So Herbie got one of the cohosts of the 2nd highest rated sports talk show in the country fired over a Desmond Howard tweet the guy made.

Sucks, always loved our afternoon sports how, won't be the same now.

I'm really pissed about it.

I interned with 97.1 my senior year at OSU and got to work with Torg quite a bit. Super nice guy. I doubt he even remembers me or anything - The Fan goes through a ton of interns - but he was never anything less than a totally awesome, fun, approachable dude. It was a great experience, thanks in large part to Torg.

It's pathetic that Herbstreit has that amount of clout at 97.1. He's barely on the station anymore.

Hell, when I interned there I never even saw him. All of his segments/shows were done via ISDN. (From his house in Upper Arlington, not Bristol.)

It could get a bit off-color at times, but it was never mean-spirited. The humor just doesn't translate well to Twitter, clearly.

Happy to not pick the FSU game, even if it is against DUke. I have a bad feeling about this one. 9th straight game, so the players are tired & hurt. It's the game before a bye week, and the game before a Thurs night trip to VT. And FSU has been playing sloppy.

I watch during the tournament, but I just not enough of a hoops guy to watch full regular season basketball games.

Baseball is a different story though. I will watch them anytime they are on TV here.
