Obama's "you didn't build that" speech was about a twenty times more offensive to me than this, give or take. And that was done in the open.

You're fine, Mittens. Get ready for the debate.

Yeah, people with businesses totally build their own private roads and bridges. What an offensive line.

if Obama's "you didn't build that" speech offended you, then you probably didn't listen to Obama's "you didn't build that" speech, either that or you are offended by facts, in which case I don't know what to tell you.

Really? An out of context quote that was true? That business leaders didn't build the roads and military that protect their businesses?

You were offended by the truth?

The speech that was taken out of context?

Also, I'm no big politics guy, but I swear watching those videos was like reading Atlas Shrugged again.

You're seeing it. Look at the finalists for the nomination. It looked like a goddamn Rogue's Gallery of dumb fucks. They didn't give half a shit about this election. I'm convinced of that. Romney won by default.

I laughed so hard at this, everyone at work is looking at me weird.

This, exactly. The only people who were offended are the ones who heard only Fox/Limbaugh edits.

You don't get it. You physically didn't build the bridges and the roads. The government supplies that for you. That's what he meant by you didn't build it. How is that offensive? Did you fucking build the roads and bridges? If I did and someone told me I didn't I'd get mad, but I'm pretty thankful our government supplies these for us, are you not ?

Ugh nvm, damn troll

What is it about Obama that makes his opponents implode on their own?

it's the GOP's alliance with Jesus Freaks and Tea Partiers coming back to bite them. They put all their eggs into a basket that became more and more detached from your average American. Even candidates like McCain and Romney, who deep down probably hate that side of the party, are forced to cater to them.

The...speech where he said business owners didn't build roads or bridges?

No, the one where that became the explanation well after the fact once people started reacting negatively. If you actually listen to the context surrounding it, it's real clear that he's not talking about roads or bridges. Y'know, the parts where he says you're not successful because of your hard work or smarts, and that you didn't do it on your own.

But I bet Elizabeth Warren was talking about roads too.

You're illiterate.

Do we have to explain this to you like income tax brackets?

Nobody likes to hear it.

Well, now that I'm done being hoodwinked by the Internets (so sad), I have to wonder why folks follow this stuff as closely as they do when it's evident they're rooting for Brand X over Brand Y.

Is it the schadenfreude potential? I love laughing at the misfortune of others as much as the next guy, but not with it comes to serious things like running our country.

When our two party system boils down to this, with one candidate being a complete cock and deep sixing his own campaign; isn't it time we start letting other candidates get some of that precious air time so voters can see the other options available?
Irritainment. People love to be indignant.

I'm voting for Jill Stein, but I can plainly see one party is indeed the party of lesser evil. I want Obama to win, though he hardly needs my help at this point.

I wonder who recorded the video. If only donors are allowed in then would the person recording be a donor? If so why would they record it? Maybe it was a waiter who hid it under a handkerchief or something?

My head asplode. Well done.

That press conference was AMAZING. The look on his face. I will cherish it.
We're entering Fargo territory. Beware of wood chippers.

Romney is demanding the full video for "context." MotherJones giggles and promises more is coming:

I'm all for seeing the full video of any political statement so we understand the context in which it was made, but I'm not sure how context is going to help him here. It seems pretty clear what he was saying.
