Apple's October 23 Event | We've got a little more to show you.

I have an iPad 3 and I really don't see why people are angry at the updated iPad. They bumped up the specs a bit and switched to a lightning cable, this isn't exactly resolutionary.

There are places on the iPad 3 where you see some stutter that a faster CPU/GPU would improve. Plus it pretty much diminishes retail value.

Wow, so the rumors were dead on about the name too.

Today I'm eating crow because I always said that Apple wouldn't do it.

Although in recent months GAF has thrown some very convincing arguments as to why Apple would produce it.

What's the point in making the iMac so thin? I obviously understand doing this for portable devices, but it's useless on a desktop. It only increases the price, nothing else.

They don't have much to do but show off I suppose.
Its not actually that thin so its all a bit odd.

The new iMac has a terrible box design for storage it looks like:

ITT people who act like their iPad 3's will suddenly cease to operate the day the 4 starts shipping. I could rage all day about this, but I think Ill settle for a simple:

"Stop being stupid please."

Your tablet is the same as it was an hour ago, get a freaking grip. Mobile tech moves fast, deal with it.

A nail in the coffin for 7" Android tablets, perhaps

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaah..... no.... If they wanted to do that, they would have forgone their usual massive profit margins and priced the mini at $199. At $329 bucks the happy fun time Google and Amazon are slowly building at that $199-$249 range is both alive and kicking. And if the rumors of the $99 tablets are true, they will earn themselves even more of a beachhead. Apple had a chance to put a point on things, and they chose not too.

That's subjective, to say the least. I'd be worried about breaking the new iMac if I was near it ><;

Lol is this a joke? People are complaining that it's too thin? Do you routinely shake your computer desk or something? Are you afraid of LED TV's as well? Holy shit

The 7" Androids are going to continue to undercut them in price, which is why the 7" market exists in the first place.

Pretty much. It will still chip away at the 7" market somewhat, but it's certainly not going to be the death knell that people predicted. Not at that price, and at that size.

My 3rd gen iPad is still working, so I'm not really concerned about the 4th gen coming out so soon. I don't plan to buy an iPad every year or every release. I'll probably wait until a 5th or 6th gen, or whenever my iPad dies - whichever comes first.

I will say that the iPad mini without a retina display is a bit disappointing, but I'm sure that'll be rectified next year.

I guess keeping the iPad 2 gives people a ton of options: iPad mini for a "cheap" option, iPad 2 for a middle point, 4th gen iPad for high end.

Conference was complete shit.

- 13" MBP for 1700 is severely underpowered
- iMac is severly underpowered to be useful as an actual non-portable desktop
- iPad 4 is the best thing to come out of it (for me)
- iPad mini overpriced compared to competition

And worst of all, no iTunes 11.

Suprised so many fellow iPad 3 owners are upset. Who really honestly needs that extra processing/graphical zip? Wait for the iPad 5, which will probably make strides toward being thinner and lighter since there's not much else left to do (and you'll appreciate that far more than the bumped specs).

If anything, this means the iPad 5 will come out sooner, which is good news if you're an every-other-gen purchaser.
