Yeah, see this wasn't what I was saying. It's true that I don't play flight sims. But I never said they were boring. Heck I think some of the games they Quick Looked were awesome. And I have a huge respect to everyone who plays those games, because they require a level of discipline and patience, that is not common.
Now re: Aerofly FS, I still believe it's boring. It doesn't have the level of details other flight sims have, and it looked like there was nothing worth doing in the game. Now you can disagree with me, but I will not apologize or back off for having an opinion about a flight sim game.
Honestly, I think it's childish to disrespect people who don't share your opinion about a genre. I think YOU should have some respect and tolerance for gamers with different tastes than yours.
See, I almost wanted to apologize until I read your last part. You can make some trash comment and then hide behind childish, rubbish comments as "Oh you're disrespecting my opinion" Yes, brilliant move. And again, the fact that you haven't played it shows in your comments - Aerofly is one of the best looking flight simulators available, using baked textures but it still looks better than a big slap of mud and 3 pixel buildings.
Look how undetailed this looks;
Maybe you should stop judging games without having ANY interest in them, any experience or any knowledge and base your odd claims from watching an our long session of someone else playing a game.
I respect when people find a game boring, bad or whatever - When they actually play the genre, when they have some experience with it. I wouldn't look at Xenoblade or some other highly acclaimed game and say "God that looks boring!" because the genre isn't for me, I'd just respect its merits and make up my opinion by actually playing it, not looking at videos.
I think with todays engines there could be some awesome Flight Sims.
Flight Simulator 2013 with Frostbite and moving traffic and pedestrians.
Except, almost every kind of 'normal' engine is rubbish for flight simulators due to draw distances, hardware load when drawing vast spaces etc. you always need a tailored engine.
