In all seriousness though, in regards to the sales discussion.
In pop, when you sell. Those same people that buy your records aint buying more than 3 or 4, because Pop music is fickle. Couple years none yall gonna be buying these peoples music lets be honest.
Some hip hop artist may have smaller fanbases, difference is they loyal fanbases. That will always support the music, buy the tickets etc.
Pop artists come and go, are interchangeable and are ten a penny.
Hip hop fans have loyal, dedicated fanbases for years on end.
Wu Tang is 20 years deep with a cult following. I lost track how many shows i been to over the years.
Pop stars get their shine then fall off the face of the earth.
If i was given the choice, id take making money over a long term, then getting one big lump sum (During their 15 minutes.)
