Dr. Strange has been de-powered to some kind of less-than-zatana level of magic. So he's kind of just a superhero now, doing what Scarlet Witch used to do before someone decided she was god.

Well to be fair Hope is the "mutant messiah" and the damn girl even looks like Jean. I'd probably figure she would be the answer too. I don't think he or any of the other X-men that ended up with the power actually intended to have the power.

i think they keep Franklin out of it because if he gets involved the phoenix probably isnt going to be a problem. To be honest the council of Reeds have raped just about every obstacle in the marvel universe ...and franklin and the FF foiled them so yeah not gonna be much for anyone to do if Franklin shows up drama would go straight to zero.

Jean couldnt handle it so how is the image of her the answer? all im saying is, ever since her death , the phoenix force has toyed with jean grey and fucked her up. Shes one of the most powerful minds in the marvel U and she gets bent over by the phoenix force ...for 20+ years. So it doesnt matter if hope or the Phoenix 5 get it, no one can handle it cept for maybe , Franklin richards, or someone wearing the infinity gauntlet. I would say galactus but he's been nerfed every year for the past decade.

But Jean didn't have the title "messiah" to her. I dunno, when you are desperate and you feel like you (or in this case, your kind) have no future in sight, you would be willing to try anything.

The Fantastic Four always get downplayed in these crossovers. Like, why is Tony Stark always in charge of all the science stuff? Reed is way smarter, and he has the future foundation to back him up. Plus, there are not one but two Franklins hanging around the Marvel U at the moment.

I'm sorry, but if I knew that The Phoenix, which is apparently strong enough to take down Thor and go toe-to-toe with Galactus, or heck, EAT STARS, was coming to earth, and presumably was coming for a girl who looked like the girl who, when in contact with the Phoenix had committed crimes so magnificent they could be placed on par with Galactus and without the caveat of needing to do that to survive and maintain the Universe, I would not assume that she was the savior of mutant kind.

I would order her executed. Innocent or not, knowing that the Phoenix was coming to Earth and had chosen this girl as its host, I would execute her and consider it for the good of the entire universe. Half her life Jean struggled to control the Phoenix and failed to do so. Given that Hope is probably younger than Jean was when it happened to her, the Dark Phoenix would be inevitable. Even IF Hope could handle it for awhile, there's too much room for it to happen. Jean handled it in small doses, but inevitably something came along and drove her over the edge. Hope's a teenager. How could she ever cope with it?

For good measure I might also order Rachel to be executed or to vacate that reality. If I were the Shi'ar I would see this latest incident as a good reason to exterminate all psychics everywhere.

Well yeah, that's why keeping Franklin away from the Phoenix would be a good idea. Can you imagine all of Franklin's power plus the Phoenix's insanity?
 
The way they're writing Cyclops for AvX just pisses me off so fucking hard. If this ends the way it's looking, I'm done with X-books for a while.

The Season One GN has some baller Emma Rios art but it's like a million dollars for maybe a hundred pages and the first issue of Defenders which you probably already own.

Hot damn!

Much like Man on Fire was the superior Punisher movie the year it came out, Guy Ritchie delivers another great Batman movie without an actual Batman license in Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows.

You would think with Nolan being so god damn awful at action direction, and having built his career on the foundation of being a clever boy in film he would have embraced the opportunity to show us a clever Batman. Instead we got a screamy, incompetent Batman, and poorly filmed action scenes to boot.

I want Ritchie, Moffat, and Gatiss on a god damn Batman movie already! I'd be totally cool with it being Gotham by Gaslight.

Also since the Asperger generation's lack of empathy was on parade in the Stan Lee thread I found this. It's very much worth a listen to as an industry veteran and a law professor review the shitty business practices and how talent that attempts to negotiate with legal representation gets shut out of the industry.

It's a god damn shame Steve Ditko is too busy being a nutty recluse to testify in court. :|

It's a good thing there's no electoral college in funnybooks so my god damn vote counts for something. No matter how futile.

God you are HIGH. Punisher War Zone is the best Punisher movie ever and probably the best comic book movie. Man on Fire was about fifteen hours too long and the Sherlock movies are some of the most boring, unimaginative pieces of shit ever filmed and they think they are SO CLEVER. I could barely make it through either of them.

The correct order of Punisher films is as follows:

1. Warzone
2. Punisher (1989)
3. Man on Fire

Thomas Jane's cosplay never counts, but if you were born in the 80's or later I can understand why you'd be so confused by these things. ^_^
 
Listen here man, I love Tony Scott (I actually just rewatched all his movies since he ate it) but the first hour and a half of Man on Fire is some of of the worst film he has produced. It's all good once he starts slaughtering Mexicans but the road there is much more punishing than watching Thomas Jane pretend like he can act.
 
I have to agree, the Thomas Jane punisher movie was garbage. What was Jon Travolta thinking when he signed up for that shit. Just an all around garbage garbage movie.

Yeah definitely. As a Donatello fan I'm a little disappointed with his characterization in the book but it's all around really good if you're at all into TMNT. I haven't gotten back into it yet since I stopped getting comics over the summer, but I will eventually. Last issue I read was the one where Shredder showed up.

Skip the micro series though. Read the first four of those and they ranged from passable to downright bad.

Thanks! My local comic shop posted about the third trade coming out today on their fb which got me interested.

Coworker lent me some more of those Walking Dead hardcover collections, 4 to 7 to be exact. Excited to keep reading, really liked the first three.
