Ballin.

I see FSU is stuck in the 80s with those cutoff uniforms and likes to cheat with the facemasks.

Criminoles indeed.

Haha, he does look kind of ridiculous with it but it's his thing I guess. JWJ is enough of a beast that he can do whatever he wants with his shirt as far as I'm concerned.

Nothing wrong with a good stiff arm!

Oh, I bet you don't care what he does with his shirt.

This was the most fascinating part of the article to me.

E. Gordon Gee, Ohio State University, $1.9 million a year compensation, plus a car, house and access to charter jets. Travel, housing, entertainment spending 2007-mid-2012: $7.7 million

Bill Powers, University of Texas at Austin, $663,000 a year in compensation, no car or house, access to state-owned aircraft. Travel and entertainment spending 2007 to 2011: $$310,360

As far as big time money football schools the Texas president can't even step to him.

With this post, I have 16. Fucking disgraceful.

I am disapoint son, I was pulling all the tOSU weight this game. Should have joined in the misery with me.

Holy shit, this is actually my first post in this thread. I am trending WAY behind my usual trend of not posting very much in the first place.

At any rate, I was in San Diego this weekend for my birthday, and found a Buckeye alumni bar to watch the game, so we shared in that collective misery together. Loudly. As my wife said, "it's like being in a room full of you".

On a side note, it's fun to see the Michigan fans scurrying off the Denard Robinson Hype Train. Is "Denard Robinson, Heisman Candidate" the new "FSU is back!"?

It is pretty hilarious how quickly Michigan fans went from "Denard Robinson: Heisman Candidate" to "I can't wait for Denard Robinson to graduate so we can be good again." I think Michigan fans have forgotten that he has single-handedly won more than a few games for their otherwise mediocre team while he's been there...including the last three against Notre Dame.

I couldn't even comment on it when it was happening because I was so vehemently against the decision. But now I can.

WHY DID WE GO FOR TWO WHEN OUR DEFENSE WAS DOMINATING THAT GAME?! Gah! Get the tie, go into OT, make them take a FG, and score a TD. We just drove the field on them, we were starting to find gaps in that defense.

Ugh.

especially when the other team didn't have a kicker, meaning that the team would need to score a touchdown in overtime, something they couldn't do during regulation.

Who is doing this week's thread?

UM was real lucky last season. That kind of luck typically only lasts one season.

Also, this was a really shite weekend of football, but I can sleepwalk my way into a top 10 post count for the week (Actually, top 5, just checked). But I think the Louisville guy gets it this weekend.
This weekend, and the next, and the one after that...at least up until November.

I do CFB vBookie events on a forum I mod on, and I already like to watch tons of college football anyway, so I'll be sticking on here more than I have in the past.
Bert: I've participated in TTK's pickem for a few years. I still don't understand his scoreboard. It's why I don't really like the system. That we're dependent on "some guy" giving us our accurate scores, and he does so via a blob of numbers.
We can always double check our scores independently...and what timetokill does is really cool, IMHO.

I'd agree with it if you were a heavy underdog and you were lucky to just be in a position to win with a 2pt conversion, but BYU looked to be the more physical team. The longer that game went, the better it was for BYU.

At least we're playing Hawaii this week at home. Their defense is terrible, so our offense might actually function at a respectable D1-A level, allowing our defense to not want to kill themselves after the game.

Shirtless pictures of young african american males? FSU IS BACK, BABY!

Back ripping off The U?

As long as Deion approves.

Oh, and nice that the FSU band rocked Game of Thrones.

He also made Vandy spend $6 million on upgrades to the school provided house for him when he was there. What a douche. I hate our school president too, but glad Gee isn't at UGA.

I like taking shots at the Trogan fans :P

Hey man, if you can negotiate shit like that. More power to him, get paid while you can. He is considered the best college president in America. Of the many, mnay times I have met him he has bery super nice and very genuine. The craziest thing about him is that dude knows everyones name. I met him at a party my freshman year, then saw him a week later on campus and he knew my name.

Well it's a big school, and with the kind of resources they're giving him that are akin to a CEO of Apple or Microsoft, I'd hope he's doing well. He'd make a good politician, for sure.

Some of the Gators are doing that shit, too. Must be a Florida thing working it's way up in the latest crop of players. They usually just do it during the spring game, but now in real games, too. Hopefully it abates. Or we go full on and get tear-away jerseys back, too.

Another starting lineman done for the year. FML.

Four of five starters from last year were supposed to be returning. Only one is still playing.

Best one I could find. They played it at least twice during the game.

Apparently, the UF band rocked Gangnam Style, but I didn't hear it. Can't find a video or anything either.

They played the theme again later on in the 3rd or 4th too -- I was loving it. Supposedly the Chiefs also band played Gangnam Style as well but I didn't notice it. Just saw Tomahawk Nation tweet about it.

I saw this video linked to from the Game of Thrones one. I've never heard of I'm Shmacked before but what an awesome job getting to travel around and film this shit..

The Denard Giveth, The Denard Taketh Away.

He's been fun to watch, but never grew as a passer. I've been looking forward to him graduating for years so that Michigan can get back to the traditional style of offense they were known for until the RR era. Not that Michigan was ever a "Quarterback U", but fuck man...at one point there were like 4 or 5 former Michigan QB's starting in the league at the same time. And so while he's been enjoyable to watch on the run, he's been equally scary to watch throwing the ball. And while he's made many big plays in the past, the reality is that a lot of those big plays were really just "miracle" plays made by receivers...and a lot of others were desperation situations that would have probably been comfortable wins with a solid drop-back passer in the vein of what we saw coming through Michigan up until the RR era. In other words, his weak ability to throw the ball made most games--even the wins--much more difficult than they should have been.

That being said, I think Michigan will be fine this year. Notre Dame is playing good defense this year (ask MSU) despite that game being very winnable...and Alabama is Alabama. We'll close the season on a long winning streak. But Denard's style just isn't good enough to beat teams with great defenses, and his losses over his 3 years as starter testify to that. I don't know if he's piloted Michigan to a win over a top 10 defense in his career, and I don't expect that to change this year.

To be honest, I'm disappointed that Gardner hasn't competed better for the starting QB job, though I know he isn't a Hoke recruit either. But anyway, yea...most of my friends look forward to a return to traditional dropback passing and winning. Until then, The Denard giveth...
