spidey, ASM, etc etc etc and even if i don't love an issue, at least it's got character.

I agree so hard it hurts. A) It's always terrible when comics try to cover a hot trend long after its time in the sun has already past and B) Oh, look. It's another "let's kill off a bunch of newer characters" event. They haven't done that in, like, months.

Word. It reminds me of the really awkward and deeply misguided mutant Holocaust series where your beloved favorites were rounded up in internment camps and gassed to death! It was right around the time some Holocaust flick was all the rage.

Comixology sale! Sixth Gun! I've heard a lot of good talk about this book but never got around to reading it for myself. With the sale, the first issue is also free so now's the time, and i was not disappointed. For a first issue it covered a lot of ground and i definitely enjoyed it and appreciated the expanded horror layer than just a standard western. Check it out!

For pencils lead holders are always a good idea. It gives you the line weight variety you want, but without the shrinking body size of a pencil. Here's a guide for lead refill hardness. One thing I picked up from Dale Keown is have two lead holders one with a harder lead for figure drawing, and a lighter lead for rendering the volume of the figure.
2mm lead sharpener. A portable version of this is the Kum OnIt sharpener. Plus it's called Kum on it. Hur hur hurrrrr. . .
A Winsor & Newton series 7, Sable Hair brush of some size is good to have. #0, or #1
Japan's Deleter G-Pens are bad ass for nib inking. Western artists tend to use the Hunt #102-107, but they wear out super fast and are around a buck a pop. D:
FW Acrylic Ink, black is the blackest and most durable ink I've used.
Pentel Pocket Brush pen is great for inking with a brush anywhere.
Faber Castel Pitt Pens XS, S, F range covers the pen stuff and it's india ink based.
Factis white vinyl is pretty safe on ink when erasing pencils.
Kneaded rubber is good for general erasing and light lifting.
You'll want to do this on a good 100lb bristol board. Blue Line Pro can hook you up with comic paper. Don't go cheap. I did at first and the paper was flaky. Get the high end stuff. Although I believe vendors are making comic ruled pages for sale at stores like Michael's, Pat Catans, Utrecht, etc. Whatever is near you.
A paper tip - store it in a box with those silica gel packets you get in prescriptions and foods. They help keep the paper moisture free if you live in a humid area. Moist paper and india ink = disaster.

Considering Marvel's treatment of the Runaways over the past 5-6 years she'd probably be better off dead.
There's an ongoing comic, sadly it's digital but it's still pretty rad. I just wish the chapters were longer, but it is .99.

It's available in physical form too, yo! It's been under the Batman Beyond Unlimited banner and has three stories, one of which is the continuing Batman Beyond, while the other two involve the Justice League and old ass future Superman. It's 3.99 a floppy.
Not a bad price, it's a bit cheaper for me digitally though since I only read Batman and Justice League (which has some great art btw). I'll get the trades when they come out but for now I can't say no to $1!

Yeah, that dollar is totally well spent. I'd love to have the Batman Beyond comic pre-52 that solely focused on his story instead of these super short chapters but I'm enjoying the shit out them and the other stories aren't bad, so it's all fun in the Beyondverse.
Well there is Hush Beyond and the Industrial Revolution trades, I don't think the new-52 has affected the Beyond-verse all that much. It seems to take it's ques from the old cartoon.
