3DS Streetpass Experiences

My girlfriend has a 3DS she never uses, been dead in her purse for over a few months now. I would always street pass her but she never had anything new to give me. Is this changed now?

She'll give you a level 7 Mii for Find Mii II and maybe a new puzzle piece that she's received via SpotPass.

Each 3DS receives a new puzzle piece each time a new puzzle is added via SpotPass, so make sure it gets some idle time with an active Internet connection. You'd also pretty much have to blow play coins on both systems to fill in all the blue pieces. As for Find Mii, it's just a matter of going in over and over - if you have consistent access to a second 3DS, that's a free level 7 every eight hours.

Oh, and did you see that streetpass group link from my last reply to you? I edited that in pretty late so you might have missed it.

It's not optimal, but I think the text does a pretty good job of describing what you need to know in scenarios where colors matter; e.g. "The ghost has a yellow shield!", "Red magic deals fire damage", etc. The easiest way to determine what color Mii is currently on deck is to highlight Magic and read the description of what you'll get. If you're teamed up and have no option to perform Magic, then the two Miis you have teamed are not the same color.

But I think it does not work when you hiring old heroes.

Well, I've just completed all 5 secret routes in Find Mii II / Streetpass Quest 2, but I note I still have another 11 hats to find! Aaagh!

I don't have to go through the whole thing again, do I?

Lots of hats require visiting a specific room 2-3 times. Or in the case of the bottom right room, visiting 5 times for all three hats available there (I believe). Check out the maps and guide on GBAtemp (posted earlier in the thread) for where to go.

At least two more times, as the room in the very bottom right corner has to be gone through three times to get all its hats. That makes 9 other hats scattered about, too.

I got a chance to visit the Nintendo World store in NYC last week, and hooked up with some hardcore Miis (folks with >3000 StreetPass tags).

I was surprised at the small number of tags I got during the day walking around Manhattan & Brooklyn, though--I think maybe only 7 in total (including Nintendo World).

I had all of 2 people in my medium sized city on my 3DS I've had since launch...

Then I went to the Zelda symphony Orchestra back in July and got about 300 hits in the course of a couple hours.

The key? Try and find where "your kind" will be. Any gathering with a lot of people will help, but if you, say, drop by the mall for a couple hours or hang out at a video game store for awhile you're bound to get a few hits.

Did you just spend all day on your 3DS? That's what I hear it's like at conventions and such.

I was in line from 6am and then got in at 9:57am. After that, I had to queue for the MH4 single player campaign. Then I queued to play Layton Vs. GS...then I queued for Tekken TT2 on the WiiU, then I queued for the toilet etc. etc.

Basically, a lot of queueing went on and I had ample time to get all those people. My 3DSLL was flashing red by the time I was on the train home though!

My green Streetpass light turned on for the first time last week. I got a mystery box for Super Mario 3D Land but no Mii tags. That was at a street festival with thousands present.

Taken it everywhere I go, including an airport where I saw a girl with a 3DS, and still 0 tags.

I'll just use this thread.
But in Mii Plaza why is puzzle swap so damn crappy?
I don't get street passes a lot so I have to use coins, but it's pretty bad that I can have 10 coins and 6 of those coins are just thrown at nothing since i get the same puzzle I already had. Why did they bother to do that?

In Find Mii if you get a shitty cat it at least does something

yeah it makes me not want to even try with coins anymore. Really sucks whatever fun there could have been with it right out of it.

Yeah. Made a device to do the steps automatically in order to get the 1000+ coins I ended up using to complete the puzzles. Streetpassing would've been much more fun, but just wasn't a viable option. :/

I wish. Torontonian here and like I said, I have yet to get one. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, and sometimes I wonder if it's a problem with my 3DS.

2-3 passes per day for me in Toronto. Sometimes a lot more. 8 countries, plenty of Provinces and States. Over 1,000 total now and I haven't attended any major trade shows, or anything. Best single day was the Zelda Symphony with around 50 Streetpasses.

Wow. Where do you live? I usually get 2-5 on the subway. At least 1 at sporting events. Even when I walk around my neighborhood (the Annex), I almost always get one. I've had the 3DS for less than a month but I have around 50 streetpasses and I haven't been to any geeky events yet or anything!

I just spent Saturday through Monday at Disneyland and got a ton of StreetPasses. Majority from fellow Californians, second most from Japan, and then a few from other states like Massachusettes, Hawaii, Oregon, and Texas.

Also got one from Mexico, one from Anguilla (had to look this up), and one from England.

Managed to get all the pink puzzle pieces that are available.

Seems Japan has three more StreetPass puzzles than the US. I noticed every Japanese SP I got, there were three panels that just showed (???) when I tried to view them. I remember reading there was a McDonald's SP promo in Japan so I assume that's one of them, and I'm guessing another is for the latest Fire Emblem. Anyone know what the third is they have over there?

And more Japanese 3DS owners need to put their region. I got like 10 Japanese SPs but only three of them bothered to include their region.

Onitore/Demon Training.

I don't have a region on my JP 3DS since I'm not Japanese and don't care to just pick one... it could be the case for others aswell (unless they were actually from Japan and not people carrying import machines).

Ah, well it's too bad neither of those games are out in the US yet as I could have received a decent amount of puzzle pieces for them.

I'm pretty sure most the Japanese StreetPasses I got were from Japanese gamers as I recall Japanese characters for the names, but I was mostly checking them real fast while waiting in lines for rides (so I could clear out the 10 Mii limit) so I can't be 100% sure.

Honestly, Find Mii is by far the most addictive part of owning a 3DS. Validated my purchase a week into owning it and I'm still addicted.

FINALLY!

Got a tag today. Even got a card from Theatrhythm. Even if that stays the only other Mii in my plaza, at least I can take solace in the fact I found one.

Wow. Where do you live?

West-central. That's as specific as I'd like to get.

Got a lot of StreetPasses tonight going to Anime Weekend Atlanta. I could have probably got more but I didn't check it often enough. My message is a GAF-recognizable one, if anyone possibly got it. :P

Planning on getting a lot tomorrow as well since I have the whole day.

Pretty much this. I take my 3DSXL almost every time I go out with my wife on the weekends. I haven't played a game in over a month.

Today I'm going to Plaza de la Tecnologia & Plaza Garibaldi at Monterrey, MEX to be haunting StreetPass; here are the best places to get them!! Last week I got 16 StreetPass!!

PlazaMii is my principal goal, and NewSuperMarioBros.2 (and also grindr, but that's offtopic, LOL!)

ONM has a comprehensive guide to Find Mii (or Streetpass Quest as we call it here across the pond.)

This fact blew my mind:

http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/42352/the-ultimate-streetpass-quest-guide/?page=1

I remember hearing that awhile ago but my question is, what is the benefit of that? For some reason I thought that you get all the hats from Find Mii 1 after 2 playthroughs (which unlocks 2). Is there any point in running back through it after Find Mii 2 is unlocked?

Accomplishments.

I stopped by the Disney Store and the grocery store and ended up with five StreetPass tags today.

That's unusually high for one normal day, going to normal places!

Anyone find that the 3ds XL isn't quite as good as the normal 3ds at picking up Streetpasses? I carried my XL and my wife's normal 3ds while vacationing in Disney World, and she would always end up with more people than me.

I'd want to know how they managed to get 10 gold pants Miis.

Japan has had a lot more gold-pants Miis available, I think.

It seems to vary, regardless of if it's an XL or not. Haven't noticed much of a difference, though, no.

I might just start cheating and using coins for Find Mii 2 because goddamn you need to finish this so many times. I didn't need to use a single coin to finish puzzle swap which I'm proud enough about.

Whoa, you must have been sitting at 300 coins for a while then. I had trouble going a day without using my coins before, I'd feel bad not putting resources to use.

I'm going to hit 300 coins this weekend so I can begin doing that hiring/reviving trick. Though I'm pretty close to the end of Find Mii II for the first time (last room). Unfortunately, I still don't have two Level 7 Miis so it will be a bit less effective. Been trying to build to that before using coins but I don't think I'll be StreetPassing guys enough until then. And I think the guy with the 2nd most tags for me changed his shirt colour recently too -.-'

Gonna try going there the next time i'm at MTY.
I never took my 3ds out of my house, but now im going to, since i got 6 street passes at a McDonalds in Laredo TX, gonna try the River Drive Mall next time...

Took me a while to realize they'd capped at 300 lol. Yeah I've probably been at this for like a year. I think I'll use it. Find Mii is kinda tedious. The only time it was any fun for me was in PAX lines when I had nothing to do a constant barrage of 10 Mii parties.

My StreetPassing has slowed down considerably lately.

The best experience I've had was the one I mentioned before, where I tagged the same guy in Atlanta and Indianapolis. The Wii U event I went to is a close second, over 20 StreetPasses. Definitely the most I've gotten in one shot.

But usually it's 0-1 when I go out, 2 if I'm really lucky. There is some creeper that comes by my house every now and then that tags me. Hardly consistent... thankfully?

What should I do on Oct. 27? (Yes, it does concern getting Streetpass tags)

Attend the 2nd day of a comic book convention where I'm hoping to get autographs and my pic taken with some of the guests attending, or attend a trip to Cedar Point while they have their Halloweekend thing?

One thing I would recommend if you want to get a lot of 3DS streetpasses, go to conventions! Last time I went to one... I got a crap ton of passes and it was the greatest thing ever! They helped me get through Find Mii 2 like three times.
