I'm dead fucking serious. People giving way more fucks than necessary about continuity is part of The Problem With Comics.

Avengers Arena could be decent, but the reason why new characters from the Runaways, New X-men, Young Avengers, Avengers Academy, etc never make the big leagues is that Marvel constantly uses them as cannon fodder is series such as this one. I can't help but think that most of the Giant Sized X-Men would have been killed off within 5 years if they were created today.
This series is going to produce the same sort of hate that Beyond got for killing Gravity.
DC needs some more fun/wacky books. Everyone is super serious all the time....
I'm going to start by saying that I have never written to Marvel or emailed / tweeted anyone at Marvel re: Jean Grey. That's not me. I am simply resigned to the inevitability that the character will return.
It is no secret that Jean Grey is a popular character, and there is a population of fans pestering Marvel to bring the character back. At the Marvel panel at Comic Con 2008, it was even said that there had been discussions about bringing the character back; it was not something they wanted to rush. (Again, my feeling that it's inevitable.)
In 2007, Marvel introduced a young mutant created to resemble Jean.
The character was also given some connection to the Phoenix Force...like Jean...but not Jean.
(Mild trolling, but trolling nonetheless. Give the character black hair - or any physical features not resembling Jean, and you cut-off fanboy speculation.)
Second, Marvel is bringing back Jean Grey as a regular character in an ongoing book. Of the characters in Bendis' New X-Men, it is Jean that they put in the Marvel Now promos, again fueling speculation. Marvel acknowledges that it is Jean...but with a twist that it's pre-death Jean. (Again, that is what I would call trolling.)
Then there's the matter of that AvX 12 promo that we all assume isn't Jean (since you can't see a face), but was drawn to look like Dark Phoenix Jean.

Seriously. I can't handle all that moody shit. OMAC was fun but aside from that Frankenstein is pretty much all we got left.
Avengers Arena sounds like a terrible idea. Hopeless can write some good stuff but this shit is stupid.
I mean not only that it is a obvious cash in on Hunger Games. But the reason why HG and Battle Royal was successful was due to the fact they were a self contained story. The MU characters are not.
Ridiculous. No way I can buy this in a 616 setting.
Word. It reminds me of the really awkward and deeply misguided mutant Holocaust series where your beloved favorites were rounded up in internment camps and gassed to death! It was right around the time some Holocaust flick was all the rage.
Batman Beyond could be fun at times, it's still a bit serious though but I mean it is Batman.
Come on brah, Axel said they were waiting for the right story to use the Runaways. This is it.I'm only pissed off that they're using 2 of the popular Runaways in a fucking snuff comic when they need to instead have a new Runaways book.

Hey brah what other drawing supplies should I get? Getting tracing paper, cheap light box and pencil set. I know that eighty perCEnt of drawing is looking good.COMICS |OT| September Stockholm Syndrome!
Yep, just let's kill them off for a cheap thrill.
Let us not consider how many connections several of these characters possess with Avengers. Or other marvel icons.
See? That is the part that does not make sense.
NOTE: I have read Battle royal and loved it but the fact is there were villains AMONG them at the time. Which pushed the moral compass of said good people. And this is after Hazmat/Mettle have shown they are hero material in Final Exam.
If Marvel reads these forums, you've just inspired them.I'm siding with the people who would want to read this if it weren't in continuity. I don't like the idea of just killing off people for kicks in continuity, but that's my Runaways bias. " Well, we haven't done anything with these characters soooooooooo why not make them fight to the death?"
How many steps away are we from having viewers vote on who they want to win?

People would do it!pay $5 to send Nico a gift basket with burn medicine and a hatchet? Might as well go all in on this.

Batman Beyond was so rad.
What do you think Benjamin Birdie does for a living? If Marvel reads these forums, you've just inspired them.
There's an ongoing comic, sadly it's digital but it's still pretty rad. I just wish the chapters were longer, but it is .99.
It's available in physical form too, yo! It's been under the Batman Beyond Unlimited banner and has three stories, one of which is the continuing Batman Beyond, while the other two involve the Justice League and old ass future Superman. It's 3.99 a floppy.
They need the Doom Patrol!
Not a bad price, it's a bit cheaper for me digitally though since I only read Batman and Justice League (which has some great art btw). I'll get the trades when they come out but for now I can't say no to $1!
Yeah, that dollar is totally well spent. I'd love to have the Batman Beyond comic pre-52 that solely focused on his story instead of these super short chapters but I'm enjoying the shit out them and the other stories aren't bad, so it's all fun in the Beyondverse.
