Romney is demanding the full video for "context." MotherJones giggles and promises more is coming:
I can't believe he took that bait.

You stupid idiot. You did the right thing by having a press conference and addressing it right away. But now you've given them more new cycles. Who the hell is advising this guy? They should all be fired. He should've apologized said what he did and said, "This is all I'll say on it." and be done with it.

God. It's almost painful. It's almost like he's a democrat.

As to the Obama administration, they should marry this up with the "I don't care about the very poor." It should be on every commercial in every contestable market.

I'm all for seeing the full video of any political statement so we understand the context in which it was made, but I'm not sure how context is going to help him here. It seems pretty clear what he was saying.
Whats funny is that, as usual, even Mitt himself seems unclear on what else he could've meant.

"Uh, I'm actually going to to, I'm not familiar precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was. And with regards to, uh, I'll go back and take at what was said there."

Obama's "you didn't build that" speech was about a twenty times more offensive to me than this, give or take. And that was done in the open.

You're fine, Mittens. Get ready for the debate.

That is such a false equivalence because...well...that "you didn't build that" comment was taken out of context. Stop peddling this as if the "that" Obama was referring to was America's small business.

You're illiterate.

Well, I certainly never make it very far into your crazy fan-fics, that's for sure. Also; great contribution.

This was a magnificent troll.

Bravo sir, bravo.

The great thing about being me is that I get the benefits of trolling while being TOTALLY SERIOUS.

How much of the speech do I need to watch to get the context? I didn't just youtube five seconds, dude. Believe it or not, the first time I heard about it was via people defending it as "he's just talking about roads and bridges, this is such B.S.!" It wasn't until I went and youtubed it myself that I saw that, no, it wasn't.

His advisers make less than him, so their opinion doesn't really matter. I'm sure he has been making all of these choices. Hell, I hate government but if it was my job to advise the guy, I'd keep him on lock. Its a poor job if someone is being paid to do this, or, Romney has gone rogue.

See?

Now apologize gaf. Duffy is the real deal.

Maybe after they do that, you and the other 90% of GAF can apologize for always acting like children who feign disbelief and laughter, trying to shame people for having anything other than left-wing hive-mind point of view?

... hahaha, ok, now I really am trolling. Like that would ever happen.

He was talking about America's infrastructure. You are wrong.

It'll happen right after you come to grips with reality.

Science isn't left wing, neither is math, or direct quotations of a person. What is said is generally horseshit based, bigoted, sexist, and racist. Everyone, internationally, on gaf, points out the obvious. You can have convictions, but you can't cry foul when people point out the earth isn't 6000 years old, or that women should have civil rights in 2012+.

People made light of those that thought the moon was made out of cheese too.

You can't discuss a serious and adult topic when your views are universally deplorable, and expect to have the same respect given which other posters share, that are not blinded by their own convictions and brainwashing.

Mitt certainly shit the bed here, but I think some of the reactions here and elsewhere are a bit overboard. This won't help him, but I doubt it will lose him the election either (he'll lose anyway).

You have to realize there are a significant number of people in this country who will read that statement and agree with it. The Mexican thing aside, they won't see the main portion of his statement as a gaffe at all.

O man you really got us there!

Seriously though. I know that we laughed at you for not understanding taxes but do you need your hand held to understand the context of Obama's speech also?

Ok you wanna have it out. Lets.

So you're going to tell me that a business owner built the infrastructure not only physical but also legal that they use? You're going to tell me that they do not benefit from public goods? You going to argue that they not only benefit more from the public good but do so more than average citizens? You're going to tell me that Wal-Mart, Apple or even Applebees could exist without the infrastructure, labor laws and legal system which the business owners did not build?

What do you find so offensive about hinting that perhaps, just MAAYYYYYBE business owners reap the benefits of government and without said benefits most likely would not exist?

hmmm

Something is wrong with your comprehension then.

It's like you are saying grass is blue, sky is green. Their isn't any feigning of disbelief, it genuinely is. If you came to the conclusion he wasn't talking about infrastructure it basically equals sky is green, grass is blue. You may still believe that, all other people think there might be something wrong with you...

I was so focused on the 47% quote that I missed this the first time.

"We are having a much harder time with Hispanic voters, and if the Hispanic voting bloc becomes as committed to the Democrats as the African American voting block has in the past, why, we're in trouble as a party and, I think, as a nation."

Thank you, Romney. Thank you for helping make the Hispanic vote solidly democrat. Nobody's helped as much as you in a long time.

Yeah but it does embolden Democrats to really go out and vote. It's easy to hate Romney now.

There is something for everyone to get offended.

Seniors? Dont pay taxes, apparently, dont give a shit about life and romney wont give a shit about them.

Humanity? Food is an entitlement.

Divisive politics? He hates half the country.

"lets lower taxes republicans"? Apparently, the poor dont pay enough and need taxes raised.

And so on and so forth.

this just gave rob delaney like a month's worth of material.

mitt romney probably finally realized what he's getting into so he's shamelessly sabotaging himself.

Romney is demanding the full video for "context." MotherJones giggles and promises more is coming:

God this man. He took a single phrase "You didn't build that" out of paragraph full of message about people depending on each other as well as the government, made it the convention slogan. Now whole paragraphes of his craps, unedited, is shown for all to see and he cried context. BAH.

In all fairness, I haven't seen too many people feign disbelief - it's a fairly predictable course of events.

And the laughter is genuine because, well...it's pretty fucking funny.

Right, but that doesn't change the fact that a fair number of people will read that statement and agree with the fact that we shouldn't be providing for (what they perceive to be) a lower class which feels entitled and doesn't work.

Well that can be explained fairly as the Hispanic block is an important vote, if they all vote Democrats, just like the African Americans, we are bound to lose, which is bad for the country.

Well of course. But Romney's next step was to expand his base. He just fucked that chicken.
