You know Cap being elected President should be something from a bad issue in the 1970s....but it works. Is it silly? Yeah but after watching Cap smash drones and save everyone...it doesn't matter you're fine with it.
I think the side stories for avx make the event. I enjoy them more than the actual thing, to be honest.
Should have kept Daredevil then, could have put together a Wolverine: Enemy of the State Movie (minus SHIELD of course)
i started off on good terms with Millar's work, i loved his initial Ultimates run, Old Man Logan, and Superman Red Son. But his second run on Ultimates with Ultimate Comics, Kick Ass, Supercrooks, Superior, Nemesis, and Fantastic Four have left me a bit bitter.
" I KNOW,RIGHT!" Watching Green Lantern reminded me of The Producers, trying to make it as bad as possible....except instead of a play, a movie, and instead of a cheap budget, spending $150million.

Honest question - why fucking bother? Youre post basically reads as "I don't like western comics, do my research for me and tell me what comics to read". To which my answer is why fucking bother.
Look, there are scores of great comics out there. The same ones are bought up again and again and again. Do a bit of research, find out what stands out to you, try it out, then come back and tell us how much it sucked.
Here are some clues - there are many long long runs by single authors on superhero books. Geoff Johns (before he got really shitty), did epic runs on The Flash, Green Lantern and Justice Society. All good. grant Morrison is just finishing up a 5 year run on Batman. Brilliant stuff. Brian Bendis on Daredevil was absolutely sublime. Warren Ellis' Planetary run is godly. James Robinson did 80 issues of Starman, one of the finest comics-as-novels you'll ever find.
Deep pockets. Faulty critical faculties. A thick skin.
I can see why you got hooked though, Hawkeye is a stylish, brilliant book. There are very very few out there like it. And none of them are by Matt Fraction.

Well yes and no since it is a Marvel Event, it just sucks figuring out what is worth it. But yeah it sucks that you can read the whole thing and miss a ton of depth that is impossible in 12 issues.
The best way to appreciate Marvel events - and I say this purely from a storyline point of view, although it has other obvious advantages - is to do something I can't say for fear of a ban. :X
But check out how that turned out for Fear Itself. It is so much better to read it this way. It also made me like Civil War and Planet / World War Hulk.
I have no doubt it will also be the case with AvX.

MArk Millars FF was really fun stuff. also hitch on art. But modern millar is jsut honing it in,, the last thing i liked was superior.

Some thoughts on what I read this week.
SPOILER WARNING
FF #22 - Awesome. I love how Hickman can make an awesome issue without any big fight scenes or plot twists. This issue is all about the interaction between the FF characters. I don't want to see Hickman go, even though he's going to another book I (or I'll) read.
Talon #0 - I liked it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for anything Court of Owls though. Talon does come off like an alternate dimension Robin or something, but the insight into the Court of Owls is interesting. This issue makes me wonder if Bruce was meant to be a Talon too. Did he check his own teeth?
This could turn into a cool series if it stay focused on the Court of Owls stuff and Talon doesn't end up solving random crimes around Gotham or something. Also, seeing more owl ninjas is cool. 
X-Men Legacy #274 - Better than Rogue on Mars, but still not that good. It was OK. It just seems like with Avengers last week, these characters are in 2 places at once and the writers don't even care. Maybe it will make more sense to me after AVX #12. Magneto looked pretty sinister when he put on his helmet. Could he be going back to his old villainous ways? I kind of hope so.
Amazing Spider-Man #694 - Pretty good. The Avengers and the plane stuff came off pretty well. I felt some tension and it was exciting. The end of Alpha was very anti-climactic though. Did they really not have anything else they could have done with that? I thought this was going to go for more than a few months.
Wolverine & the X-Men #17 - Loved it. So much better than last issue. It was funny and lighthearted all the way through. Very well done. Also, the artist from Madman? Awesome!

I concur...but one thing I like and I think this is a huge plus in selling comics is Comixologys guided viewing I have some old PD comics (Atomic War is kind of neat, lasted one issue it's about US vs SU) from the golden age and while viewers work with them, I can't help but wish they had GV. I actually find buying comics using it to be a huge plus and something I don't mind paying for.
LOL.
Oh, before it slips my mind, how was Red Lantern 0, everyone? I haven't gotten a chance to get it yet and while I am a fan of the corps, their current series hasn't been too impressive. I continue to read it due to...I guess it's a sense of loyalty. Not because I really enjoy it like say, Aquaman or All Star Western.

I've held off praising this book until i read a few more issues and now that i'm at #3, it's time. Mudman, by Paul Grist, is the type of book that fits with what i'm usually looking for: a "fun" book with light atmosphere that still has panel layouts, dialog, and plotting that keep me interested in not just an issue, but turning every page. It's not "epic" so far, but the plots been moving in three issues with a good outlook. If you're interested in cape books but want something a tad different, give Mudman a try. Besides, it involves mud powers...that has to be worth an issue at least, right?

It's a shame, but Campbell started sucking ass for me the moment he started doing a Mort Drucker impersonation, but instead of working for Mad Magazine where caricature art is appreciated he was doing it in his own comics. I forget the line-up, but I do recall Seth Green and Jack Black featuring prominently. If I wanted to burn the extra calories I could track down the rest of his references on this book.
Oh well. Get paid!
