I find Pop-GAF utterly baffling (RANT)

Sales usually come up when PopGAF is trying to have some fun. You don't really think we care all that much about that aspect of music, do you? Admittedly, it does come up more often than it needs to, but we don't have thousands of mixtapes to listen to like GAF-Hop...

Honestly, first post i can respect from the "otherside". #respect

I did. I see nowhere in 36's post where he stated it never happens. He actually explicitly said "some," which restricted the domain of those acts with lifelong fanbases.

Yeah, I edited my post to change never to doesn't.

But still, there are many one hit wonders and phases in the hip hop genre, and you can't deny that.

LOL dont try to lump Soulja Boy to our genre. He's categorized as hip hop on itunes. And the TOP 40 format hardly picked up his records.

Meanwhile the URBAN format (YOUR FORMAT) didnt have a problem picking him up. Look it up hoes.

I understand yall are doing it for fun somewhat, but people in here have denied how much yall bring it up as a way to put other artists down and that was the point I was trying to prove.

What does it matter if it's brought up first or last? All that matters is that you said that we care more about sales than talent, and that's wrong. We care about talent more than sales, but discussing sales doesn't mean we only care about them. Not sure how you came to that conclusion.

Now, child.

You better not be stanning for Rihanna and saying that.

While Soulja Boy was unfortunately in our genre, many rappers tried to dismiss him as Hip-hop lol.

I'm trying to use soulja boy to bring down the genre lol. I know he's terrible and not representative at all.

I was using him as an example of a rapper who has faded away after his 15 minutes of fame, which happens to a lot of pop artists too.

Ummm...HEW in POP GAF tried to deny that wholesale?

EDIT: OMG MUMEI HAS A NEW AVATAR AND IT LOOKS JUST AS "OVER IT" AS THE LAST ONE

BTW whoever asked when is the last time Hip-hop has had a number 1 hot single. We are getting there, the song is called Gangnam Style by the rapper Psy.

Lol itunes, the arbiter of music Genres. Ill send a fax to Tim Cook to fix it.

something i find .. interesting .. about popgaf, they're always talking about success and sales and popularity. whats up with that

should i even try to enter this conversation?

Why yes. Yes I am.

The claim was made that all rappers, even rappers that don't get that big, maintain "loyal fanbases." This was used to point out how Rap differs from Pop.

Ch...

Pop artists maintain their fan bases but the Pop genre itself constantly changes over time. That's the very definition of Pop music.

DJ whats his name was denying it pretty adamantly.

Back out yo, its entered the banning stages. None have been sighted, but moderation is a foot.

I don't know how PopGAF has time to listen to anything with the chart referencing and GIF creation of "stars" you love or hate. Like a TMZ chatroom but even more irrelevant.

You notice how talent was not in that equation? Lol.

All rappers?? I never made that claim. It was even noted after i posted that. I clearly said "some".

Go back and read my post thoroughly. Try and comprehend it before trying to come at the god.

Doesn't matter, he's one of your ilk. You can't ignore the unsavory parts of your genre if you're trying to #clapback, son.
Oh, so pop-gaf reps:

Chumbawumba
98 Degrees
Enrique Iglesias
Aaron Carter
Aqua
LFO
Baha Men

I could go on, and on, and on...

...you know you fucked up, right?

Not at all. Nobody in POP GAF reps those fools (except Enrique), but we can't deny their inclusion in our genre for the sake of an argument. POP GAF has, over the course of the thread, routinely pointed out rappers that break your already-shoddy arguments, and have been met with "Well, we don't like them so they don't count."

Nice try.

Do not EVEN compare us to the trash that is TMZ.

Our gif creations and usage are like an artform, really, teehee. It takes an open mind to understand us and our ways.
