College Football Week 4 - Congratulations to the SEC on another MNC

Was eating at a bar today for lunch, and I got my tab comped because the manager is a CU alum and said I looked as miserable as him.

Go Gators!

If games could be won by stares.

Man, Muschamp has the best faces.

Why do Bama fans hate ND? I asked my dad, who is a staunch lifelong catholic, why he disliked the Domers. He said he thought ND was a great university and he'd love to go there to visit. As for their football team, he'd dealt with their fans for a lifetime and is just sick of their shit. While he doesn't want the team to fade into irrelevance, he'd prefer they'd make the MNC game every now and then....and lose every time.
I don't think hatred of Notre Dame is limited to Alabama fans.

God the wait for the Iowa State game in two weeks is going to be terrible with a bye this weekend. ISU is a HUGE game for us this year. First decent opponent of the season, on the road, and they've crushed us the last two seasons. That game is going to have a big mental affect on the team for the rest of the season and thus could be the deciding factor on whether Tuberville is still in Lubbock next season.

Penn State: No bowl wins since '97
And not until 2017 at the earliest if the team can get there with primarily MAC level talent.

Also, can PSU still be on the pick-em even though they won? I mean, shouldn't you guys want to keep them on until they can secure an above .500 record? So, until they have 4 more losses?

Notre Dame fans = Manchester United fans = Patriots fans. It's not limited to Bama hating them. It's more like everyone that's not Catholic, or not from South Bend, hates them.

Is it bad that I went through the SEC schedules today and convinced myself that Tennessee still has a shot at winning the east if they get their act together and play to their potential?

I truly believe Florida will lose at least two SEC games, if not three. So that could potentially put us in chance for a three-way tie or either the lead if we beat MsST and the rest of the east.......

Fucking optimism sucks sometimes.

Now I almost feel bad for all the "realistically" jibes.

Almost. :P

We have no shot with Chaney calling the offense.

Gatas will probably drop a few games, but you still have to get through UGA and USCe, too.

I'd shop a Gator logo in there, but I'm on my phone.

Sounds like a win/win situation

Nobody in south bend likes the university because it's mostly a bunch of rich kids and south bend is one step from away from being Gary. New York is where all the weird ND fans are called subway alums. They're the absolute worst and give actual alum fans a bad name. I guarantee if you go to a game at Notre Dame you'll be treated respectfully and have a good time. I will be honest that it's not hard to love Notre dame if you went there but I can't understand most of the non alum Fans who should by their very status as unwashed masses be fair weather band wagoner Alabama fans.

Rutgers will finish the season in the top 15.

Mark my words in stone.

Also, I believe this is the last year that Nevada-Boise-Fresno and Hawaii are together.

Ill shed a tear.

0-11 against ranked opponents since Dooley took over. At some point you've crossed the boundary from optimism to delusion my friend.

Though if the rumors of Dooley taking over the play calling are accurate it suggests to me that he officially has his back against the wall which is as good a time as any to see some drastic changes. We'll see I suppose.

lets make another topic. I'm sorry Blue, that your team lost, but that doesn't mean it can't be made fun of. The topics live off of the misfortunes of losing teams for years, and you should not be able to attempt to avoid the same thing to your team. Bad form, old chap.

The road is long
With many a winding turn

Generally, you don't salute unless you're in military uniform...ESPECIALLY to a enlisted, decorated officer.

The player was more than likely ignorant of the fact that it is basically a disrespectful gesture.

I didn't even know that considering everyone in the military salutes to each other.

I don't really know that disrespectful is accurate here. I think it probably has more to do with the fact that the marine was apparently singing Hotty Toddy on the sidelines.

I for one am glad well-adjusted individuals like that gunnery sergeant are attacking people without running water on my behalf.

Why is ND ranked so high? Their steady diet of service schools and B1G losers isn't enough to have them that high. Those assholes might actually make a BCS game this year, and that's just not right. PEACE.

We all knew that they would be there if they didn't completely suck. Benefit of being Notre Dame. We just have to hope they are forced to play somebody other than an ACC team, or they will actually get a win.

Obviously not. Everyone knows that UCLA under Dorell was only a 6-7 team, not some 6-8 embarrassment.

In all honesty, I am very grateful to Dorell era UCLA. Without them, Gators never win in the 2006 MNC, because they never get there.

Sorry, Blue! But at least the Seahawks won, right?

I think it is a little screwed up that TCU lost a couple of spots. Yes it was not a very impressive victory against a bad team. But they should have won by about 40 if it was not for a ton of brain-dead fumbles in the red zone. And some teams ahead of them had even less impressive performances against weaker opponents. No big deal though. We just need to win out against the remainder of the BIG 12 and Virginia and we will be fine. Not going to happen, but..
