Really, what did anyone DO in Casshern Sins? They all kidna existed, and acted out their parts... but what was really accomplished?

Was the whole purpose of the show basically teaching Casshern a new way at life? Braiking boss didn't accomplish anything. Luna didn't accomplish much. The biggest threat had long passed. Humans didn't re-appear. Ohji didn't figure out anything about how to solve anything...

So why wasn't Friender killed by Ruin? I guess Ringo just lived their by herself, staring at the graves? Did she accompish anything, after all the stuff that went on in front of her?

There just wasn't much payoff. I feel like I just watched Human Instrumentality: THE SERIES. Without all that Eva stuff around it.

Anyway...

Ooo, look, Renton thinks he's in the first Ep of Deadman wonderland!

It was about the characters, especially Casshern, learning about the importance and necessity of death. Without it, you live a bland, thoughtless life such as those touched by Luna in episode 21. Casshern comments on this in episode 22.

"[Those I met over the course of my journey] have more life in them than those touched by Luna."

Dio fulfilled his goal of fighting Casshern and "winning," Lyuze learn revenge doesn't lead to a fulfilling life (which is important when you don't have much left), Braiking Boss was able to atone for his sins, Leda learned that chasing vanity isn't as important as the one who loves you, etc. etc.

The show's characters grew and changed over the course of the series. There wasn't much of an overarching plot, but episodic shows shouldn't be damned on that basis.

I'm looking forward to Eureka a lot too, among all this other stuff. Even though I've seen it before, when it first aired... I like it's characterization more than Bleach of S7s, as it's more consistently actually developing it's characters.
