So I might be super LTTP on this one, but Guardian Saga is absolutely awesome. It's exactly what I've been looking for on iOS lately: a simplistic but charming and fun RPG. If it ran in portrait mode, it'd be even better. For those unfamiliar, it's a simplistic Dragon Warrior-esque JRPG with simple first-person combat. Love it. Simple controls, simple gameplay, perfect for on the go.

What I'd really kill for is more portrait RPGs, though. Tower of Fortune gets the majority of my play time because I can play it on the subway.

Anyone know of any other portrait RPGs?

I freaking love that game. I loved it so much that I went on a hunt for similar stuff and I am also planning to make one maybe as my second game (currently making a metroidvania)

Maybe you'd like to try those games. They stood out during my research even if I didn't play them yet:

Dragon Fantasy
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/dragon-fantasy/id457690225?mt=8

RPG Quest
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/rpg-quest-minim/id336817715?mt=8

If ever you try them, be sure to let me know about your impressions.

There's a question in my mind for a while, is there any iOS game soundtrack that you guys would like to get or already own?

I can only think in Sword & Sworcery and Ravenmark. I know S&S is already on PC, but I mean about games created first in iOS.

It is weird because I play a lot on my iPad, but I couldn't think of many soundtracks apart from those two.

Oh guys, it's probably worth repeating, but the 8-Bitty is finally on sale at ThinkGeek. $29 plus shipping, which makes it the cheapest BT controller out there AFIAK. I'm tempted to buy two for some hacky goodness, but one should suffice for now. That + blutrol = Pinball Arcade goodness (it has shoulder buttons).

Drawn: the Painted Tower had a beautiful OST.

Know what's REALLY fucking bizarre? This was the first time I'd thought of the 8-Bitty for MONTHS and this morning I got an email from ThinkGeek saying it's in stock. $29 plus $10 shipping to Australia. Shit, I might buy two and make a dedicated(ish) pinball controller to use with iOS. I wonder how hackable it is (ie provisions for analog controls etc.)...

Well still lacking in Blutrol. Only click-able current atm. (virtual buttons/d-pad)
Still no analog support yet such as hold and drag (virtual stick)

By the way, iCP2 kickstarter have pass the target. :)
Hopefully it will made more devs aware about analog controls. Or Blutrol people willing more advance input in future.

Radballs has an awesome soundtrack!

Of course, a new update means more promo codes, so I have 3 promo codes to give away.

To claim, just make a post which includes the Flick Kick Football app icon, and name one winning country out of the last 3 FIFA World Cups without repeating a country that a previous poster has given.

Need help guys, I was playing Ghost Trick at one point and while playing got a phone call/message which I replied to. Afterwards the game no longer played any audio >_<.
Would deleting and re-installing it work? Note that I've reached the 2nd/3rd chapter in the game, so do iPhones store a game's save data?

ICP1 looked like a better product than ICP2 does... they just added a shitload of awful tiny keys to make a keyboard.

Also, I don't think I could name more than maybe 5 control peripherals for iOS. I can only think of 2(3? if you wanna call it that) that are actually officially supported in games/don't require jailbreak.

Ion's iCade cabinet
Ion's iCade controller
Ion's 8-bitty

Gameloft/Duo's unreleased controller

And then you have a few Kickstarters like

iControlPad 2
iMpulse

that rely on jailbreaking

I dunno. Apple needs to just get their shit straight with the gamepad option we all want already.

Any opinions on the street fighter games on iOS? I'm looking for a few multiplayer games.

Volt is your best and only option. The rest are shoddy ports, and SFxT is a horrible IAP nightmare of a game.

Deleting an app also wipes out all related data, so you'd be deleting your save too. I've never gotten the so-called iCloud support to work either so don't rely on that to restore anything for you.

I'd think just force closing the game (or a device reboot) should fix things.

*face palm* man I should've shut down and re-activated my iPhone that might've solved it lol. Thanks for the info tho.

I saw this pop-up in the app store as having an update, but was disappointed it was 'only' iPhone 5 fixes and not the wider screen:) Are there any plans to update existing PikPok games or just future games? (While I'd love that, I could understand there not being much incentive to do so.) Maybe now with the wider screen Shatter would be possible... maybe.

I wonder if everyone just has Flick Kick Football by now.

This update was done and submitted just as the iPhone 5 emulator was released. We'll do a version that supports the full resolution soon.

One of our recent releases, Twang the Fox, has already had an update which adds full iPhone 5 resolution support.

Shatter will come to iPad. An iPhone version is further away though because the level design and controls are more problematic on that form factor.

Probably. We sold heaps, and then gave away even more for free. Didn't think that through when offering promo codes up :)

I've had this problem quite a bit. What games has this happened to you on?

Typically if I understand the process-if you are offline, the game should "cache" the achievement-so that the next time you connect to internet and gamecenter-it applies that. I have seen patches come from games that then trigger then stuck achievement immediately-so it must be some kind of known issue...

I've had it with plenty of games most recent.
They need to be fed and little generals.

Thanks - I'd missed that this was finally out. Has anybody posted impressions?

I just received an update to Lunar that is supposed to make the virtual joystick more sensitive along with a fix for the slow-down that happens during extended gameplay sessions.

I tried it for a bit and joypad works much better now, haven't had time to play for long so I'll see how it goes.

EDIT: solved.

No iPhone 5 resolution in Flick Kick Football's latest update. =(

Just got Pocket Planes, that could become fun. Probably will buy Rebuild today also.

No, but at least it works now :) Full resolution support is coming.

Oh, it didn't work properly before? Thanks for the update, it's greatly appreciated and I'm patient with the iPhone 5-resolution update, take your time guys. You got an awesome game on your hands, one of the best on App Store in my opinion.

Haven't checked my updates, but glad to hear it's finally live. Been holding off playing any more of the game 'til they patched it up.

I didn't see what the specific issues were myself, but apparently there were some UI misalignment issues as well as some instability under OS 6. We already had the update which was adding the new country content good to go, so we patched up those new issues quickly and submitted immediately.

We are currently going through most of the back catalogue doing the same for other games that have similar issues to make sure they are working at a basic level. Then we'll be going back over a few tweaking the necessary art etc and adding proper iPhone 5 support.

The new games we have in dev and all future games will have full support for the iPhone 5 resolution from the outset. We have 2 more iOS games which should drop before the end of the year.

Yeah, I've done the same. Getting through a town with the virtual joystick was more effort than it was worth and I'm happy to say that it works much better now.

I only have an iPhone so I haven't been able to try that out.
Hopefully you'll manage to get it working :)

Thanks, I solved :)
It crashes if you double tap on the save in landscape on iPad 3, but works fine if you press the load button or you are in portrait.
On iPhone works no matter what.

I'm confused. I was gonna make a list of the top20 games in the thread that are NOT timewasters, and I found hardly any. There are SOME that are of the endless runner type (e.g. Tiny wings) or puzzlers (e.g. Cut the rope), but many others are highscore-attack (shmups, or groove coaster etc) with great replayability, so thosr hardly count, unless you'd call a game like counterstrike a timewaster too.

Then there's other games with massive content, like galaxy on fire.

I really don't see your point. Please gives us a breakdown of the games in that list and what you think of them?

Sorry, I guess time-wasters are defined differently for everyone.
When I refer to time-wasters I mean something that doesn't have a progressive learning curve, content wise.

I personally consider counter-strike a time waster, unless I was trying to become competitive at it.

I'm hoping for TBS games that have a lot of depth and a huge learning curve.
Or maybe games with very interesting story-lines that will keep hooked.

A game I can think of Battle for Wesnoth a freeware PC game (though I dont think the learning curve is that deep, but then again the game has progressed a lot in development). I'm hoping for something along the lines of that with more variety.

On a smartphone, I don't feel like playing anything fast paced (shoot em ups/action games) but something very slow and chill. As for puzzle games, I'm very picky, and If I found one that continued being refreshing throughout, then I wouldn't mind.

I will take a look again at the list, as I only went through it briefly to see if anything caught my eye.

On another note, is there a MTG Card game on the Iphone?

Mario , about SMAMC, dunno how much you paid for the french version, but google translate would have done a better job imho....

I still can't believe that smamc isn't in the neogaf's top 20. this game is incredible :)
