It was on sell at some point last night for that much. The Tower Bridge jumped all over the place before I found it this morning for 178. Town hall was 149 yesterday and 120 this morning. Just keep checking brother.

I intend to. I ALMOST went to the LEGO store to buy it today, but I'm going to wait a little bit longer before making the run if I can get it on sale right now.

Hobbit sets look great.

Can't say they all look LOTR-theme fantastic but definitely good. Hopefully they're fun builds, though at the moment those figs look godly.

I don't know my hobbit dwarves well, has anyone figured out how many of these sets you need to buy to get all 13?

From a quick scan of the pics, it looks like you'll need 5 of the 6 sets - the small set with Bilbo and Gollum would not be required.

I bought my GE at 111, but hey I'm not going to sweat three bucks. Price was already amazing. It's still in processing though, I'm not going to see it till around the 15th according to the website.

I've got the pages open and on refresh. It makes me not want to boot up any vidja games so I can just watch those sets like a hawk.

I don't know, i like Helms Deep and Shelob was a fun good set but mainly because it was cheap and came with nice figures. Over all though I have to say i'm really ho-hum on these LoTR and Hobbit sets. There is so much they could be doing but they seem to be phoning it in alot and reusing alot of bricks and scenery. The wargs look nice in the new sets, but thats about it.

I mean really, where are the eagles? Where was Balrog and Gandalf at the Bridge? Where was the Witch King and Fell Beast with Eowyn? What about an Olyphant with a couple rohan riders and Legolas? Aragorn, Ghimli and Legolas with the ghosts and King under the mountain, they could have glowed in the dark. Where is Isengard with Saruman and WormTongue and maybe some Ent sets to go with it. Holy hell, could you imagine a $300 or $400 Gondor set? With the siege engines and flaming Steward with a catapult to shoot him over the edge?

I know people are going to say "Well they may do more sets" but even if they do they will never do all those sets I just mentioned and any one of those sets could have made me more excited for the current LoTR collection.

A friend of mine is moving to Chicago next week, and decided to give my son his old Lego collection:

He also has the entire collection of Lego Star Wars sets that feature the yellow figures. He'll be dropping those off next week. All it cost me was a 6-pack of beer.

I will raise the price. I will give you a 12 pack for it.

You're in for a treat. Did he have the instructions as well?

Do they have a normal "restock" time?

Nope, at least not as far as I can tell. Seems to be whenever. Already missed both of these sets 3 times now. Worse case I still got Grand Emporium from them for $111 so it's hard to complain TOO much though. I could probably live without getting that discount on Tower Bridge, but $80 off Town Hall, fuck.

There were instructions to a couple of things. One was some explorer set from 2000. The other was some castle set. I'm not going to sweat it, my son won't care. I will care to see what comes with his Star Wars sets next week. I don't know if he has ALL the yellow fig sets, but it will be interesting to see what he brings. I hesitate to ask if he has Cloud City, lest I clue him in on special that set is.

I keep refreshing Walmart for the Cargo Train. It was on sale for $108 last night (normally $180) but I missed it. With my expanding train collection I need track and additional Power Functions, and at that price it's a great deal.

I had a LEGO train collection about 2 years ago but ended up getting rid of it. If I had the space, I would LOVE to keep a layout setup. Best if luck getting it in sale!

So, I was building the final floor on the petshop and I'm missing a piece. It's one of the black slopes for the roof. A pretty big piece so I'd notice if it felt or something. I didn't mix the bags en emptied each bag on a different plastic container. What's my best bet on this case, just buy a replacement or is there somewhere where I can write and get a replacement?

EDIT: Also there's a lego Atlantis piece on my set. It's one of those round disc with a picture of an actopus.

Go to the customer service section on the Lego website and fill out the replacement form.

In the meantime, do you have a spare of that part from another set?

So my wife and I started digging through that ton of Legos.... It seems the majority of the sets were Medieval in nature; a lot of knights, horses, crossbows and the like. We found a couple of spacemen as well. All in all, we filled a 2.5 qt container with just minifigs.....

It sounds like you have too much on your hands. Forward it to me and I will help you out. :)

That was the great thing about classic castle sets. They always came with a ton of figures in comparison to the space stuff.

It definitely brought back some memories, especially seeing the blue slanted brick with the "computer panel" painted on.

I think I've figured out the dwarf minifigs for each Hobbit set:

79001 (Escape from Mirkwood Spiders) Fili, Kili
79002 (Attack of the Wargs) Bifur, Thorin
79003 (An Unexpected Gathering) Balin, Bofur, Bombur, Dwalin
79004 (Barrel Escape) Gloin, Oin
79010 (The Goblin King Battle) Dori, Nori, Ori

So to get them all, you'll need to buy all the sets, save for the cheapest one. Not surprising.

Fuck me, if they average $15 a pop on bricklink that's $200

is there duplicates on any besides bilbo?

$91 for Jabba's Palace! Sold!
I just finished assembling bags 1 and 2 of this set and it is already loads of fun. Great colors and some nice curved pieces. And I'm going to declare that my new favorite mini-fig of all time is now Jabba! That mini-fig alone was worth the price! Sorry, Deadpool...

I feel exactly the same way. I'm a massive LOTR fan but the only set so far that has really stood out for me is Helm's Deep, which is a fantastic set. But the rest I just find so... meh. They just seem to be so generic and just a mish-mash of random things thrown together. There are SO many iconic things in the movies to draw from and these sets seem to have just ignored them all in favor of generic-looking playsets. The only saving grace with many of these sets seems to be the awesome mini-figs which kind of balances things out I think. Shelob was better than I thought it would be, but one of the main reasons I bought that set was for the Gollum mini-fig and the One Ring itself. And I'm not really all that enamored by the Mines of Moria set, but the cave troll is just too tempting, so I might eventually 'cave' in and get that one. So far, the only Hobbit set that seems interesting, to me at least, is Bag End which looks incredible. I really hope that more sets are on the horizon because there is SO much more to be covered. Hopefully LOTR will be an on-going theme like Star Wars.

I'm going to guess Walmart won't be restocking the big sets, eh? I'm deciding if a trip to the LEGO store is worth it or not today. ~40 minutes drive...*ugh*

Couple of notes on the Arkham set:

The original press release was incorrect on the piece count and age recommendation. Someone at TLG had copied the wrong numbers over from the Horizon train press release. The correct numbers are on the packaging - 1,619 pieces and ages 12+.

The Harley Quinn changing area/Joker shrine actually flips around, revealing a set of different plaques that can be attached to the cell doors to match your prisoners of choice.
